Chapter 14 - Omega Fury #7: Let's Hold Hands! We're Like a Big Family!

Everything still felt the same for Gabbie, even if the ones responsible for her partial loss of memory had been defeated for good and her life returned to normal. She still felt empty inside and wondered about her true last name. Was she not born as a Minato, but forced to adopt said last name by her father? Daiki then sat by his blonde girlfriend and cuddled her.

"Gabbie, it's been a while since we first met. You're my most precious girl, and I am very relieved that someone like you exists in this alien world. Even if you're cold and almost expressionless, I am always here for you. I will do anything to put a smile on your face" said Daiki affectionately. Gabbie blushed and never expected that Daiki would speak about her cold yet near-expressionless personality. She smiled a bit, as her cold heart slowly thawed thanks to Daiki's love.

Meanwhile, back in Irene's lab, she continued studying the stone slab that was found in Zahhab. Turned out that one of the Angelus Warriors, Aurora Angelus has descendants of her own. To her shock, the stone slab has a semi-accurate world map that was drawn back during ancient times. And it turned out, Aurora's descendants were based in the northern American continent, Canada to be exact.

"It can't be.. that means Gabbie could be a descendant of her?" said Irene. She then contacted Marika again via video call. The new CEO of Lazuline was shocked upon seeing the revelation that Irene found. She never expected to see a line of Transcendents to be originating from a foreign country outside Japan. To add fuel to the flame, Irene also sent Marika a pic of Gabbie's hoodie, which has her maternal family's name emblazoned on it.

"She was never born a Minato, she was born a Desjardin, but her family kept it secret so something that happened to the Takahitsujis would never happen outside Japan," said Marika, concluding the discovery. She never expected to find a lineage of Transcendents in a foreign country, as it's a rarity since most Transcendents are based in Japan, because Juno's followers were based there, and Dark Nightmare was sealed in the abyssal depths of Sagami Bay.

Just before Daiki and Gabbie made arrangements for their marriage, Irene broke the shocking news to the blonde Esper girl. Gabbie was very shocked to hear the fact that she was a Transcendent all along. She was unaware of it, and she probably forgot that her parents might kept a piece of history on the Desjardin family's lineage. She then tried to contact her mom on the phone, to see if she had anything related to her maternal family and the connection between them and Aurora Angelus.

"Hi, it's me, Gabbie. Mind if I tell you something, muh-mah? Do you still keep any artifacts regarding uh… our family?" said Gabbie nervously as she still felt a bit clammy and uneasy upon hearing the facts coming from Marika and Irene's discovery. Meanwhile, Daiki is studying the stone tablet. Upon his investigation, he saw what appears to be a tower-like structure located in Canada, on the makeshift map engraved within. "What is this? A tower?" said Daiki.

Marika was shocked to hear about Daiki's discovery through the video call. She did not expect such a structure to be built there. She then ordered Irene to send a team of explorers to discover and excavate the tower. Irene complied and dispatched several Lazuline explorers to Canada in search of the tower that was built by the descendants of Aurora Angelus. It was referred to as the "Ephemeral Sky Tower" by the ancient Transcendents. A huge shrine was built in honor of Aurora Angelus which also served as her final resting place before she died.

"Did I hear someone mentioning a tower? Oh, I think I remember that. Our family's ancestors built it. It is now located undersea though, below the depths of the northern coast of Canada. I heard that the waters around there are pretty turbulent, and some said a mysterious force is still powering that tower. Be careful!" said Gabbie's mother over the phone after hearing about the tower mentioned by Daiki earlier.

The discovery of the Ephemeral Sky Tower was a huge breakthrough for Lazuline, as it served as proof that Transcendents also existed outside Japan. Several more stone tablets and important artifacts were extracted from the tower's ruins for study. It seems that there are more than meets the eye for Gabbie. "I guess you are something important, a living treasure. That is why I would never let you slip away from my grasp, and I will do anything for you, even if I have to risk my life" said Daiki.

Gabbie teared up and cried in joy upon hearing Daiki's words. She finally left her expressionless self away in exchange for her true self, which she had been sealing for many years due to her seriousness and competitive life. She doesn't need to fight for glory back in Thailand anymore, she has someone worth more than a title and a trophy. Someone whom she could trust, cherish, and spend her time with. She could already imagine her marriage with Daiki, and her carrying the child of their love, born as elusive Transcendent-Afilian hybrids. A love between worlds, the Espers' Homeworld and Alterna, Daiki's homeworld.

"We truly came a long way, Dai-kun. Now I found out what truly matters in my life, and that is you! You protected me and fought alongside me. You taught me emotions and feelings. You even made me taste love, something that I never expressed for years. You are my mentor, my companion, and also, my guardian.." said Gabbie sincerely. She then cuddled Daiki and snuggled her face on the Afilian's chest. Daiki giggled and took Gabbie to a trip to Niigata to visit her grandfather. Her younger sister Rei would also follow.

And so, Gabbie's story came to an end, as she finally discovered the truth within her, rediscovered her emotions, and finally, found someone whom she could trust. As soon as the two arrived in Niigata, Gabbie gave Daiki a soft kiss on his forehead. "I love you…" said the Canadian Esper. Just as they arrived, a girl with a reddish-brown ponytail passed by. "Nyoro.." greeted the mysterious girl. Daiki just smiled and greeted her as she passed by.
