Chapter 8 - The Richman - Another Night

After meeting Claire, Sheina returned to her office. A new client was already waiting for her and as soon as she entered the room the client also entered with the problem she was carrying.

"Mrs. Robinson, please have a sit." Shiena welcomed this woman because they had previously cooperated for a land ownership dispute case and this time Sheina did not expect that the woman in her forties came up with another case.

"Hi Mss. Anthony." Her face looked not as friendly as usual.

"What can I help you with?" Sheina asked again.

The woman smiled bitterly, "My husband has an afair with another woman." She said sadly. "And It's brooke my heart so much. I know him as a family man, very loyal and love me and the family so much."

Sheina was look surprise heard that news form Mrs. Robinson, "I never expected to hear this from you. You and Patric are so compact, you guys look to love each other." Sheina was stunned by the bad news that Mrs. Robinson had brought to her.

"I did love him very much, but I never asked him if he loved me too or not. He never said that he love me, but I pretend that the way he treat me is the love language." Mrs. Robinson replied.

"What do you mean?" Shiena looked at the woman.

Mrs. Robinson sighed heavily, "Me and Patric were married for about twenty years, and I feel that he is my true love, my soulmate, he is everything. We have three children and they are growing well, we also have a growing up and well maintenance of business." She said. "It used to be . . ." The woman looked sad after correcting her sentence. "But lately, everything goes wrong . . . I feel that he change, . . ."

"What wrong with him?" Sheina asked to Mrs. Robinson.

"My daughter Yash joint the company her father handled and found a lot of unimportant expenses, and she was suspicious about it." Mrs. Robinson added. "It's been the past six years, because of my health factor that I entrusted the company that my father founded to Patric, my husband." She said.

She paused her sentence and sighed deeply, "But when I'm busy with my health so that I can still survive and give him a decent life as a husband. It turns out that as early as six years ago he had already left me." She said sadly, her tears falling.

"Why?" Mrs. Robinson asked for herself in the midst of her cries. "Why did he do it?"

Sheina pulled a few pieces of tissue paper and handed it to Mrs. Robinson, "Thank you." the woman replied.

"The sex between us no longer went on because of my health issues. I tried hard to recover so I can back to my normal life. But when I recover and tried to come back to him, he always refused." Said Mrs. Robinson, "He said that for the shake of my health. That's the way he swhoe me that he really loved me, he wanted me to focus on my healing and he said that he could wait."

Sheina sighed deeply, so heavy to hear this story of the woman before her. The marriage has even been decades, and there is still no guarantee that their respective spouses will hold the commitment as they agreed at the beginning.

"So what do you want now?" Sheina asked.

"Divorce him." Mrs. Robinson affirmed.

"Are you sure?" Sheina's eyebrows intertwined looking at the woman.

Mrs. Robinson shook her head, "I have no other choice. He used the family property to finance the life of his mistress." She said sadly.

"Your marriage has been decades, don't you want to give your husband a second chance?" Sheina asked.

Mrs. Robinson smiled bitterly, "A marriage that is decades old, but he can still deceive me for six years, almost a third of the age of our marriage, he deceived me, kept a secret that when exposed could break me to pieces." Mrs. Robinson wiped back her tears, "I have no reason to endure." She said. "I want to kick him out of the house without a penny. And make sure the custody of the child falls on me." She said.

"We have to find evidence if so."

"I'll send you the file." Mrs. Robinson said.

"Ok, I'll prepare everything you need to process this case." Sheina said.

"Thank you Mss. Anthony." Mrs. Robinson said as she left Sheina's room.

"Your welcome." The young girl threw her body on her chair. While she was struggling to convince herself to marry Oliver, her fiancé, cases like this came in a barrage, about the secrets that one of the married couples or even the two kept. And all this time they lived in the real legality of just a piece of paper.

After work Sheina took the time to stop by her father's house just to greet her father's new family and make sure they were all ok. In addition Sheina also fought hard to distract her from the problems she had just heard, either from Claire or from Mrs. Robinson, her client.

After not finding what she was looking for, Sheina chose to say goodbye and drove her vehicle to Oliver's apartment. Maybe the man could give her an answer or an epiphany from the rumbling in her heart that needed an answer.

Sheina knocked on the door of Oliver's apartment and the man opened it.

"Hi." Sheina greeted.

"Hi." Oliver replied, he opened the door wide and Sheina walked into her fiancé's apartment.

"Have you eaten yet?" Oliver asked and Sheina shook her head, "I actually came because I was starving." She teased.

"Sit there and wait a minute, I made some food for you." Oliver said. In addition to being proficient in his work, physically handsome he also has cooking skills that make women melt when treated bag queen.

While Oliver prepare the food, Sheina sitting behind the counter and watching him cook with his craftsmanship.

"What are you guys talking about?" Oliver asked as he turned to Look at Sheina who was pouring wine in the glass he was holding.

"Girls talk." Sheina replied before going back to sipping the drink in her glass.

Oliver chuckled, "Oh come on." He cut the vegetables and then sautéed them over high heat and it amazed Sheina. "You're not intending to burn your apartment, are you?" She teased.

