Chereads / Venice's Ivy / Chapter 4 - The Fallen Anthea

Chapter 4 - The Fallen Anthea

A clucking witch arrives. She introduced herself as the Fallen Anthea, the Witch of Shadows, Samantha. Her lips began to smirk, and her face showed satisfaction. She was satisfied as she saw her master's dream start to form. The army they led is showing immense progress. She was confident that they had already won. However, this would soon be her greatest mistake. Ivy decided to speak first and mocked her master's bidding. Of course, this made the wretched witch mad. Samantha's face started to stretch and deform into a vile, ugly abomination. Her form now indeed resembled her title. A beautiful flower fell into the darkness: a fallen Anthea. Shocked and horrified by the sudden transformation, Ivy and the two captains readied for a fierce battle. Ivy charged toward the abomination while the two captains went around the monstrous creature they lay their eyes on. As Ivy strikes a down cut, the Captain deflects the creature's attacks to not let any get past them.

On the other hand, the vice-captain strikes a rapid horizontal strike on the abomination. However, Ces' attacks simply didn't hit as the creature's body suddenly became a shadow. They have taken notice of Samantha's title, Witch of Shadows. They can not simply attack Samantha's body as it would pass through instead. They had to find a way to bypass her shadowy ability.

The sun had just passed halfway to night from noon. This battle lasted only for several minutes, yet the vice-captain was already on the verge of distress. The Captain scolded her younger sister as she desperately tried to strike Samantha. While the Captain continued to scald her sister, Venice went running away. Ivy saw what Venice was doing and nodded as if agreeing to help. The Kingdom of Enarol is quite extravagant as it has had no enemies for centuries. A decade ago, King Rick Enarol of the Jaded Kingdom made a massive convex glass. He reasoned that this was a sign of God shining his light on the people of Enarol. To assure the city of Ginaryu doesn't burn because of the glass building, it was made of plastic that looks like glass. For the convex glass to actually magnify, it had to have a transparent medium within. Venice thought that if she could make a hole above the building, add water within, and support it within high-pressure winds, they may have a chance to overlight the surroundings. While this might burn everything in its path, it would surely defeat a shadow. Venice made a run for it. While she had planned to go to the castle and jump there, Ivy helped Venice control the artificial river and lift her up. She managed to make a hole and started filling up the convex building.

A sudden interference stopped Venice from controlling the water. All the soldiers felt a sudden increase in pressure -- another portal had opened. However, this one is much larger than the rest. Another witch has arrived whilst in a palanquin before the land of Enarol.
