Time stopped as I just sat, staring at the faces above. In the blink of an eye, everything shattered. My life was a lie.

I was so focused on finding out the secrets, I didn't even realise that the secret was me.
I felt tears prick my eyes as Hunter supported me up. His hand wrapped around my waist.
To hold me up?
For reassurance?
I didn't know as I stared at the man who claimed to be my father.
Hunter's face was calm in contrast to his harsh tone, "Why did you tell her like this?"
He knew.
Ofcourse he did. I was the stupid one here.
"Leave me." My voice came out weaker than expected as I tried to remove his hand.
"Violet, I-"
"I said leave me ." I detached myself from him, trying to stand taller in front of the man, my voice stoic as I uttered the words I'd always believed in. "My father was Dave Meyers."
"No, he wasn't." He shook his head and gave me a sad smile.
I swallowed down the lump in my throat, "Dave was my father."
