Ethan finally connected the dots. The pale skin, the speed, and now his red eyes. It all meant one thing: he was fighting with a freaking vampire.
"What are you doing on the human planet?" Ethan tried to initiate conversation.
"I should be the one asking that question," the vampire sent out another punch again.
"Well, I'm here on important business," Ethan said, frowning.
"Likewise," the vampire sent yet another kick. "I never knew the dragons too wanted a share of the Earth," the vampire mocked.
"At least, we won't go on rampant, sucking people's blood," Ethan sneered, sending a punch out.
If one looks closer, they will be able to see small sparks anytime the duo exchange blows.
"You think we are those savages who called themselves vampires," the vampire scoffed.
Inside the hall, a girl was staring at the fight with keen interest. This was Layla, the girl Ethan had met inside the locker room.
Layla had been watching the fight for a while now, and she had to admit the fight was interesting.
Although she was staring at the fight, it was precisely Ethan she was watching.
"So, that is the boy you were talking about?" A girl about the same age as Layla asked.
But Layla was too focused on the fight that She didn't even hear her friend.
"She is a gonna," her friend thought, looking at her face. It seemed like she would jump on him at any moment.
The fight continued with both sides, refusing to give the other the upper hand.
Ethan decided to take a step forward and try something crazy.
He eventually got a grip on the vampire's shoulder. He dug his claws inside. He did this secretly, without the spectators seeing it.
After digging his claw into the vampire, he raised him with all his might and flung him at the nearby electric metal bars.
The impact sent the vampire crashing into the metal bar, and he fell flat on his stomach.
Ethan didn't give him a chance to get up, as he quickly put his legs on the latter's chest before he could get up.
The vampire raised his hands, accepting defeat.
The bell rang again, signifying the end of the match.
The vampire stretched his hands for assistance to get up. At first glance, Ethan thought it was a trap, but it will look rude, and because the match has already finished, what more can happen?
He stretched out his hand, but what happened next shocked him. The vampire pulled Ethan to the ground and jumped up on his feet.
"Don't ever trust your opponent," he said, extending his hands out.
"Am ileus," the vampire said, offering his hand for a handshake.
"Ethan," he said, accepting the handshake.
All the spectators were impressed with the match they had just witnessed.
The organisers and officials even offered Ethan and Ileus contracts, but the duo refused them.
They wouldn't want to be tied down by a contract, so they refused without hesitation, and by the way, Ethan was not short on money.
Ethan put on his clothes and left. He didn't have anything left to do in the fighting club, so he left, and besides, the matches were all boring.
He strolled back home and swiftly entered through the window, just as he had gone out.
"The outing was worth it," Ethan mumbled to himself before sleeping off.
The next day, as expected, a military bus arrived at their doorstep.
Ethan was still sleeping due to his late-night adventure. Helen, on the other hand, was very eager to attend the academy.
Helen normally doesn't interact with people much because of some experience, but living with her mom alone for some time now has made her quite bored.
She was hoping to interact with many people. Maybe she might be able to overcome her trauma.
Sometime later, Ethan and Helen walked onto the bus. Several youngsters who seemed to be the same age as they were already seated.
There were only two seats left at the back, so they naturally sat there.
No one paid attention to them, except the girls who stared at Ethan with dazed expressions. Ethan touched his face, thinking that something was on it.
He knew all this was because of his charm. He had a feeling that it would be chaotic if his charm stat reached the 100 mark.
The bus soon levitated slowly.
An announcement soon resounded inside the bus, instructing everyone to put on their seat belts.
The bus was now high in the air.
"I thought we were supposed to drive on the ground; I never expected it to fly, though," Ethan thought to himself. Soon,
when the bus was high enough, it zoomed in a direction Ethan was not familiar with. He was not familiar with Earth as a whole since it was just his second day here.
The sudden movement of the bus caused some people to split their drinks. Some that were putting on headsets were tossed from their seats because their ears were blocked when the announcement was made, so they did not know of it.
Some of them put on those headsets to look cool so they could impress the beautiful girls present on the bus, but they got the opposite of that.
The academy has not even started yet. They have already messed up in front of the beauties inside the bus. They had only one thought going through their heads. They were thinking about how they would redeem their image.
Staring through the window, Ethan could see a different metal bus similar to the one he was currently on. All the buses were flying in the same direction as them. He already knew they were fellow students who would be attending the academy.
Ethan soon noticed the ship slowing down.
"I think we have reached our destination," Ethan said to Helen beside him.
The bus gradually descends to the ground, and the driver also informs them of their arrival.
