Chapter 49 - A Rat from Another Perspective

Kali battled Ksilisab with the help of adventurers, mercenaries, or just anyone who could battle. She jumped through platforms she created with her skill [Condense], and threw out fists of flaming aura at the mighty basilisk. She utilized her gauntlets' skill [Blue Flame] which lit a specified part of the user on fire, and her aura projection ability. This flame was harmless to the user, but would spread to anything else which touched it.

Her aura fists lit a flame and launched themselves at Ksilisab. There was quite a bit of force behind each punch, and the intense flame covering them would burn most things. However, Ksilisab's tough, thick scales protected it from the intense flame, and the sheer size of it reduced the damage of each punch. She had been fighting since the beginning, but many others had fallen prey to Ksilisab.

She wasn't sure how much longer she could last when she eventually became the only one fit for battle. Ksilisab focused on her with every attack, and it became harder and harder to attack Ksilisab while dodging. As she battled Ksilisab, she noticed a figure from the corner of her eye. She saw a cloaked figure with wrappings all over and a white mask revealing a singular eye. It was Eodum!

What the hell was Eodum doing here!? A bronze ranked adventurer shouldn't get involved in this battle! It would be way too hard on him! Following right behind him were two other figures. One was the quickly rising adventurer Sheila the undead, and next to her was Henry, the fire spirit from the bakery. None of them should be here, they were all too weak to participate in this battle!

As she thought that, Eodum pulled out two daggers, and a bladed and spiked tail shot from his behind. The hell is with that tail? Wasn't Eodum a lizardman; lizardman tails shouldn't look like that! Actually, no creature's tail should look like that! While her thoughts raced, she remembered she was still in battle and dodged another of Ksilisab's attacks.

She continued to fight Ksilisab, but kept an eye on the trio of adventurers. She watched as Eodum attempted to stab Ksilisab with his daggers, but were deflected. Then, she watched as his bladed tail easily pierced Ksilisab. How!? These scales should've been some of the toughest things out there! How did Eodum's tail's sharpness outrank the defensive power of Ksilisab's scales!

Then she watched as Eodum kept himself latched onto Ksilisab, and continually attacked Ksilisab with his daggers. While that was going on, she noticed Sheila run up and easily pierce swing through Ksilisab's scales. Her power was also way more powerful than Kali had thought it was. Of course, swings like that wouldn't deal too much damage to Ksilisab, it was huge!

That was when she saw Sheila jump back, and a strange area formed around her. The area around her turned slightly greenish brown, and the plants around her started dying and rotting. This area moved, rippled, and had small tentacles reach out and get sucked back into the area. Kali saw as Sheila stuck her hand out, and tentacles shot out from that strange energy and into Ksilisab. Then Ksilisab's body started rotting away at that specific area.

What kind of skill was that? Maybe it was an undead's skill? It wasn't like there had been cases of intelligent undead existing before, so it was completely possible. This strange energy was quite effective at draining away at Ksilisab's Hp. Then Ksilisab started moving around and trying to attack her, but she expertly dodged and blocked with a glowing shield. Looks like Sheila could put out a decent amount of damage and keep herself safe, so that was one less person Kali had to worry about.

Then Kali saw Henry, and thought that he was going to be a complete liability, and tried to make her way to him. She was stopped by Ksilisab taking a sudden snap at her. It launched itself at her, but she barely made a dodge out of the way. It landed, crushing a few petrified bodies on the ground. Then she saw some wooden daggers dropped onto Ksilisab. Those would do nothing, obviou-. Her thoughts stopped as she watched them burst into flames consuming part of Ksilisab.

Her head snapped back up to see Henry with his hands out. Was he controlling and creating the flames! The fuck! Flame spirits could control flames, but to this degree!? He also created flames from unlit daggers, how!? At this point she was running out of the ability to be surprised, but then she watched as a waterfall Pog ice, slush, and water waterboarded Ksilisab. What the fuck.

At this point, she stopped caring and started just focusing on attacking. These three clearly didn't need help, they had their shit under control. They battled for a while longer until the visibly pissed Ksilisab used its petrification. Kali was so engrossed in battle, that she only barely heard the warning. By the time she and Henry reacted to it, they already felt their bottom halves getting petrified.

The two fell from the sky and hit the ground with a thud. FUCKKK!!! This was painful as hell! She thought this and screamed in agony. With her blurry vision she watched the following battle. She watched as Eodum launched Ksilisab into the sky, transformed and fought the mighty royal. Ksilisab clearly had the advantage, but Eodum squeezed by with never before seen skills.

Then it found itself in extreme danger after it was bashed by its tail attack. It ran and let off some ranged attacks, but they were clearly too weak. 'I- I have to help it!' Kali thought as she watched the monster desperately fight for Nomed. Then something happened to it. It froze for a split second, wobbled, but then found itself changing. It changed from its fur, its skin, its strength, and the very energy it gave off.

Before, it simply felt creepy, but now it felt oppressing. The energy it then gave off was terrifying, and every fiber in Kali's body screamed at her to run. However, she couldn't. She could only lay there in a daze and watch that thing brutally murder Ksilisab. The Royal of Kraude didn't stand a chance after it transformed. She stared at that thing in horror and felt dizzy while looking at it. Then, she blacked out.
