Years ago in another world, a huge disaster struck a kingdom known as Afilia. Millions of people, regardless of status or gender fought against a massive threat that swallowed the kingdom into darkness. However, this new threat was way stronger than the ones that Afilia once faced. Even the kingdom's royal council, Afilia Saga also sacrificed themselves to battle the invaders. A dying girl gave her last wishes and parting gift to her elder brother, who happened to be the kingdom's cavalry commandant general. He was hailed as a hero by the king of Afilia for his prowess in strategy and swordsmanship.
"Brother, take this with you. I hope you can find a safe place, and someone to marry. You are our last hope…" said the girl before she succumbed to her wounds. The boy cried and laid his dead younger sister to rest at the rubble of what was the Saga's headquarters.
"Looks like it's now up to me. I must kiss this kingdom goodbye and look for somewhere to live and someone to love.." said the boy. He then teleported himself with the ring and left the ruined kingdom behind. Just as he traveled through the space and time continuum, a dimensional rip occurred in the Espers' Homeworld.
For years, the boy relied on hunting and gathering to survive. He could not find any nearby city to live in, as he was far from them and he had no map or anything to guide him. His ring that his younger sister left was already rusted and broken from the explosion. He could never find home anymore, as Afilia is nothing but rubble now and his family are all dead. Later, the boy found a walled city not far from the forest. He snuck into the entrance and put up a fight against the city's guards. He managed to defeat them and made his way into the city.
"Home… Love…" muttered the boy as he slipped through the entrance. On his hands are a saw-like blade and a dragon-shaped revolver. A mysterious ultramarine sheen accompanied the dragon-like firearm.
Meanwhile, Gabbie is facing two threats all by herself, as Serina was standing by at the tower to look after her childhood friend Jocelyn and Touka wasn't there anymore. A leech Deviant and an imposing yet tall Deviant with a humanoid body and the head of a jaguar are her opponents. She believed that she could defeat them all, until she was curb-stomped by the two. The leech Deviant strangled Gabbie with its prehensile appendages and plunged its jaws into her stomach, injecting her with a mysterious disease. After the Canadian fighter was weakened, the jaguar Deviant grabbed her and performed a back-breaker on her.
"Oh dear! I gotta do something and save her! This might be a chance for me to prove that I am worthy as her beloved one!" said the boy. He then inserted an ultramarine-colored crystal into the revolver's slot and charged at both of the Deviants.
The boy fought his way to save Gabbie. He shot the leech Deviant first with the revolver and slashed the jaguar Deviant's muscular chest with his saw-like blade. Whilst the two are immobilized for a while, he took the chance to carry Gabbie to safety before continuing the fight.
"King's Krew! Come!" said the jaguar Deviant. He summoned leopard Deviants that acted as his own minion to cover the Deviant's retreat. However, one by one the so-called "King's Krew" were taken out by the boy's weaponry and fighting prowess. "You will regret meeting me, as the tides of fate shall swallow you both!" said the boy in a heroic manner. "Tell me your name, mysterious boy…" said the jaguar Deviant after seeing his personal minions defeated.
"Back then I was hailed a hero in my own world, but this time I shall be hailed as this world's hero too. You can call me.. Daiki" said the boy. "Daiki? Hah, I'll crush you like your blonde friend myself! Have at you!" said the jaguar Deviant angrily. Whilst Daiki is fighting the jaguar Deviant, the leech Deviant tried to sink its teeth into the Afilian boy. However, Daiki quickly shot the leech Deviant and finished it off by cutting off its long extendable head with his blade. The leech Deviant fell into the ground and turned into black smoke upon its death.
"Rrrrrgh! You meddling scum!" roared the jaguar Deviant upon seeing its comrade's defeat. "Foul beast, I shall pierce through your heart with one shot" said Daiki. He prepared a charged shot in hopes of finishing off the jaguar Deviant. "BRAVE DRAGON…. FINALEEEEEEEEE!!" screamed Daiki as he shot an immense amount of draconic energy into his larger enemy. The jaguar Deviant was taken down by Daiki, and fell into the ground before exploding. "Evil.. is over" proclaimed Daiki as he left his downed enemy behind. He then carried Gabbie to the tower's infirmary.
