Three full weeks of struggle for Sheina to be able to get back up after the two major surgeries she underwent. The doctor said that her recovery was fairly good because Sheina didn't even have any memory injuries at all. He remembered everything clearly and he could move all his limbs except for the part of the arm that indeed still needed time to fully heal.
His arm bone wasn't really broken, there was only a crack that took time to recover and to make sure his condition was as stable and healthy as before, Oliver didn't let him come to the office to do anything. Even the man asked the hospital to keep Sheina longer in the hospital so that there was a reason for her not to come to the office.
"I owe Mrs. Bill." Sheina's whining.
"I've taken over the case and it's now being dealt with by the police." Oliver replied.
Sheina sighed deeply, "Did he come to see me?" He asked.
Oliver shook his head softly. "There is one thing you need to know, but not now." Oliver didn't want Sheina's exaggerated response that might have occurred when she heard the news about Mrs. Bill to affect her healing process which was actually near perfect at this time.
"What are you hiding from me?" Sheina asked Oliver. The man could not keep this secret from Sheina, because he had expected that when Sheina woke up with a recovered memory, the first question he would ask was how Mrs. Bill, this stubborn young girl was really dedicated to her work and the people who asked her for help.
Oliver looked at Sheina, he took the girl's hand. "I'll tell you everything, but I want you to make sure that you can accept this news, no matter how bad it is." Oliver looked at Sheina, measuring her expression.
"Yes." Sheina's nod. "Say." He added. Half of himself was already preparing to hear the worst news after what he had endured to this severity. Even a few days after she's been in trouble until now, almost every night, Sheina still wakes up with nightmares about the events that night when someone shot her car and made her panic to the point of slamming and rolling over several times and being hit by a vehicle from the other side and dragged a few feet away.
"Mrs. Bill was killed in a shooting at her house, the same thing that happened to you." Oliver said the man immediately carried Sheina in his arms when he realized that Sheina was frozen while her tears began to fall one by one.
"It's my fault." Sheina whispered in the midst of her sob. "I should listen to you." He added.
"Everything has happened and the police are working on the case." Oliver rubbed Sheina's back.
"His daughter has not been found and she already has to lose her life because of my ego." Sheina looked at Oliver.
The man exhaled a rough breath, "His daughter was found dead a month ago without identity. As soon as you revealed the case in the media, the police found the same physical signs as those found in the murder victim a month ago who were found unidentified. And her DNA matched the DNA of the late Mrs. Bill during an autopsy on her remains." Oliver explained.
"I can't do anything about it." Sheina swallowed her saliva with difficulty, she even wiped a trace of tear from her face.
"I should be able to do more." Regret it once again.
Oliver stared at Sheina, "Mrs. Bill's daughter won't be found if you don't follow up the news to the media, Mrs. Bill's daughter's body will still be an unidentified corpse. At least now that Mrs. Bill and her daughter can be in peace, they have already met in the rest of the world." Oliver encourages Sheina.
"One thing you have to do at this time is to get better soon." Oliver rubbed Sheina's hand.
"Yes." The girl's nod. "Can you take me to the place where Mrs. Bill and his daughter are buried?" He asked Oliver and the man nodded. If Sheina asked him to accompany him to the moon, Oliver would not refuse. The man was willing to do anything, although until this moment he had not been able to breathe calmly because the shooter Sheina had not been found. Likewise, with the person who violently killed Mrs. Bill in her home, no sign or trace has been found by the police at all. And as long as they haven't been discovered, Oliver's life will never be calm.
Every move they make may be being watched or targeted by the criminals. But at least they could breathe a little sigh of relief because in the end Sheina woke up with a state that was almost as recovered as before without the slightest flaw.
***
That night, like the nights before Oliver prepared to sleep on the couch while accompanying Sheina at home for the past three weeks.
"Hey." Sheina wakes Oliver up.
"Hey, you haven't slept yet?" Oliver asked. The man had just finished with his work and was preparing to go to bed, while the nurse gave Sheina medicine through an IVe injection and he fell asleep a few hours ago, now when it was midnight, Sheina actually woke up. Oliver approached her, "Are you feeling uncomfortable? You need something?" Sheina asked.
"Yes." The girl's nod.
"Say, what do you need?" Oliver looked panicked, the past week after the woes, Sheina's condition was indeed still ups and downs. The first two days she complained of shortness of breath arising from drowning, the nurse said that it happened because of a bruise inside Sheina's chest from the impact that hadn't healed properly and that was natural for the first month. The pain will decrease as the swelling inside gets better.
"You want me to call the nurse?" Oliver held Sheina's hand and his face looked even more panicked.
"I need a hug." Sheina looked at Oliver and the man immediately changed his expression as if asking Oliver, "You're kidding me?" Oliver narrowed his eyes at Sheina.
"You don't want to do it?" Sheina furrowed her eyebrows looking at Oliver.
"Of course I want to." Oliver circled Sheina's bed and caught up with her climbing onto the house bed and then hugged the girl.
"Like this?" Oliver asked as he wrapped his hand over Shenina's waist but didn't really put the weight of his hand on Sheina's body, Oliver was really afraid that his embrace would make Sheina uncomfortable.
"Yes, it's very convenient." Sheina whispered.
"You woke up to a nightmare again?" Oliver whispered.
"Yes." Shiena replied as she swallowed hard, she was afraid that if she fell into a deep sleep again, the nightmare would come so real again. The doctor prescribed three days of sleeping pills, but drugs containing psychotropics are not to be given for a long period of time to avoid addiction.
Four days Shiena tried to sleep with her own efforts and overnight she was able to wake up many times because the nightmare was repeated every time she fell into a deep sleep.
"Now go to sleep, I accompany you. You'll be fine." Oliver whispered.
"Ahem." Sheina replied in a murmur while her eyes were already closed. Oliver's embrace really calmed her down. Since childhood Sheina had problems with loneliness and solitude as well as the squeeze of abandonment. And with Oliver in the presence, all that fear vanished out of nowhere.
Ben his father came every day, even though it was only an hour or two but Ben never missed the time to make his daughter. Oliver takes over all the responsibilities about Sheina and Ben doesn't want to oppose that, because he sees Oliver's earnestness in taking care of Sheina.
Almost every day Adrianna also visits Sheina even though she only delivers food for her niece, if she doesn't come then Ketty does it, as a step mother, Ketty tries to have a good relationship and is familiar with Sheina.
Oliver rubbed gently the side of Sheina's head that had no stitches, and the girl seemed to have fallen asleep.
"Sleep tight, and get well soon." Oliver whispered, whether heard or not by Sheina, but it was a hope he always whispered every night at the girl he loved. Seeing that Sheina almost lost her life, going through several critical periods was not an easy matter for Olvier.
