Carlo Kennedy was undoubtedly one of the most highly respected and influential men in the city. He was very popular among the masses, partly because he was a werewolf but that was not an independent factor.
He was most popular because of his long-upheld philosophy of believing in one world where humans, vampires, and werewolves existed together in peace and harmony. That belief fetched him the favor of the people and paved ways for him that only his money could not pave.
He had a good influence on the people. He was the kind of man anyone could easily listen to because of his charismatic manner of speaking, even a person with evil intentions. This was what made his name appear on Detective Hanson's list of suspects.
Vlad Keddrick on the other hand was less charismatic than his counterpart, Carlo Kennedy or Vanessa Winthrop. He was a vampire which meant that even though he had been declared harmless, some people still felt uneasy around him.
