Blocky's match officially started the new system. Similar fights happened all over the academy, and it made the place noisy.
Ethan sat close to a tree on the huge academy field. He watched two students fighting on the field.
He watched fight after fight after Blocky's victory at the canteen.
His gang had split up and gone their way, leaving him to do his own thing, but he didn't mind much since he wanted personal space for himself.
He wandered around the academy building for a while before he finally stopped here.
He thought about training inside the VR, but he discarded that thought for now. After all, it would also save his butt from the constant kicking.
He watched all this fighting because he wanted to grasp how the Earthlings used their powers.
Thanks to the several missions he had done in the Draconian empire, he had learned one important aspect, and that is to know your opponent as if it was the back of your hand. He had had this logic in his head for a long time now.
Ethan used his hands to cover his mouth and let out a loud yawn.
The two burly students fighting made him feel sleepy, but he forced himself to watch.
After a while, he rubbed his sleepy eyes to wake them, and he let out another yawn.
"Hey, we know this fight is boring as hell, but can you play it down a little?" A student close to him said.
"Sorry, my bad." Ethan stood up, pattered his buttocks, and strode back into the academy.
He checked his watch. He had spent three hours watching fights, but he didn't waste these three hours; he had gained more insight into how humans fight.
Inside the academy, the students form large circles, and within the circles, the fights take place. The constant screaming and cheering reverberated all over the entire academy. And similar circles were occupied almost everywhere, except rooms and bathrooms.
Ethan shuffled through the crowds of students, cleared a path, and strolled toward the elevator. He punched the touchpad and waited. After a ding sound, it opened.
He stepped in and stood in the middle of the male and female students.
The two students wore the same black uniform as him. Throughout their ride, no one said anything, but the two students stared at Ethan from the corners of their eyes.
Ethan noticed their stares, but he paid them no heed. The stares he got from students no longer creeped him out like before. He knew that most of them mainly stared at his unusual gold pair of eyes.
Unbeknownst to Ethan, the two students heard about his victory against Kai Boulder, so they were worried about the brutal death that awaited him.
But they knew if he had a chance, he might become someone powerful in the future. After all, it is not an everyday occurrence for pure blood to lose in a fight.
The hidden rule of not winning against pure blood he had broken, and now he would face the consequences, the two students thought.
While waiting, Ethan checked his system.

"so my flame spark increase even in the VR," Ethan muttered to himself. He never expected his flame spark to increase drastically like this. At first, he thought the only way to increase it was to use it constantly in the real world. But he couldn't use it since people might mistake it for a lighting ability.
He didn't know how it happened, but he felt glad that he could also increase it like that.
"Your mastery would have soared higher if you used it in the real world."
In his trance, Ethan suddenly heard a familiar voice in his head.
"I prefer using it like this for now," Ethan replied.
Ethan also noticed that his stats had increased by one. He knew the training from the VR had helped him increase his physical stats.
Ethan didn't check his system constantly, so all these details escaped him, but he smiled to himself, knowing that his hard work in training inside the VR paid off.
Ethan closed the system when he noticed how the two students stared at him as though he had mental issues.
He didn't mind them and started thinking about how he would increase his rank.
He had thoughts of buying another dragon gene channeling portion, but he postponed it for later. The dragon gene channeling portion required a whopping 100 million points.
Over the last few days, Ethan had come up with a plan on how to raise that amount. Although he already had that amount, it would only push him to another level, not raise his rank.
Rowena told him that if his rank increased, he would need more dragon channeling portions. This means each channeling portion would make him reach only one level.
He planned on buying the system-healing pills. The pill had properties that made it more effective than the regular healing pill, and it didn't cost much either.
But What if they asked him how he got these pills? Who made the pills? What would he say? These thoughts lingered in his mind.
if things didn't work out the way he planned, he planned to rob a bank. Hopefully, it won't get to that.
The elevator made a ding sound again and opened. He walked out first, but the other two continued to move forward.
This part of the academy belongs to the elite students, mostly purebloods. They received special facilities and attention from the higher-ups. The academy planned on grooming them to become humanity's next generation, but the academy didn't discard the normal students again since one of them had defeated a pure blood.
Ethan stood and observed the room. The students in this hall wore spotless white uniforms with the word "Elite Students." The uniform looked similar to the black one.
Ethan walked forward, but a voice stopped him.
"You're not supposed to be here." A manly voice said.
When coming to this floor, Ethan thought about many scenarios such as this in his head. Luckily, he had a backup plan.
"Instructor Wu sent–"
"He's with me."
A feminine voice interrupted Ethan.
"With you?"
"Yeah, Drake."
"Alright." The student looked at Ethan one last time before he walked away.
"Layla, it's been a while," Ethan said as he approached her.
"You, on the other hand, have become famous." Layla smiled.
"Hahahaha! Don't flatter me. "
"Am serious, Ethan. The pure bloods know about you."
