Eodum began to wake as the golden rays of the early morning light shined through the windows of its room. Henry and Sheila stirred in their beds as the light also began to wake them. Eodum got up out of its dog bed and looked around; a beautiful morning as always. Eodum shifted into its human form and pulled clothing out of the void. It put on its usual attire and prepared itself for the day.
Eodum opened the door carefully, making sure not to wake its still sleeping companions. It shut the door with a slight click, signifying it auto-locked itself. Eodum walked down the quiet hallways, the floorboards creaking with each step. Eodum walked down the flight of stairs leading to the first floor of the inn. Other clients sat at the tables; they ate the breakfast offered by the inn.
Eodum sat at one of the tables, and a young girl came up to Eodum. "Hey there Mr. Tar! Would you like to order the inn's breakfast?" The young girl asked. Eodum gave a single nod to the answer, and she nodded back. She quickly walked over to the door that led to the kitchen, and told the other employees of the order. Eodum waited around for a while, listening to the gossip.
There weren't many things of interest, a lot was the talk of the creepiness of Eodum's presence. The young girl walked back to Eodum's table with a platter of food. She took each dish off the platter and laid them down before Eodum. She looked at Eodum and said, "Here's your order Mr. Tar!" She then went over to other customers, and began taking their orders.
Eodum took up its fork and knife, which it only learned to use recently, and began to dig in. The meal laid out in front of it was scrambled eggs mixed with onions, garlic, and herbs. There was a savory tomato sauce on the eggs, adding a nice acidic taste to it. There was a tea that came along with the meal, it was pleasant, soothing, and refreshing. The tea left a nice coating in the throat of the drinker, giving it a pleasant aftertaste.
Eodum finished its meal happily. Eodum stood up from its table and went out into the streets. Eodum stepped out into the bustling streets and… wait. What the hell? Where was everyone? Why are the streets barren? Eodum was wondering what was going on, but then a man in light armor bumped into Eodum. The man stumbled and prepared to start running again, but Eodum stopped him, "Wait, what's happening?"
"What? Oh, you're that Eodum guy back at the Adventurers' Guild right? Ksilisab has appeared! It's pissed and wants to wreck shit!" The man said, alarmed. With that said, he turned back around and started running again. Eodum watched him running off, and thought back onto the name the man said. Ksilisab, Ksilisab, where had Eodum heard this before?
Oh right! Wasn't Ksilisab one of those Royals of Kraude. Wait, weren't those some super fucking strong monsters? Shit. SHIT!!! Wasn't that basilisk they killed Ksilisab's spawn!? Fuck, it's here for us! Eodum was freaking the hell out because of this. It thought that Ksilisab tracked the trio here, and it would follow them to get revenge.
That was when Eodum came to a conclusion. They had to kill Ksilisab. The other townsfolk didn't know why Ksilisab was there, so they'd probably try to kill it as well. Of course, this would mean it had to fight in its human form, but that wouldn't matter if it was part of an army. Eodum rushed back to its room. It quickly opened the door to see Henry and Sheila standing around.
"Eodum?" Sheila said, surprised.
Henry followed up, "Aren't you supposed to be working?"
Eodum then told the two of the current situation, and they began to quickly prepare themselves. The three ran towards the gates at top speed, and they eventually reached the gates. They burst from the gates, and saw a battlefield. Dead adventurers laid across burnt and petrified ground. Ksilisab was battling with many adventurers, one of which was Kali.
Her pale indigo form raced through the sky as she jumped off of invisible platforms in the air. She was fighting Ksilisab with her fists; she wore crimson gauntlets as she threw punches at Ksilisab. Blue flames spiraled around her fists, and with every swing of her fist, a flaming phantom fist flew out. She danced around Ksilisab, alternating between attacking from close up to at a distance.
The trio dashed from the gates, preparing for battles. From Eodum's rear, a tail with spikes lining it and a blade at the tip emerged from its clothing. Eodum took two steel daggers into its hands and leapt at Ksilisab. Eodum pulled back the daggers in its hands and swung down when it got close enough to Ksilisab. The daggers sped at Ksilisab's scales, but bounced off at contact.
Eodum's eyes sharpened, and it spun around. It slashed its tail's blade into Ksilisab's body, and this time it stuck. It pulled itself in, and started slashing at Ksilisab's scales. It quickly used [Body Scan], and saw the monstrous power of its enemy. This thing deserved the title of Royalty of Kraude, it was alarmingly strong. It immediately pushed by that fact and started looking for weaknesses. It saw that it was slightly weakened at the points that were attacked, but overall it didn't seem to have any weaknesses.
Sheila ran up and started buffing and debuffing others with [Holy Magic]. She used her curse on Ksilisab, while she buffed herself and her companions. She used [Divine Smite] and her new spell [Divine Weapon]. Her long sword glowed a bright gold, and she swung down with it. Her blade slashed through Ksilisab, shattering scales on the way. Her blade was damaging, but the sheer size of Ksilisab made the cut seem shallow.
Normally, a hit like this would be pretty easy to ignore, but then it's body started rotting from the inside out. Sheila started using [Rotting Aura], and began draining Ksilisab of its life force. Tendrils of aura drilled into Ksilisab's flesh, rotting it on the way. Of course, it was still a giant, so these attacks weren't doing much. However, it was still chipping its health away.
Henry flew around Ksilisab, and he started throwing daggers at Ksilisab's face. The daggers were made of wood, so they obviously wouldn't do much damage. The daggers deflected off Ksilisab's hard scales, but some balanced on Ksilisab's head. Henry saw this as a chance and started using [Flame Control]. Flames swirled from the dagger, and Henry had the flames engulf part of Ksilisab's head.
This got Ksilisab's attention and it looked up at Henry. Henry planned for this and used his new spell [Freezing Falls]. Freezing water began swelling in a ball in the air. It gathered and gathered quickly, and started falling onto Ksilisab's head. Water seemingly came infinitely from the large ball in the air, and kept falling upon Ksilisab. This essentially waterboarded Ksilisab with freezing cold water. This was quite effective against Ksilisab because it was cold-blooded, so this was slowing its movements.
Ksilisab noticed these four individuals. These were probably some of the strongest this city had to offer. The one with the blue flames was incredibly strong, and was packed quite the punch. The one made of fire was very effective at abusing its weakness. The water made it hard to breathe, and the cold slowed down Ksilisab. The glowing one was slowly but surely killing it from the inside out. The dark one was dealing the least amount of damage, but seemed to be holding back. They might be a problem.
