Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

As Amid and King Hackim were chatting in a dimly lit alley near the restaurant to avoid the stares of onlookers while waiting for the driver, a person rushed out of the restaurant and inadvertently bumped into them, angering the king who grabbed her by the hand. taking a giant leap as the unapologetic person continued in their coourse.

- Weren't you taught to apologize when you bump into someone ? He asked abruptly as without turning, the person trying to free themselves from the grasp of his hands.

This voice... Mia would recognize it among a thousand despite the fact that she hadn't exchanged much with him. " Oh my God ! Why me ? Why him ? Why here? " Mia wondered to herself as she tugged on his hand to let go but to no avail. And then what did she believe ? What could his fishy strength do against such a grip ? Obviously nothing. Either way, she was wrong. She should have at least bothered to apologize to them. Well since that's what he wanted, she was going to do it.

- I …. I'm sorry. I hadn't seen you. She apologized, still with her back to the king, praying that he did not recognize her voice .

No, but who did this girl think she was ? Address him with her back turned ? How cheeky?

- When you speak to me, have the descent to look me in the eye, Madame. He reproached her by pulling on her wrist still imprisoned in his firm grip to turn her towards him but he was stopped by Amid.

- Your Majesty, the young lady has already apologized for her carelessness. I think you should let her go before you are accused of assaulting a foreigner on American soil. Advised Amid in an impassive voice that hide his concern. The one that he ignores his advice and forces the girl to turn around to realize that it was Mia Khelani, his obsession of the moment.

Hackim turned to Amid without letting go of the stranger's hand with the certainty that the latter was hiding something from him because even if he had managed to control the tones of his voice, the fleeting concern that appeared on his features did not escape his keen gaze. What if this woman was the one from earlier ? He therefore observed her more carefully and had to admit that even in this ungraceful position the perfectly arranged curves of her back made him want to uncover her face to complete the picture. And that is what he did. Because without taking into account the opinion of his friend ad advisor for any years now, he put pressure on the wrist of the stranger and thus forced her to turn around to her surprise to discover Mia Khelani. Wow ! If they expected to see her again in such circumstances.

-Our car is here Your Highness. Amid's voice came faintly to him as he pondered how to make this stranger pay for his audacity last time.

- Mia my God you scared me so much. How can you run away like that when you see that idiot! Wasn't it the time to show him what he was missing by planting you outside the hotel on your wedding day ? Camilla gets carried away while ranting without seeing the big eyes that her friend made her embarrassed that she unpacks her life in front of a complete stranger. A complete stranger that Camilla didn't notice until later.

- Hello miss. You are ? Hackim then asked in a deep and almost friendly voice which sharpened the concern of Amid who did not doubt for a moment that his king had a machiavellian idea in mind.

Camilla looked down at the king's hand that still held her best friend's wrist and looked up at her with a mischievous smile.

- I'm Camilla, her sister and I see that I'm coming at the wrong time. She said as Mia shook her head sharply from left to right to let her know that she was misinterpreting the situation. But Cam paid no attention and focused her gaze on the handsome Apollo, eyes narrowed as if to examine him.

Hackim smiled, his hastily put together plan seemed to work without him even having to exert any effort.

- Who are you ? She finally asked her inspection complete.

- Your Highness ! Amid pressed him, whose only concern is that the newcomer bring her friend with her and not get her out of the clutches of the king, who will take a bite out of it if his plan - of which he was unaware - worked.

- I am … Started Hackim who had lost the habit of introducing himself for a long time since everyone seemed to know him

- Oh but I know you! You're that super hot king of the desert that every woman dreams of who came to the speed dating party and left with Mia's date. Oh gosh! I understand better how you know each other. You guys met when my traitorous friend took advantage of your interruption to run away, didn't you ? You like her ? I'm sure yes. How not to love such a beautiful soul anyway ! What a great story ! She interrupted him before he finished his sentence. Which made him terribly angry. An anger that was reflected in the hardening of his already severe features. But he took it upon himself to remain calm because the young woman unknowingly opened a breach for him to carry out his plan.

- I will not go so far as to say that I am in love with her, but I admit that I was marked by its beauty. So I wanted to meet her to get to know her better and invite her for a stay in my country since as king it is my duty not to leave my country for too long but I think your friend doesn't like me. He replied, still feeling the need to rectify the point that he was in love. Answered Hackim by cleverly correcting the error of the stranger's friend concerning her feelings towards this one. He was not capable of loving and he was fine with it. He didn't need a dreamer to associate him with that distracting, destructive feeling that is the cause of the most horrible words in the world.

Not reassured by the dim lighting of the alley which was very little frequented at this hour and by the turn taken by the conversation between Cam and the king of the desert, Mia raised an imploring look towards the man who for a while discreetly tried to save her without success with the hope that he could help her but this one did nothing. He gave her a look the meaning of which she could not determine. Standing a few centimeters behind the king in an upright posture worthy of an aristocrat - which he was perhaps in their country - he had crossed his two hands behind his back and followed with a completely impassive face the scene which was happening before his eyes.

- A holiday in Khahazan, this beautiful country with many treasures and a fascinating history that is very difficult for foreigners to access? You are serious ! Asked Camilla more than excited

-Very serious. In this step, my word makes laws. You just have to say one word and you could come with me.

-Cam listen I… Started Mia as the situation was really starting to spiral out of her control. But our friend did not listen to him.

- Where in Los Angeles do you live?

The question surprised Hackim even though he didn't show it and answered

- Well, we'll come see you tomorrow to discuss it. She replied with a broad smile on her lips, waving him goodbye.

Then without further ado, she fired her friend and together they left, leaving Hackim very satisfied and Amid more worried than ever.

- Hello miss, we have an appointment with King El Hassan please. Camilla greeted the charming receptionist while Mia, more displeased than ever, observed the scene.

From the chandeliers hanging from the large ceiling to the tiled floor, through the glazed walls and the paintings of famous painters, not to mention the furnishings, everything in this hall exuded a luxury that made her feel uncomfortable.

- He's waiting for us in his suite. Let's go. Informed Cam after talking with the receptionist while heading towards the elevator.

Dragging the pireds, Mia followed her ex friend who for a trip to the land of sand which it seems is "fairy" had become her guardian. She wanted more than anything right now to be called to the clinic for an emergency related to her patients. She knew it was selfish to wish one of her patients had an emergency just to get her out of it but she was not in her normal state. She should have quietly stayed inside the first night they met. He wouldn't have come home the next morning and he wouldn't have been so aggressive the old one. Camilla wouldn't have seen them together and she wouldn't have had to go to her suite to talk about a trip that meant nothing to her. Oh if only she had a time machine!

- Hi ladies. His Majesty awaits you in his office. The calm, warm voice of the man from yesterday snapped her out of her thoughts as the elevator doors had just opened into what appeared to be a living room. Looks like there was only this suite on this floor.

They crossed the living room and took a corridor that led them to a door that the gentleman whose name they did not know opened then stood aside to let them pass, discovering inside a man looking like a Viking who was waiting for them majestically seated on a chair behind his desk.
