Detective Hanson had fallen silent. Vanessa knew that in those next couple of seconds that followed, he'd been doing a lot of brain work on the case. It was not like this was the first time she was being investigated. She knew the drill.
Vanessa was startled when she heard the voice of Detective Hanson on the line again.
"Tell me," Detective Hanson urged. "What's your routine like?"
Vanessa swallowed hard. She'd never seriously thought about this before and now that she had to talk about it, it seemed like some uphill task to begin to think about what she did every twenty-four hours. She struggled to keep her thoughts running.
"I__uhm__I attend a lot of meetings, Detective. Some of which I am not at liberty to discuss with you right now."
"That's okay," Detective Hanson interrupted. "I just need to know what you do round the clock. The details are not important, at least not yet."
That made sense.
