Tamara POV.
I'm Tamara Morningstar, the only child of Franco Morningstar, the most powerful Alpha in the east, and Lolita, a regular she-wolf.
And today was one of the most important days of my life. As a result, my walk is a mix of haste and excitement.
"I'm curious to find out who owns the scent that pervades everyone. Hopefully, my mate is a good one. "As I follow my friend's scent, I utter.
I'm not looking for a strong mate; I'm looking for a loving and caring mate because I'm already the strongest in our pack.
I arrived at the park, and from my vantage point, I could see the source of the fragrance luring me in.
"It's David Halter... Dear Moon Goddess, thank you for providing me with such a gentle and loving mate, "I muttered to myself as I looked at David.
He was in the midst of the entire pack. That's why I was hesitant to approach him, but I dared to speak to him in the end.
"David..." I called as soon as I came to a halt in his back.
"Shit!" As he turned to face me, David cursed. As he looked at me, the frustration on his face was immediately visible.
"The thing is, I am your mate," I murmured, unable to raise my voice because I was embarrassed by the presence of the pack.
Because of my declaration, the entire pack laughed.
But not David... what I see on his face is disgust and shame, which makes me wonder what he is thinking.
"Poor David, his mate is the pack's strongest!"
"This is a good thing, ha ha ha! David isn't very strong, so whenever there's trouble, or we need to hunt, we'll take his mate!"
"Come along with me!" David makes a remark and moves away from the group.
"About that... I can hunt on your behalf because I'm already used to it," I say as I follow him.
"Tamara Morningstar, I, David Halter, have rejected you as my mate!" David roared.
I wasn't expecting this rejection, so I didn't respond right away.
I was just dazed as I stared at David's angry expression.
"If you're joking, it's not funny," I said, unconvinced by what was going on."
I'm not kidding. Can't you see how the pack is mocking me? The fact is that you are unsuitable as a mate! I want a gentle and loving mate, not someone like you who is more potent than me!" David yelled.
"So you're rejecting me because I'm strong? Is that your reasoning?" After a few moments, I was able to inquire.
Despite the pain in my heart, I became steadfast and calm.
"I can be a friend, but not a mate, so accept my rejection!" David stated unequivocally.
"I had no idea that being powerful was a problem. I thought we were friends, so I was overjoyed when I discovered you were my mate. "While wiping away my tears, I said.
"Yes, there is a problem. You being the strongest...much more powerful, even more robust than the Alpha, is causing issues in our pack, "David stated.
"Very well then...I, Tamara Morningstar, accepted David Halter's rejection to be his mate," I clenched my fists and looked him in the eyes. I raised my head proudly and showed no sign of weakness.
And David didn't seem to like my tenacity. "Don't you realize? All of the men in the pack despised you. Nobody will accept you as a mate!" David yelled a reason for everyone to look around.
"Enough! I don't need to hear what you have to say; having a worthless mate like you is humiliating!" I take a sharp look at him before walking away.
"No one is worth it to you if I am pathetic!" David yelled.
"You are correct! Nobody in this pack deserves me! I'll never be ashamed of my strength! Because that is exactly who I am! And I don't think it's my fault you're weak! That this pack's member is frail!" I'm yelling.
I didn't care if the pack heard me because my rage had erupted. I saw David's surprise and retreat. This is the first time he has witnessed me becoming enraged. Impact This is the first time I've ever gotten agitated.
"Tamara, be careful what you say!" As he approached us, the Alpha sobbed loudly, "It's not the end of the world if your mate rejects you. And it's not the reason to despise the entire pack if they don't accept you, either, "He continued.
"Yes, it isn't the end of the world for me! In fact, I am relieved that a weakling mate was the first to reject me. I don't deserve him, and I certainly don't deserve this pack!" I declared, my gaze fixed on the group.
"You!"
"Yes, I am! Tamara Morningstar, I refuse to be a part of this pack! From this day forward, I will have no other connection with any of you!" I declared, proudly raising my head.
I couldn't wait to hear from our Alpha. I turned around and dashed out of there.
I could hear the murmurs of those who had been there, but I didn't waste any more time.
.....
"What have you done, Tamara? You've reactivated your rage! How are you going to tell your mother that you've turned rogue?" As I walked back home, I murmured.
Although David's rejection was heartbreaking, it wasn't what I was concerned about... I was acutely aware of my mother's displeasure with the decision I had made.
However, what I expected to happen, which was to enrage my mother, Lolita, did not occur...
"You made the correct choice. I don't want you to be associated with such a helpless creature. You also made the correct decision to depart from the pack."
I hugged my mother tightly and apologized, "Thank you, mom, and I'm sorry if I didn't consult you on my decision," I mumbled.
"Gather your belongings. We'll be out of here as soon as possible."
"Where are we going?" I asked, letting go of my mother.
"We're going to my friend's pack, the Phantom pack," she says.
I look at my mom in disbelief. Phantom City is led by the most robust pack on the entire continent. They say their Alpha is young and really handsome, but I don't believe it.
"Huh, strongest my ass!" I exclaimed.
