Hunter's POV
She had already given up. I could tell by the way she leaned into me, she didn't think our relationship would survive the truth that tomorrow holds.
She didn't think our bond was strong enough to take that hit.
And it's all my fault. Our friendship was built on lies that even I can't defend. I was so into my thoughts, I didn't realize Chase had taken away the menu from my hand until Ash volunteered to order. Violet unwrapped her arm from mine and went with him. Putting my elbows on the table, I groaned resting my head on my hands. This isn't how it's supposed to go. I wanted to make this day special.
"You don't have to do it, you know."
I looked up at Chase, who was scrolling through his phone, "What do you mean?"
He sighed, finally putting the phone down and looking back towards the counter where they both stood, arguing over something. I smiled as Violet hit Ash on the head, immediately shutting him up.
