"You're a genius, Serina! You just know how to read my mind!" said Gabbie as she enjoyed some curry rice with her friend and rival Serina at Snack Safari, a café best known for its curry. Serina was surprised to see her blonde pal finishing up her lunch faster than her. She never knew Gabbie had a huge appetite, or she just haven't ate something like this ever since she was abducted to the walled city along with her younger sister.
After they finished their lunch, the Minato siblings and Serina decided to go back to the tower to see Touka again and call it a day inside their provisional dorm.
"Well, good to see you two here again. And who's this new girl?" asked Touka nicely. "Oh, I'm Serina Himekawa. I umm…. How did I ended up here?" answered Serina with a rather confused look. She almost lost her memories of what happened before her abduction, and she could only remembered that she fended for her own life and viewed everyone as her enemy, Deviant or not.
"I guess we'll give her some time to rethink some stuff. Anyways, I'm glad that you saved Ms. Tanikaze from being infected. It really concerns me that someone, or something is infecting Espers with Dark Nightmare's cells. I thought a younger brother of Dr. Shinohara's childhood friend already took care of it" said Touka.
"If I may know, who is this person?" asked Gabbie.
"She said his name is Alfredo Takahitsuji, the heir of the famed Takahitsuji clan of Aomori. As far as I know, Ms. Tanikaze was one of the clan's many retainers. There's a lot but I can't really mention much about them. All I heard about him is that he defeated the Kamiyama clan, crushed the Blood Gear gang and defeated Dark Nightmare. He is like a legend" explained Touka. Gabbie was amazed to hear about it, and hoped that she could meet Alfredo one day. But before she could call it a day, she had to train with Touka a bit to help her manage her usage of Sigil and polish her fighting skills before facing the next Deviant.
"Heheheh, our first experiment was a success. Too bad it got defeated quickly, but that's another problem! We already know who are WE dealing with! Hahahahah!" said a pink haired girl to her boss, a man with a black tuxedo suit and a fedora hat. He seemed to look like a mob boss, but at the same time he looked like a butler with a dainty-looking blonde woman on his side. "Well done. But can you tell me who are WE dealing with right now?" said the man angrily.
"I already know. Those pesky Higurashi and Fujimiya scumbags are at it again, and this time they took down our first experiment. Regrettable, but it's already a sign that they've put up quite the fight. Now's the time for us to rethink our strategies" said the blonde woman. She revealed a vial containing Dark Nightmare's cell, ready to be injected to an Esper.
A day later..
"How long have we been here, lil' sis? I really miss my muh-mah right now…" said Gabbie in a rather somber tone. "I know, it already felt like a week here. No way out, stuck here and under Touka's constant supervision, and not to mention those monsters crawling outside like the one you fought before!" said Rei in a rather terrified manner. Gabbie couldn't help but to comfort her panicked younger sister with a hug.
"Alright you two, you don't wanna miss today's training session, do you?" said Touka as she went into Gabbie's dorm room to wake up the two. Gabbie reluctantly trained with Touka as Rei watched her. Despite that, she still shown her mentor some skill, and control over her temporary Sigil.
"Once you're here, there's no turning back, sadly. Mr. Fujimiya won't let elusive Espers like you to fall into the wrong hands. I'm sorry to say that" said Touka. "I understand, I hope muh-mah is missing me and my younger sister, that is all. I'll keep fighting for the sake of this city's safety and for our lives" answered Gabbie as she kept kicking into the air.
Gabbie knew this would happen, as the Fujimiyas knew that despite that the threats posed by Dark Nightmare and the Kamiyama clan are no more, there are still Deviants around, and rumors about the remnants of Krait Energies and Blood Gear regrouping under a new banner are spreading like wildfire, further endangering the lives of the Espers. Driven by her sense of heroism, she decided to stay in Polaris.
Meanwhile outside the tower, Serina is busy beating up several Rat Deviants with her bare hands, cleaning up the streets while Gabbie is away. However, she suddenly stumbled upon a pink-haired girl and her accomplice, a boy with a spiky blonde hair and a purple scarf around his hair. "Who are you, and what do you want?!" said Serina angrily. "We're here to play with you, and oh, we haven't introduced ourselves. My name is Mercy, and this is my pal Shinobu. We're here to play a little game with you…" said Mercy.
Despite her name, she shown no mercy on her test subject, an innocent Esper girl with a green hair. The girl screamed and transformed into a Parrot Deviant upon injection with Dark Nightmare's cell. Before Serina could get her hands at Mercy and Shinobu, the two suspicious people already fled, leaving Serina to fend herself against the Parrot Deviant. "Looks like I'll have to fry this bird by myself.." said the delinquent while crackling her fists.
"Looks like we got signal. Deviant spotted within the city's vicinity" said Irene. "Looks like it's cleaning up time for me and my pal Serina, wait where's Serina?" said Gabbie. "I guess she already left you behind, you'd better be hurry, or else she'll be wrecked for the second time" answered Touka. Gabbie nodded her head and rushed into the scene.
