Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Standing in the middle of the room, Hackim made a superhuman effort not to explode in front of all these people. Not that their gaze bothered him. Far from there. He was used to being looked at like a freak and it didn't matter to him. What pissed him off is that sane people agree to participate in this kind of crazy event: an evening to meet a soul mate? The good joke! The authors of this evening have slyly used the despair of these insane beings who still believe in the existence of love to make money. One of the reasons he hated that meaningless feeling called love even more. Looking around the room to find the stupid person because of whom he had to set foot in this place whose mere existence made his blood boil. If this was happening on his land, he would have already ordered his guards to kick all those idiots out and shut down this utopian place. Clenching his fists with the unpleasant feeling that being on American soil limited his power, he continued to carefully scan the room until his gaze fell on the man who had had the stupid idea that he would get away with fleeing to American soil after defrauding him of $2 million. While with his slow but determined gait he advanced towards him and the whore who was at his side, the latter got up to escape but barely had time to take three strides when a king's guard was already intercepting him. . Stopping at a reasonable distance from him for fear of not being able to hold back any longer, he could feel the fear of the other and he rejoiced. Feeding on the fear of his opponents to better bring them down was his favorite technique.

- What a pleasure to see you again Mr John Smith. You have become very rare after cashing in the funds for a job you haven't even started and don't know about. He finally said in his hoarse and strong voice.

-His Majesty! What a pleasure to see you again. But do we need all this to discuss? Trying to keep a minimum of dignity while the big drops of sweat that beaded on his forehead let guess the panic that filled him, John tried somehow to escape from the ferocious grip of the guard who had intercepted him.

Keeping silent the better to play with his counterpart's anxiety, Hackim signaled to his men to take him away, when he himself had taken the exit door, but when he was about to get into his car following his adviser and right-hand man who had waited for him outside the establishment, he saw a young woman running out of the establishment after him. Intrigued that she had the courage to approach him, he turned to her: it was the girl who was with his new prey. A diamond digger who wanted to take the opportunity to get closer to him? In any case his clothing did not give the air.

- Good evening sir, your friend left his phone while he was trying to escape you. Please return it to him. She told him ironically emphasizing the word "friend".

Before he had time to say anything, she was already running away but turned around to give him a hug before thanking him warmly for helping her escape from this prison. of false romanticism and to start his race again towards who knows what destination.

Left for the first time in years without words, Hackim stood frozen on the sidewalk, staring in the direction the young stranger had taken as his guards and adviser prayed to God he wouldn't drop a head.

After several minutes like this, he finally got into the car under the worried and cautious gaze of his right arm.

-Your Majesty you know this foreigner does not seem to know ... he began to calm him down before being interrupted

-I don't know how you'll do Amid, but first thing in the morning tomorrow, I want this stranger's complete file next to my coffee instead of the newspaper.

Those were the only words he uttered the whole evening.

Throwing herself on the bed with a deep sigh of relief, Mia took off the pumps that her friend had forced her to wear while massaging her painful feet before lying down fully clothed. Closing her eyes, she was surprised to see that her mind wasn't replaying the scene of her failed marriage but rather that of her hug with the muscle block. Reliving this moment with disconcerting precision, she couldn't prevent a long shiver from running down her spine. And for good reason, the sensations that crossed her during this brief but intense hug were unique and she knew what she was talking about. Crazy and hyper outgoing, hugging someone has never been a problem for her. She loved doing it with her little patients even if theoretically the deontology refused any proximity between doctors and patients. A hug to her savior was normal for her but not for him considering how frozen he was. Anyway there is very little chance that they will meet again. While sleepiness was already taking over, a question came to his mind: Where did his pseudo date draw the courage to attack a man with such an aura? She would never understand the greed of some men!

Standing in front of the bay window of his hotel room to watch the dawn rise, Hackim felt a deep loss for his country whose sunrises were as magnificent as those painted on the paintings of the greatest artists in history. He was in a hurry to return but had to settle the formalities related to the extradition to his country of this scam. He also had to understand the behavior of this stranger who kept him awake all night. Was she mad? Or was it a ruse formed by her and John Smith to confuse him. If so, she had almost succeeded because she was the only woman besides her late mother who had dared to come so close to him.

But this hypothesis does not hold water... Frowning with irritated worries at not being able to identify the behavior of the stranger, he clenched his fists until his fists were white.

-Come in! he thundered when he heard a knock on his door.

Amid entered a tray containing a cup of tea next to which lay a file he guessed containing what he had asked for the day before.

-You will be disappointed to learn that this is a young girl who is certainly a bit special but normal who has had her share of suffering and who had no bad intentions. Argued Amid, putting down the tray on which the king jumped to grab the file.

- That my dear friend... Let me judge for myself...
