Vicky was a teenage guy with 5ft 9inches height and average in health, that neither obese nor underweight. It was 7 in the morning, the sun was shining bright outside.
As the sun rays from the window at his bedside touched his face. He felt little warmth and he woke up. Seeing the time on the clock hanging on the wall in front of him, he got down from the bed and moved into the bathroom. After completing his morning ablutions he went downstairs to the hall.
"Good morning dear, did you sleep well," aunt Lilly asked.
"of course, I slept well, what can go wrong with my sleep" Vicky replied with a fake smile.
Although Vicky went through weird dreams which he shared with her aunt earlier and she got worried about it. So this time he didn't want her to bother about it.
Vicky was an orphan and was adopted by his aunt Lily and uncle Dave. Well, they didn't adopt him from an orphanage but they found him in some mysterious situation in a house.
Vicky finished his breakfast and took his belongings with him and said
"I leaving aunty, will be back by 9 in the evening"
"ok dear, take care and have fun," said Lily
Vicky headed to his college where he was perusing a bachelor's in psychology. The college was 10 miles away from his home and he went through a 100cc motorbike.
San Louis was a small town with all resources it should have to nurture its population. Vicky's house was at the bank of town, that's why the college was so far from his house. Uncle Dave had a restaurant in the marketplace. Aunt Lily was a housemaker.
Vicky worked part-time in the evening to earn some extra bucks for his expenditures as he felt hesitant in asking for money from his uncle because he knew he was no more a small child who would keep on demanding.
Although uncle and aunt were the most caring individuals. Vicky knew that whatever he will demand, uncle Dave will try to fulfill it, no matter how much pain uncle has to through. That was the thing that Vicky never wanted his uncle to go through because Vicky also loved them equally.
Vicky worked in an orphanage that was run under government administration. Vicky used to teach the children some extracurricular activities against which he was paid a handful amount. Vicky chose to work in an orphanage because he knew what it felt like being without parents.
Vicky knew the reality that he was adopted. The government maintains proper data of every citizen of the town. So lily and Dave knew that someday Vicky will come to know that he is not their biological child. hence they disclosed this reality to Vicky when he was taking admission to college. But this never abated their love for him.
Vicky used to take the classes in the evening from 6 to 8 pm. After commencing the classes he used to visit uncle Dave at the restaurant to give him a hand in wrapping up the things and finally they would depart for home.
The way home started from the busy streets of the town and then followed by a patch of a dark forest with a narrow road in the middle; supported by streetlights at equal distance, the only drawback with the lights was they were not able to illuminate the area properly.
Vicky and uncle Dave arrived at the colony gate, the colony consisted of only five houses surrounded by tall spiked fences to prevent any wild creature from entering the premises.
Vicky parked his motorbike and uncle Dave too parked his scooter on the front premises of the house.
Hearing the sound of vehicles aunt Lily had already opened the door. Both of them entered the home, took off their shoes, and uncle Dave took off his coat as well and hung it on the hanger attached to the wall at the door.
"you both freshen up, in the meanwhile I serve the dinner on the table," said aunt Lily.
The three were at the table having dinner, they shared their day's experience with Lily.
Uncle Dave shared about what happened in the restaurant.
With a commotion, he said " people nowadays just don't take the fact seriously that my restaurant is not a loan agency where I will keep on maintaining their debt accounts. They should realize that they pay them eventually. Otherwise, I will run into a loss."
"You have to say it to their faces but in a polite tone to make them realize that you have a business to operate, which requires money. Otherwise, you won't be able to serve them any longer" said Lily.
"And how was your day Vicky," Lily asked.
" fine, as usual, nothing great. Today I played a new game with the children." Vicky replied
"oh really, what was it," asked uncle Dave
"dodgeball" Vicky replied
"They loved it and I enjoyed it as well," said Vicky.
Then, they all finished their dinner and Vicky said good night to them and went upstairs to his room.
He switched off the lights and got laid on the bed, with moonlight entering his room which made everything fairly visible. At this moment Vicky again began to think about his parents. how do they look? where do they live?
As we all know this is the void in Vicky's heart that can never be filled.
As usual, after thinking Vicky suddenly recalled that he forgot to write about today's experience in his diary. So he got off the bed, pulled the chair near the study- table, sat on it, and switched on a table lamp. He noted down all the activities he did today and experienced, learnings from them.
Then he finished writing, went for a bio call in the bathroom, and again got back to bed.
"ok that's all for today, now let's get some sleep" Vicky muffled.
Vicky went into a deep sleep and in an hour he felt as if somebody is around him. Sweat began to appear on his face and suddenly he opened his eyes.
"what the fuc..."
