Chapter 8 - DIM STAR

According to an astrological perspective, Luna, with the star sign Aquarius, is the most suitable partner for Bintang, whose Gemini. This couple has unlimited energy and hates wasting time. Both have the same fast way of thinking to give each other interesting new ideas. And finally, they depend on each other. Not only physically but also intellectually. This bond is rarely found in other couples. They are both independent and interdependent on the other hand. They dare to take on challenges and like to spend time alone.

That's what the zodiac says this week.

The most intoxicating challenge is financial matters. As the saying goes, money is not everything, but money can be evil and destroy everything in time.

Bintang always falls into debt. He never hesitates to swipe credit cards for fun, entertainment, hanging out at leading hot spots, and even tends to be over-spending, but he is never disciplined in paying the debt. So the bill from month to month contains all the same, financial fees, interests, late charges, stamp duty paid off, and various other charges.

Unfortunately, that is not the case for family needs, even having much money he wouldn't easily spend on household necessities. So by the end of the month, for things such as electricity, telephone, house installments, and all basic needs, never expect it to be smooth. He would say, "Pay the bill? Don't you have anything to do?"

So, only when things get worse, the water is sealed, the telephone disconnected and electricity shut off, then he just starts to manage to settle the bill.

Even to buy milk, Bintang would answer, "That's a liability," he argued, even though he laughed. That's not a joke. Seriously. So for the sake of mental health, it was Luna who took over the household affairs, while Bintang only handled expenses for his business affairs, and of course… his credit card.

"Mas, Nany said, yesterday someone from the bank called, they left a message to pay off your the credit card. Otherwise, our kids will be kidnapped." Said Luna anxiously in the car coming home from work.

Bintang threw the cigarette smoke out of his mouth. A faint smile was caught. Huh, in the past, that was the style she liked the most. The impression is really cool and makes her nervous, and sometimes curious. It feels like life will be safe and peaceful beside him. All affairs will be clear with the principle of deliberation to reach a consensus, well, and resolve amicably.

But now, uh, if there was a gun, I'd just stick it to his head, and DORR! Game Over!

It's been almost five minutes but not a single answer has been heard, even though cigarette smoke has gone back and forth from his lips.

Luna turned the radio off.

"How do you think, I want to hear your comment." she exclaimed impatiently.

"Yeah... just face it," replied Bintang calmly.

"Always! Face it. Isn't there any other answer?"

"What else should we do, do we have to face it?"

"Face it alone won't solve the problem. You need action not just saying faced it but later ignoring it. We need action, mas, action. What is your action?"

It looks like Bintang doesn't listen. Or listen to it but it goes into the left ear and leaves the same left ear, not even crossing the right ear. She doesn't know what's in his mind, it looks like Bintang is really drowning in it.

"Will our financial life go on like this? Never-ending fighting just because of money? There are so many examples of households falling apart because of this problem, do we'll add more? Please, let's think about and discuss to find a way out. This is super serious." one moment paused, "Each time has its own problem. If it's not solved, the problem will double or increase. And procrastinating is the same as a new problem..."

Bintang stared at the pavement without comment.

But the next day, being reported that his credit card was closed. From the results of the negotiations, Bintang only paid half to the bank, half of which was divided fifty-fifty between him and his debt collector. Apparently, this is what he likes, a challenge, besides maybe really doesn't have money.

One afternoon, Luna found Bintang's store was dark and closed. Luna thought maybe because the lights went out. But the lamp of the grocery shop beside is on. Luna stopped by, buy a tissue, and asked.

"It's not a blackout, the electricity is sealed because they haven't paid...." Answered the shopkeeper next door.

Luna was surprised to hear that. Bintang never talked. He solved all his problems himself as much as he could. Sometimes it makes her feel awkward,

Luna only knows, if suddenly in her heart a feeling of pity... it means Bintang is in difficulty
