Chereads / Break The Devil’s Heart / Chapter 25 - By Who?

Chapter 25 - By Who?

"Your stupidity is too much. It's already getting on my nerves." She angrily spat out and the maids, including the four ladies, who were standing still in complete shock, gasped heavily.

They slowly shifted their gazes to Diana, and the youngest lady among them, with blonde hair, clutched her heart for fear that Diana was already a dead woman.

Flora was Mr. Vicenzo's favorite woman, whom he treated with special care, so Diana hitting Flora, was a very huge crime, which could cost her her life.

No, let's not talk about just Mr. Vicenzo. What about Flora's father?

He was one of the richest businessmen in the world. The top four, so Diana is absolutely in hot water for slapping Flora...

Flora, who was still clutching her flushed cheek, turned her head and glared at Diana in fury.

"How dare you slap me!" She yelled as she stood up from the floor and rushed towards Diana.

She lifted her hand to slap her yet again, but this time it wasn't Diana who stopped her, rather it was Lorenzo, who had arrived just in time to see Diana about to get her face smacked.

"What is going on here?" He asked in a deep voice, and Flora slowly turned her head to look at him with tears in her eyes.

"Sweetheart!" She rushed into his arms and hugged him tightly.

Lorenzo gently patted her on the back and fixed his gaze on Diana.

"What happened?" He asked with his brow arched in a questioning manner, and Diana shrugged with no tinge of remorse on her face.

"Ask your sweetheart." She said, and before a surprised Lorenzo could utter a word, she turned around and walked towards the elevator, which took her up to the second floor.

She got out when the door was pushed open and made her way into her room.

She slammed the door shut and furiously punched the door.

Honestly, if she continues like this, she doubts that she will be able to succeed at this mission. Gosh!! She was supposed to be making Lorenzo like her, not dislike her!

She groaned in deep annoyance and hurried towards the bed to take her phone, but recalling that she had lost it, more frustration built up within her.

"You have got to be kidding me!"

She quickly shook her head to calm herself down and proceeded downstairs.

She strolled towards the living room, which was now devoid of anyone, and walked towards the young maid from earlier.

"Hello." She said, and the maid turned to look at her.

"Miss Diana, how may I help you?" The young maid asked, and a half smile emerged on Diana's face.

"Sorry to disturb you, but is there any house phone I can use? I lost my phone and I need to make an important call."

She explained, and the maid slightly nodded her head. "Oh, there is one in your room, near the closet. You can use it. Also, you need not worry. I will let the master know about the loss of your phone. You will be getting one by tomorrow."

The maid explained, and quite surprised, Diana's brows raised.

"I see. Well, thank you. What's your name, by the way?" She inquired, and a sudden smile formed on the young maid's face.

"Lily. My name is Lily." She replied, and Diana nodded.

"Your name is pleasant. It's beautiful." She said with a smile on her lips and walked away, leaving the young maid to gaze at her disappearing back.

Diana arrived upstairs and she had yet to open her door when someone grabbed her harshly by the arm and turned her around, slamming her back against the wall.

"Bitch!" The person who was Flora spat out on her face, and Diana shut her eyes to suppress the anger that had suddenly regenerated again.

"What is it, Miss Flora?" She asked, and Flora snickered with a lethal expression on her face.

"Listen here redhead, I know you're the one sent to do the job, but while you're at it, you better keep yourself in check. Please avoid getting on my nerves, because you will regret it. That attitude you gave down there, it will be the end of you if it repeats itself again. I will pardon you for today, since you are new, but next time... heh..."

She smiled dangerously, and Diana, who was holding back extreme laughter, shook her head in amusement and snatched her hand back.

"We will see." She said and pushed the door of her room open.

She stepped in and shut it behind her, leaving Flora to stare at the door with an annoyed look on her face.

.....

Diana walked towards the closet and glanced at its left. A white telephone came into view, causing her to cackle softly.

She had come near this place, but she literally had no idea that there was a telephone hanging on the wall.

She shook her head and took it.

She pressed Lisa's number and proceeded to call her.

A few seconds passed, and Lisa picked up the call.

"Hello..." Her voice resounded from the other side of the phone, and a soft smile spread across Diana's face.

"Lisa..." She said her name and, quite surprised, Lisa stayed silent for a few moments before speaking.

"Diana, is that you?" She asked, and Diana laughed lowly.

"Yes, I lost my phone, so I am calling you from another line."

She clarified.

"I see. Did you get in? " Lisa inquired with curiosity in her tone, and Diana nodded.

"Yes I did." She giggled, and quite happy, Lisa took a relieved breath.

"That's good. How do you-"

Lisa has yet to finish her question when several knocks came at Diana's door, causing her to cut the call.

She hurried to the door and pulled it open to see Lily standing with a nervous expression on her face.

"What's wrong..." She asked, and Lily anxiously bit her lower lip.

"Miss Diana, you're wanted downstairs." She reported, and Diana's brows furrowed.

"By who?" She inquired, and Lily fiddled with her fingers, showing she was afraid for reasons she couldn't tell.

"By-by Master. He looks really angry and am sure that he's going to punish you badly for what happened earlier."

She explained, and as though she couldn't care less, Diana rolled her eyes and adjusted her white shirt.

She walked past Lily and ambled towards the elevator, which took her straight to the last floor.

She got out once the door pushed open and walked into the living room.

She halted when she arrived, and the first person her eyes fell on was Lorenzo, who was seated with his legs crossed and his white hair banded up into a ponytail.

Beside him was seated Flora, who was endlessly clinging onto him.

Her face scrunched in disdain at the sight of this and, without saying a single word, she walked to the sofa opposite them and proceeded to sit down. However, Lorenzo raised one of his slender fingers up, indicating he didn't want her to sit down.

Diana, who was halfway seated, halted and straightened up.

She let out a deep breath and instantly became lost when Lorenzo raised his head to look at her.
