Chapter 1 - Sweets that Tasted Bitter After

A sharp whistle was heard among the lush greens. It was from a long violet dress with a vine design on its skirt. This dress happens to be worn by a young maiden named Ivy Lorraine Enarol, a princess of Enarol, the Jaded Kingdom. She was chasing another young lassie – though she was not a princess this time but a mere peasant. The peasant noticed Ivy was losing her breath and stopped her fast pace. Little did she know that Ivy was acting and was caught surprised when a palm that felt like feathers touched her arm. The princess laughed cutely as Venice Loraine laughed softly and made a sweet smirk. The princess then invited Venice to go to the humble treehouse they had made together. Venice wondered: why a princess would be so kind and sweet to a peasant like her. In the kingdom of Enarol, peasants are either the descendants of banished criminals or people abandoned by their parents – albeit known or not. Peasants had no right to have surnames, hence Venice's name. Venice, abandoned by her parents, was found by Krixia Ayne Ignacio and raised together with her kind husband, a knight named Jian Dale of the Ignacio clan. It is clear that Venice has her doubts, yet she chooses to let go still because the very woman in front of her, holding her hands, is her very beloved.

A dark glooming sound was heard in the distance. A dark-greenish purple portal had just opened in front of the bridge that separates land from the island where the kingdom of Enarol sits. Venice watched in panic as she heard a loud fall. Venice rushed towards Ivy and soon caught her hand. Ivy tried to shake Venice's hand off her and argued that her people were in danger. The kingdom of Enarol was just a few kilometers away from the island they were on. Venice wanted to come with Ivy. But Ivy was in too much panic and left without Venice – to Venice's view, that is. Ivy was scared of putting Venice in danger, so she decided to leave her on the island where she couldn't escape so quickly. Venice was standing alone by the beach as she watched Ivy sprint on the water – so helpless and hopeless, she stood.