"Ugh.. what happened" said Gabbie as she woke up. She coughed heavily and spat out some bloody phlegm after being infected by the leech Deviant. She wasn't aware that she was not just injured, but she was also infected with a mysterious disease. Rei, Jocie and Serina were very worried to see that. Before the disease claimed Gabbie's life, she was saved by Daiki with a special potion he brewed using his knowledge of alchemy. She then drank the potion and suddenly felt better. "Thank you mysterious boy.. tell me your name, please?" asked Gabbie.
"Oh, I'm Daiki. Well… I'm not from this world but, pleased to meet you" answered Daiki. However, he could not remember his last name. A part of his memories were lost upon impact at the forest. He could only remember the moments up until the destruction of Afilia, but no memory of his last name. Looking around, Daiki suddenly saw Touka's name tag lying on a table. He suddenly came up with something. He decided to call himself Daiki Higurashi, in hopes of the girl to recognize her better.
"Umm… my full name is.. Daiki Higurashi. Pleased to meet you, again" said Daiki. "Daiki… Higurashi?" muttered Gabbie. She never knew Daiki had connections with Touka, though the latter is not related to Touka whatsoever. He only did this so Gabbie could know him more well, and get closer to her. "Why… may I call you Dai-kun? I feel that you're like someone whom I can trust with my life. If you don't mind, that is.." said Gabbie in a rather content tone.
"Dai-kun? Dai….kun? Why I like that. You can call me that anytime!" said Daiki happily. His plan worked. With Touka's last name as his last name, Gabbie quickly recognized him and accepted him as her boyfriend. With it, Daiki was confident that he finally found himself a soon-to-be wife, something that his dying younger sister wished for to him before her death. Carrying her wishes, Daiki swore upon his blade and his gun that he will fight alongside and protect Gabbie, even if it costs his life or his health. "Hahaha.. the great Daiki has finally found himself his beloved one. This is just the beginning, a new beginning.." said a mysterious voice coming out from a crystal shard that was inside Daiki's revolver.
He knew that the voice was the voice of Draco Piscis, one of his kingdom's guardian deities. His tribe once served Draco Piscis, being the guardian of the seas and the waters. They treated it like as if it was a god. However, when the disaster struck, the guardian deities perished, but their souls travel freely and followed Daiki into the Espers' Homeworld. Thanks to his alchemy, he was able to create a crystal for the soul of Draco Piscis to inhabit and lend him his power during battles.
"Hmm.. these weapons look pretty alien to me. They don't look like the ones made on Earth, let alone by Lazuline. Tell me, what kind of civilization that made these?" said Irene as she studied Daiki's weapon. "They're called Draco Blaster and Draco Blader. I think my mentor made these for me, but yeah… I don't remember what happened to him" Daiki answered. "These are amazing! How could you were able to use both weapons at the same time?" asked Irene. "I guess I'm natural" answered Daiki again.
"Bad news, Doc. The Deviant that was defeated earlier today survived the attack" said Maddie, who happened to be Irene's assistant. "WHAT?! I thought I already finished him off!" said Daiki in a rather shocked manner. Turned out a shady figure dragged the seemingly dead jaguar Deviant away with unknown intentions. Daiki watched in disbelief, as he thought he already killed that powerful Deviant that curb-stomped Gabbie. "That figure better not be those two assholes, Mercy and Shinobu" said Irene.
Days later, and Gabbie finally recovered from her injuries and her disease. However, her usual fighting gear was tattered and her white hair scarf that once adorned her hair was torn in half. She was only dressed in a white hospital gown, with her messy pink-tipped blonde hair covering her face. "Ugh.. bad hair day for me.." said Gabbie in a rather somber tone. Irene said that she's now clear to go, though at the cost of her only clothing, as she was abducted here all of a sudden.
