EVIE
The dungeon was like a room with an air conditioner at the lowest temperature possible. And the only warmth that could have kept Evie from freezing is from a small, thick blanket.
Fortunately, Evie managed to keep herself heated so she could have a good night's sleep. She put her arms under her legs, which are inside her gown. Her entire body curled like a ball inside her white dress.
The wooden table that was provided for criminals turned to kindle as Evie used it to make a bonfire.
"Is the female human here?" a soft feminine voice woke Evie up from her sleep.
Evie's eyes were still closed, and she wondered if she was just dreaming.
'Why is she asking for a female human? Aren't we all humans here? Do they imprison animals, too? Or most of their criminals are males?'
Her forehead scrunched, thinking that the question used to find what the visitor was looking for seemed absurd.
