A long unsettling silence followed. Detective Cooper saw the look on her partner's face. He was weighing her words and it was not clear yet whether he agreed with them or not.
"Look, I know how it looks, but I assure you that it's for the best." She took a quick glance at Agent Peters who seemed too engrossed with what he was doing to give a rat's ass about what they were discussing.
"Yes, getting the warrant from Captain Walter might seem to be such an uphill task but it is not impossible. We just have to convince her to see things from our perspective."
Detective Miller was eying her from the corner of his eyes. "Well, I don't think I can even see things from your perspective myself. What exactly are we going to do at a morgue?"
Detective Cooper sighed. "The security camera could not catch the vampire's face, right?"
