She slowly raised her head and the first person her eyes met with was none other than Leon, who stood beside the almighty Lorenzo Vicenzo, who was majestically seated on a sofa with his legs crossed and his white hair falling a bit over his face.
"Leon..." She unknowingly whispered in complete shock and Leon quickly broke eye contact with her.
She darted her eyes around, and without uttering a word, she got into the last line.
A young, mesmerizing woman who sat beside Lorenzo snapped her finger, and one of the female workers in suits hurried towards the door.
They shut the door and the young woman began the selection.
"One." She called, and the first young lady walked out with a big smile on her face.
Lorenzo's golden eyes examined her from head to toe, and he slightly shook his head with what seemed like disdain in his eyes.
The woman, who went by the name of Lilith, glanced at the workers, and the workers quickly escorted the lady out of the room.
She called out the next person, and just like the last, she was rejected and escorted out of the room.
This went on until there were only three ladies left, including Diana.
Four girls had been picked out and only one more was needed, so Diana and two other girls were the only competitors remaining.
Lilith gazed at all three of them, and a smile ensued on her face as her gaze fixed on Diana.
"Hmm..." She stood up from her seat and walked towards Diana.
She scrutinized her from head to toe and reached out her hand to touch her fiery red hair, but Diana, who absolutely hated such actions, dodged, causing Lilith to raise her brows in a bit of surprise.
"Apologies, ma'am, but I do not like people touching my hair." She clarified, and Lilith slowly nodded.
"Forgive my rudeness, then." She apologized and walked back to the sofa to sit down beside Lorenzo.
"Alright, I have come to my conclusion. For the last selection, we will be picking the redhead." She announced, and quite surprised, Lorenzo turned his attention to Diana.
He analyzed her from head to toe and, unsure why Lilith would pick her, he turned to look at her.
"Mother, why her?" He asked, showing he had a bit of a dislike for Diana.
"She's very beautiful. Out of the three of them, you can see that she's the best. "
She clarified, and he shifted his gaze to Diana.
He examined her yet again and took a slight breath on seeing that his mother was right.
Lilith chuckled softly and turned to another young man that stood beside her.
"Loki, escort them out." She said to the young man, who was none other than the guy that Lisa had called a douchebag.
He and Leon seemed to be Lorenzo's personal men.
Loki nodded at Lilith and obediently sent the two ladies out.
Diana and the other four chosen ladies were the only ones left in the room.
"Ahem, since you four have been selected, you will no longer live in your respected residences, rather you will be living with him in his royal mansion, each occupying a room. You need not worry about clothing or any of those necessities, because it has all already been arranged for you."
She explained to them, and Diana slowly shifted her gaze to Leon.
"Um...I have some really important stuff that belongs to me. I need to get them from the second floor, so please pardon me."
Lilith gazed at her for a few moments before slowly nodding her head.
"Alright. You are free to go get it."
Diana smiled in appreciation and turned around.
She walked out of the room and made her way to the second floor.
She pushed the door of her room open and the moment she stepped in, she slammed it shut in frustration.
How could she be this unfortunate?
Someone she met and befriended, or perhaps liked quite a bit, turned out to be the personal bodyguard of her enemy.
"Fuck it!!" Her hands balled into tight fists and she walked towards the closet.
She grabbed the backpack and, without wasting anymore time, she stepped out of the room and returned back to the last floor.
"Loki, Leon, please escort them to the car so that they may settle in before evening time."
Lilith ordered, and Loki and Leon nodded.
They strolled towards the five of them and motioned for them to follow.
Together, they all proceeded out of the room and walked outside to a white limousine.
The bodyguards standing outside the hotel pulled the door open for them and they all got in.
Leon found himself seated opposite Diana, and as awkward as it was, they both found themselves avoiding making eye contact with each other.
The ride went in utter silence and it took them four hours before they arrived at the royal mansion, which one would call a completely white house.
It looked like heaven, which was no doubt why it was called a royal mansion.
The security at the gate pulled the gate open, and the driver carefully drove inside, then parked in the parking lot.
Bodyguards rushed toward them and pulled the door open for them.
They all stepped down and followed behind Leon and Loki, who were walking ahead of them.
The two bodyguards, standing at each side of the huge white door, pulled it open for them, with their heads bowed in respect, and they all strode inside.
Loki ordered the maids and they showed each of the ladies, including Diana, their rooms.
Diana pushed the door open and the moment she stepped inside, her body stood still and her jaw dropped in absolute awe.
"Amazing..." was the first comment that rolled off her tongue.
"Do you like it?" A familiar voice sounded behind her, and she turned around to see Leon standing with a half-smile visible on his baby face.
His blue eyes stared at her and he used his fingers to awkwadly brush back his jet black hair.