"Of course not." Oliver grumbled. After stir-frying the vegetables, Oliver took out the clean shrimp and he sautéed it over the oil and also the garlic until cooked but still looked juicy and then the last part was to prepare the sauce.

"Claire felt that George was hiding something from her." Sheina said without being asked, it is indeed difficult for women to keep secrets because their instinct is to speak. Therefore, naming a baby girl has better lingusitic abilities than men, because in fact for women it will be easier to talk than to listen.

"Then what does it have to do with you?" Oliver lays out his menu in two plates and one is served in front of Sheina.

"Thank you." The young girl was fascinated by the arrangement made by Oliver, the findining bag menu. Oliver smiled then sat down opposite Sheina after removing her apron.

"You know, I never thought a cooking guy was cool, but after seeing you do it, I guess I found another reason to fall in love with you even more." Sheina looked at Oliver and the man shook her head.

"Since when have you been good at bragging?" He said with a chuckle, "Back to the topic, what does it have to do with you, why does Claire want to see you?"

"Maybe he thought I knew something about George's past." Sheina replied as she began to dine. "It's so delicious by the way." She praised.

"You have to eat them all, then."

"Definitely." Sheina and Oliver enjoyed looking at the girl devouring her food, at first glance she was hit by the incident at home as Sheina even regurgitated everything that went into her stomach until the last time she vomited blood and doctors found there was still bleeding in her body at the time.

"Why look at me like that?" Sheina asked.

"Nothing." Oliver grumbled. "Just enjoy the meal and tell me about Claire later."

"Don't you want to hear it?" Sheina narrowed her eyes at Claire.

"I'd rather watch you eat than listen to you tell stories." Oliver replied.

Sheina looked at Oliver, "I heard about the girl in George's past, but I wasn't sure what I heard so I chose to be tight-lipped. Am I wrong?" Sheina asks Oliver for consideration.

"Of course not, if you open your voice and say something you're not sure about yourself, it's going to be wrong for you considering the impact on their household will probably be bad enough." Oliver replied.

Sheina fed the food into her mouth, and a minute later she looked at Oliver, "Why are you men so happy to keep secrets?" He asked.

"Return to your habits, generalize." Oliver gave Sheina a white glance.

"Be honest with me Mr. Hawkins, you must have a secret that I don't know." Sheina narrowed her eyes at Oliver.

"Dozens of maybe." Oliver replied and Sheina visibly rolled her eyes. "I'm serious." Sehina protested.

"Some secrets are better off remaining secrets, because if they are exposed it will only have bad repercussions. Maybe we men think it's that simple." Oliver explained.

"That's your defense?" Sheina protested again.

"It's the truth." Oliver pursed his lips at a glance.

"So that's the truth?"

"Yes." Oliver nodded.

"I give you a chance to unlock the one secret at most and I guarantee that I won't react to anything after you tell it, tell me the worst thing." Sheina said.

"You framed me?" Oliver's eyebrows narrowed at Sheina.

"No, of course not. I just want you to tell me the truth, something you've always kept for yourself and you never said because you don't want it to affect our relationship." Sheina took Oliver's hand. "I want you to say it and I promise I won't react to what I'm going to hear."

"Not to night." Oliver shook his head.

Sheina sighed deeply, "Ok." He looked a little disappointed.

"Hasn't the bullet that penetrated my body convinced you enough?" Oliver asked.

"It's not a matter of who sacrifices the most or who is willing to die for whom, it's a matter of communication and openness and I want us to have a healthy relationship, that's it." Sheina looked at Oliver.

"I love you and you're the only one, I swear." Oliver promised by raising two of his fingers.

Sheina looked at Oliver, "It's not about how much I love, or how much you love me, it's a matter of openness."

Oliver returned Sheina's gaze and his jaw solidified at a glance, "I'm not ready yet." Oliver said.

Sheina looked at Oliver, she took off the ring in her hand and placed it on the table, "I return this ring to you. You can ask me again when you're ready to open up to me." Sheina smiled at a glance.

"Wait, you want us to break up?" Oliver asked.

"Just take a break, until each of us is fully prepared for a more serious relationship." Sheina replied.

Oliver sighed deeply, "You talk about love and feelings and I gave it all for you." Oliver protested.

"I'm going to end up like Claire living in her arms because she knows her husband has a secret but she'll never find an answer." Sheina said. "I don't want it to end it seems." Sheina took Oliver's hand and squeezed it. "My feelings for you have never changed, I still am and still love you very much, and it will always be like that." Sheina said.

Oliver sighed deeply, "You're going home tonight?" He asked divertingly.

Sheina stared at Oliver for a while and the man looked resigned, "Because it's the weekend tomorrow and you won't be up very early, so I decided to stay overnight." Sheina replied.

A brief smile was seen on Oliver's face, but with Sheina's return of the engagement ring, this was certainly not a trivial matter for Sheina the stubborn girl. He will definitely pry through all the facts so that no one will be left behind again.
