"Everything okay?" asked Elyon with concern. He noticed that Ari suddenly became tense.
Ari was surprised that she had such a good time just walking and talking with Elyon. He was very knowledgeable about a wide range of topics. Time passed so quickly in his company that she didn't even notice that they were passing through the back alley that led to her house.
It was the shouts from neighbors, and the lights on so early in the wee hours of the morning that made her realize that something was wrong. Ari immediately hastened her footsteps since she got this sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach that she was about to face her worst nightmare yet.
Elyon struggled to keep pace with her, Ari was moving so fast, after her multiple performances that night he would have understandably expected her to be exhausted. Where did she suddenly get this outburst energy from but a few minutes ago she lagged and was ready to fall into the nearest bed?
"My house, it's on fire!" she exclaimed.