"Looks like I got.. carried away again" said Serina after she was defeated by the Parrot Deviant. Standing up to her injured friend, Gabbie fought the Deviant all by herself. Via telepathy, she knew that this Deviant had the ability to fly, so he had to use an Ice-attribute Sigil from a LIGHT blue-colored Sigil Blazz. She drank it and used it to freeze the Deviant's wings. Afterwards, Gabbie grabbed the Deviant by its head and shoved her knee into it. Her enemy stumbled backwards and whilst it's stunned, she finished it off with her Victory Bluff as usual.
"Dagnabbit! Looks like our experiment failed again! We gotta pull back!" said Mercy as she saw Gabbie curb-stomping the Parrot Deviant. She retreated alongside Shinobu and before Gabbie stopped them, they already ran away. Upon its defeat, the Parrot Deviant reverted back to its original self, the girl from before. Gabbie looked at her and felt familiar.
"Ugh… Gabbie, is that you? How did I…" said the girl." Jocie?! What are you doing here?! You're not an Esper too like me, are you?!" said Gabbie. "I couldn't remember… My head.." said Jocie as she clutched her head while squirming on the floor. Gabbie quickly called the Turquoise staff to evacuate both Jocelyn and Serina and send them to the infirmary for further treatment. She never knew a friend of hers would end up here, only to be infected by Mercy and her accomplice Shinobu like what happened to Akashi before.
Gabbie would never expect her childhood friend would show up here. She suspected that the Fujimiyas might've kidnapped Jocie while they were conducting "research" on Omega Factor Espers in Canada. She could not forgive the man who kidnapped her and her younger sister during her time back in Thailand, and when she has the time she would even fight against the Fujimiyas, though she couldn't because she is still under Touka's supervision.
That night, Gabbie and Rei were waiting for the Canadian grappler to recover inside the infirmary. Meanwhile, Touka was just taking her time resting for the next day. A mysterious blonde-haired woman snuck into the Turquoise's tower, slipping through its security measures. She knew that the Fujimiyas and the Higurashis are inside, and she will do anything to take over Polaris for her own.
Touka suddenly woke up from her rest and saw the mysterious blonde woman reaching for her. Before she could react, she was strangled by a vine-like appendage coming from the woman's shoulder. She didn't expect someone to slip into the tower that easily. "Well well, if it isn't one of the member of the Higurashi clan. Tell me, why are you dying to protect this filthy city and its filthy inhabitants? Ever since my lord Dark Nightmare was vanquished by someone with the blood of one of the Angelus Warriors, I decided to purge everyone who came from their ancestry. And it turned out the Higurashis are one of them" said the woman.
"Nnghh… What the hell are you even saying?!" answered Touka. "Do not lie. The Higurashis came from one of the Angelus Warriors, aside from the Takahitsujis, who happened to be the descendants of their leader, Lumino Angelus. Tell me, where are the rest of your clan members, or else this city will be turned into the perfect petri dish for my master plan" said the woman again. "Who are you?!" said Touka.
"Nice of you to ask about my name. My name is Brittany Luvve. I was just a mere Esper like this city's inhabitants, but I gained some special stuff from that being that Mr. Kamiyama released. But alas, he and said being are now gone, and I felt very sad. But then, I realized that this was the work of those Transcendent scumbags! And now.. I will start the purge of the Higurashi clan with you!" said Brittany. She then stabbed Touka with a snake-like appendage that was her right arm and injected her with venom. The twintailed blonde Esper dropped into the floor and vomited out blood. Before Gabbie and the others knew, Brittany dragged the dying Touka out and cleaned every traces of her.
Outside the tower, Brittany then absorbs Touka's life force and Sigil, then buried her dead body in a place where the Turquoise authorities will never find. She then snuck her way back to her hideout to plan her next move. The next day, Gabbie was shocked with Touka's disappearance. She couldn't find her anywhere, and apparently, one of the Fujimiyas' security cameras revealed what happened last night.
"It can't be… Touka has.." said Gabbie in a rather somber manner. She then cried and remembered that despite being a rather strict and sometimes brash person, Touka taught her everything about Sigil usage, and how to fight like a member of her clan. Rei tried to comfort her, but to no avail. Gabbie respected Touka so much, and her loss meant a lot to her. "She reminded me of how my muh-mah was back in Toronto, now I felt like if I had nothing else" said Gabbie. Jocie couldn't help but to try and comfort the blonde kickboxer from her sadness.
Meanwhile outside the walled city, a boy wielding a gun-like weapon and a blade-like weapon watched over the city. "Maybe this is home…" said the boy. He was clad in a blue jacket with an insignia resembling a prehistoric reptile with a sail on its back, a Spinosaurus. He then made his way into the city's entrance and knocked out the guards before getting in. He felt like a fugitive, yet he himself has lost his home to a mysterious evil force. Soon, Gabbie and this boy shall cross paths in this very city.