She then ate her breakfast with Rei, and took her time watching TV inside her dorm room. Not long after that, a package arrived for her. It was sent by her grandfather Toshiharu Minato, the former governor of Niigata and Marika Takahitsuji, the CEO of Lazuline. She then opened the package with a cutter and unpacked what's inside. The first thing she took out is a box of blueberry pie, baked by her mother. She took a bite, and shed out tears of joy. She knew that her mother is still looking out for her. "Muh-mah.. Please pray for me here" said Gabbie as she remembered her mother.
Next up is a brochure for her grandfather's new business. He recently opened up a Canadian-style food stand in his hometown, selling sandwiches and coffee in honor of his beloved granddaughter. "Even Grand-pah missed me, and wanted me to come to his place" said Gabbie again. She then unpacked some clothes. A white sports bra with light blue trim, and a pair of light blue MMA shorts with white stripes down on its sides, a blue hair ribbon and a pair of white fingerless gloves. What caught her eye are the gloves, which had a red maple leaf on top and the Union Jack on the bottom. "Lucy… I know you're around here.." said Gabbie again.
She knew her friend Lucy Grange is missing her too, but her whereabouts are unknown. The last thing she unpacked from the package is a set of winter clothes to keep her warm. A long open white hoodie, a long white turtleneck undershirt, a pair of dark blue sweatpants and a pair of sneakers. She flipped the hoodie and saw a rather familiar symbol and name. The hoodie was trimmed in blue and had a blue maple leaf on its back and above it was DESJARDIN embroidered in a semicircle. "My maternal name..." said Gabbie. She felt that weird feeling that the truth may have been revealed.
Meanwhile, Daiki went out all by himself to pursue the jaguar Deviant that he almost killed. On his way, he crossed path with a mysterious silver-haired male Esper. The mysterious Esper glared at Daiki. "What do you seek? Vengeance or justice?" asked the Esper. "I was looking for the jaguar Deviant. I thought I defeated it but, someone dragged it away whilst it's unconscious" answered Daiki. "Well… he's one of the strongest Deviants out there. They call him Killer King. He used to be part of the infamous Blood Gear gang until its destruction in the hands of someone with the same blood as mine.. a fellow Transcendent" explained the Esper.
"Transcendent.. I never heard such word. Tell me" said Daiki. The Esper explained the origins of the Transcendents. They were descendants of Juno, the creator deity of the Espers' Homeworld and her guardians, the brave Angelus Warriors. There were six Angelus Warriors, led by the brave and powerful Lumino Angelus, who was said to be born of both light and darkness. However, all of the Angelus Warriors perished during the long war against Dark Nightmare and his forces. Lumino sacrificed himself to seal Dark Nightmare, while the others beaten back his army and died of their injuries. Before they die, they left descendants.
Those descendants would become the Transcendents, along with the pure-blood Transcendents from Juno. The Esper introduced himself as Junichi Higurashi, a descendant of one of the Angelus Warriors, Julius Angelus. "Well my name is Daiki Higurashi, nice to meet you, I guess?" answered Daiki. "You… you're not part of my clan. How dare you use my last name?! Who let you to do so?!" said Junichi angrily. "I did it because there was this Touka Higurashi person.. and I took her last name so Gabbie could recognize me" answered Daiki again.
"Touka… she was not of my clan. She was my wife. Tell me, what happened to her when I was away?" said Junichi. Daiki couldn't explain much, but he took Junichi to the tower. Irene explained what happened to Touka, and the silver-haired Esper boy mourned her disappearance.
On that day, Junichi swore to fight by Daiki and Gabbie's side, and to take Touka's place as Gabbie's mentor and Turquoise's secretary. Irene was pleased to hear, yet Hayato felt a bit uneasy with Junichi's presence. He doesn't seem to welcome the mysterious Esper into his ranks. "I have a feeling that pipsqueak Marika is planning something fishy behind this.." said Hayato.
