The members of the group were given the opportunity to investigate a statue that stood somewhere around one meter in height.
The statue took the form of a person, with two arms extending to the sides and two legs firmly planted on the stone floor in front of it.
However, the statue did not have any identifying characteristics at all. Its skull had a visage that was completely devoid of any distinguishing features.
At the same time, it seemed as though his limbs were formed of cement because they were devoid of hands and feet.
The women, at last, got a decent view of the monument as they walked away from Brian and toward their destination. As a reflexive measure, the muscles in their necks began to tremble.
When Brian finally got close to the statue, he did it in a methodical manner while he was on one knee on the ground. Brian knelt down. The location that registered as number seventy on Brian's meter was just in front of the monument.
They all complained of a slight burning or stinging sensation in their eyes, a tolerable level of pain that forced them to avoid the sight.
Neferet looked down one of the paths quickly, Shane and Armin too, while Rebeca looked away to see Brian's back and, raising her voice, yelled, "What the hell do you think you're doing!?"
Rebeca's voice made everyone look at Brian again.
As he had his hands on the waist of the statue and turned to see the group, he said, "This statue bothers me. I'm going to break it."
Neferet frowned at Armin and asked, "Brian, you can't break it, and what if it's dangerous?"
Turning to examine the statue, Brian asked, "Dangerous, how?"
Neferet moved over to the statue and began to examine it from all angles. She said, "It could be a beast or a trapped terror."
The girl spoke while supporting her chin with her palm and biting the inside of her lip subtly, "That has the height of a child; It could be a specter or some kind of demi-human."
Brian looked at the girl and asked, "Well, I don't feel anything when I see it, do you?"
The group fell silent as Brian shrugged his shoulders, saying, "Aside, what's the problem?"
Looking intently at the statue where his eyes should be, Brian said while his face darkened with the brightness of his eyes, "If it is a beast or a terror, then when it is released, we kill it, and that's it."
The place was enveloped in a profound silence that was only broken by a sudden outburst of blue light that came from behind the speakers.
Although the gang hadn't noticed it yet, they could still see the door from where they were standing in the plaza, as well as the blue mist that was being produced by the door.
The group became more alert as a direct result of what Shane had said, and they started jumping around.
"The door." Turning to see Armin while holding his rifle firmly, Shane said, "Could someone else come?"
The instant all of the individuals in the gathering turned their attention to the door, and there was an abrupt silence that stretched over the entire room.
Brian twisted his head sharply in the instant that he sensed a weight being removed from his shoulders.
The shoulders of the statue served as a support for the arms of the statue.
When Rebeca smacked him in the back of the head, he was deep in thought, and his pupils were gradually taking the shape of an oval. However, his concentration was broken.
"You can't break it. If you release something and we're fighting it, they'll take us from behind," she said.
Brian continued to look at the statue while he spoke, never turning his gaze away from it as he stood up and moved back a few steps, "Well, what's the plan of action then?"
Neferet, who had been looking into Brian's eyes, turned her focus to the little statue as she moved her head. Previously, she had been looking into Brian's eyes.
Its dimensions were substantially less when contrasted with those of the statue.
He could see that the statue reached exactly to his waist and was the same height as him. After clapping her hands, she commented, "We split up."
Neferet looked up to examine the group, "Two of us will have to look for an advantageous position to take the group that comes by surprise, and the other three will have to face them head-on. There is only one way to go up the hill."
When Neferet turned her head, she saw that the other people in the group were looking at her in a very intentional manner.
Brian was observing the other people in the room through pupils that moved in a very sluggish manner while he had one foot propped up on the statue's chest.
He sat there anticipating that the other people in the group would grow preoccupied while he moved the statue.
