Vin quietly pushed the door open, not wanting to disturb any lesson going on.
Luckily, there wasn't.
The class A, Rank D, held the award for the most quiet and calm class in the training.
Walking in, the students all turned towards his direction.
"Oh, it's the new transfer student from Rank F!" A boy said with a confused look. "Why would the council promote a rank F to D?"
"He's an exceptional student Ivan, and I bet he should've been in Rank A" Akio who suddenly appeared out of nowhere told the boy, making the students coordinate themselves, taking a seat.
"Yes Sir!" Ivan said with her head low.
Just a total of five students, including Vin, made the class a bit small. Although the room was large.
"Vin, take a seat" Akio instructed, the suspicion on his face couldn't be wiped out.
Hearing this, Vin moved away like a slug, dragging his legs then sat down on a vacant chair, beside a boy who waved at him with a friendly smile.
"Hi?"
"Welcome, I'm Eden" he introduced.
"I'm Vin, Vincent"
"I heard of your name from Mr Akio. Is it true you can do three consecutive spells?"
"W-"
"Today's class starts now!" Akio thoroughly interrupted their conversation with a clap.
The entire class changed into a jungle, making all the students fall on wet grasses which looked like meshes.
"Your test starts now, survive!" Akio continued, "If you get attacked by a beast and it 'kills' you, your score is Zero and you will be transported back to the class. If you don't get killed and bring back the Evernight Flowers, a total of 50 would be added to your assessment."
"Any Time until this ends?" Ivan asked.
"Ten minutes! Your time starts now!" Saying this, Akio faded leaving the students to themselves.
Immediately this happened, Ivan stepped up on a rock with his hands clasped together, "Since I'm the class Captain, I would want us to work to-"
"Your speech is taking time, we don't have enough!" Eden told him as the others nodded.
"Yes!" Lucas, another boy, exclaimed. "We don't know what would attack us?"
"It's Spidux" Vin said, making all eyes land on him.
"A Spidux?" Ivan questioned.
"Spidux, a creature having the likeness of a giant scorpion, which camouflage with Its environment in order to get close to its prey. With an impenetrable body, it weak point is at the chest, the lowest and trickiest part of its body." Vin explained as they all nodded.
"How do we know w-" before Eden could complete his word, a shooting purple poison splashed from the air, aiming for Lucas.
"LUCAS DUCK!" Vin screamed.
The boy immediately went down, Missing the attack which aimed for his head.
"Are we to fight or run?"
"RUN! WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME!" Ivan told them.
Without thinking twice, they all ran away into a cave which seemed like a safe haven.
"Help!" A shrill cry from outside made Vin turn behind.
The Spidux held the boy, pouring Poison on his arm. Defending himself, the boy created a barrel but it slowly broke.
"We need to help him!" Vin said, but was surprised just Eden stood.
"Where is Ivan and Lucas?" He asked Eden.
"They've gone to collect the Evernight Flower" Eden replied, not knowing why Vin asked when he knew.
"Those selfish humans. The whole aim of this test is working together as a team. Not just one would get the entire 50 points" Vin ran towards the boy, with a whole level of seriousness.
"Should I help?" Eden, who was left alone, asked.
"YES!."
From the classroom, Akio crossed his legs, watching how the students performed.
"Vin surely gets the whole aim of everything. Strange!." He said, petting an ice dragon.
______
"Get away from him!" Vin said, launching an attack.
"Yeah! I may look scared but don't get it into your head!" Eden trembled saying this.
Meanwhile, the Spidux wasn't paying attention to Eden or Vin, his main aim was to attack and destroy the boy underneath his claws.
"What are we going to do? The Spidux isn't even giving us a listening ear!" Eden complained.
"We kill it!" Vin's cold voice brought chills down Eden's spine as he could feel the urge and rush to destroy the creature.
"Okay?" Eden said as his hands sparked purple flames. "Should we burn it?"
Saying this, he allowed the flames to set ablaze on the Spidux, only to be surprised when the creature shook away the flames from its body.
"Fire can't penetrate its shell, just its chest or when left vulnerable," Vin told him.
"Then lightning would…" Eden again shut his eyes, invoking a powerful outburst of countless thunder sounds, from the now gray skies, a large lightning landed on the creature, destroying everything in its surrounding.
"What?" He went dumb only to see the creature still standing with the boy alive.
"Fire, don't work on it! Neither does lighting! Can't you understand?" Vin shouted out with frustration, already rushing with his fist clenched.
"Then why do you attack with a f-"
'SMASH'
Eden's eyes went wide open, his jaw dropped as he saw what he couldn't believe.
Just a blow from Vin's fist scattered the entire Spidux shell. The body became vulnerable to any attack, any.
Akio on the other hand, who was peacefully drinking his tea and watching, spat it all out.
"An iron fist? One punch? How on earth did he destroy that shell with just a punch?." Akio could not understand what he saw. Believing it was far from reality.
Meanwhile, Eden's jaws remained dropped. Before saying, "You never told me you had the strength of ten thousand men!"
"There is no time for chit chatting, destroy the Spidux before it regenerates" Vin dragged the boy who couldn't stop shivering from fear from the ground, watching the creature let out a screeching sound.
"Can it regenerate?!"
"Yes! Now do it!"
"Okay?" Focusing both fire and lightning into one energy, Eden blasted the creature's body, enabling him to hit the chest.
As the creature turned into ash, the trio ran down into the cave with less than four minutes on the clock.
