"So the King is a control freak," Evie muttered after gobbling down a bite of her breakfast.
Fortunately, the breakfast in the prison wasn't as bad as what she saw in the movies. There is no bland soup with a few pieces of rice. But it's almost like the same food that she ate during the ball. Or maybe, perhaps, they are leftovers. She doesn't care.
She has experienced worse.
'It could be the reason why he was helping us leave Edin,' she pondered how he tried to help them find the hole, even though he was sick.
But as she was contemplating on the turn of events, she also recalled him saving her life. He could have just allowed her to be eaten by those monsters.
'And what's with that shield that he used? How could he generate that force?' Evie stopped eating and glanced sideways with knotted eyebrows.
