Chereads / THE ICE KING. / Chapter 7 - Chapitre 7

Chapter 7 - Chapitre 7

This discussion with the Mayor of Los Angeles was already getting too long and Hackim would have long since left had it not been for the pain of Amid keeping him there. He didn't understand this ridiculous law that required him to meet with city officials when he was there. Luckily he didn't come there often. He would have exploded from having to listen to the meaningless speeches of this man and his child who had come with the intention of finding in him a potential future partner. He was there in his thoughts when, as when he arrived a few hours earlier, all eyes suddenly converged on the entrance of the 5-star restaurant in which they were. But this time it was not the same expressions that he could read on the faces. At his entrance there was admiration, awe and fear. But this time there was lust and thinly veiled gluttony in the eyes of the men and jealousy in those of the women. With his back to the entrance, he didn't need to turn around to know that a woman had just entered the room. And not least, judging by the drool that was almost dripping from the mayor's son's mouth. It was probably another one of those bimbos who like to draw attention to themselves. He didn't even bother to look at her. Without even knowing her, he knew she didn't deserve it. But turning to his loyal right arm to wave him away since obviously no one at their table was in any condition to talk, he was surprised to see that this one had his eyes too riveted in a direction he assumed was that of the young woman's table, but not for the same reasons as the other men present. He seemed to know her. Who was she then? An old conquest? Impossible ! Amid had known only two women in life: his late wife, sweet Lilya, and his current wife, whose beauty was matched only by her purity.

-Amid who is this woman you seem to recognize ? He asked then tired of making assumptions when someone could answer him.

As caught at fault, Amid was silent for a moment then looked at him to answer him.

-You are on the wrong track, Your Majesty. I thought I recognized her, but that was a mistake.

Amid was intentionally lying to his king and he knew it but he had no choice if he wanted to avoid his Majesty's lack of patience making them headlines tomorrow. Indeed, one of the young women who had just made a most remarkable entrance into the restaurant was Mia Khelani, this young woman who had twice been unsuitable with the king and who was now in his sights. He didn't want a dinner that was supposed to give Khahazan a good image both in the United States and internationally to turn into a kidnapping. Because yes, her king was not incapable of kidnapping the young foreigner to settle accounts with her. Curiously, there was this voice in him that told him that this girl and her Majesty had linked destinies but he didn't want to take any risks. If they are truly destined, they will see themselves in more appropriate circumstances. It was therefore with an impassive and calm mien that he welded his gaze to that of the king who was trying as usual to probe his soul to detect whether he was lying or not. But over the years of knowing him and working with him, Amid had become invulnerable to this gaze and knew very well how to counter it.

-Whatever you're hiding from me, I'll find out, Amid, and you might as well tell me the truth now. Ended up saying Hackim in a furious throaty voice that he couldn't read the thoughts of his right arm.

- Be assured His Majesty that I am hiding nothing from you. You are mistaken. As I told you, I got confused. There is nothing more normal at my old age you know. Amid replied in a confident voice that was still calm and impassive.

Hackim had no choice but to let go for the moment then roughly pushed the chair to stand up, which awoke father and son from the aphasia they had been in since the woman entered.

"Your Highness are you giving us the slip already?" Asked the father, clearing his throat embarrassed.

Frowning, Hackim gave him a disgruntled look and then replied.

- It seems to me that it was you who slipped away from us first, Mr. Mayor.

He was referring to his long minutes of absence since the entrance of the woman and Peter Simons the mayor of the city of Los Angeles knew it. So he was silent and in turn got up followed by his son to shake his hand.

More than embarrassed by the stares that have continued to stare at them since they entered this restaurant where even three months of her salary will not be enough to pay for the menu, Mia was squirming on her chair unlike her friend who she was perfectly at ease. . At the same time all this was normal for her who had grown up in a world of rhinestones and sequins. As she discussed the menu with the waiter with the elegance and finesse that characterized her on a daily basis, Mia immersed herself in her memories to relive the day they had met for the first time. She remembered it like it was yesterday. The dreamy young country girl that she was had just left her small province in Ohio to continue her studies and realize her dream of becoming a great pediatrician. But soon her dreams turned into nightmares when she became for some obscure reason the target of attack, tasteless jokes and name-calling from the popular people on campus. She had suffered all kinds of bad costs: from chewing gum stuck in her hair, to the mysterious disappearance of her belongings, to public humiliation sessions, but she couldn't say or do anything to defend herself. What could a poor country girl do against the sons of ministers, deputies and powerful CEOs who persecuted her? Nothing, absolutely nothing. She was just praying that they would find other things to do and leave her alone. But his prayers were obviously not answered as his ordeal continued, getting worse every day until Camilla, like an angel, came to his rescue. Indeed, that day, she was returning late from the library where she had stayed to study when she came across young people who without any restraint or modesty were making love. She did her best to go unnoticed but inadvertently stepped on a branch whose creak alerted the two lovebirds to her presence.

He was the son of the Campus Director and his current girlfriend. Sees worst nightmares! So they accused her of spying on them and dragged her carelessly to a shed forcing her to kneel down to give the man a blowjob while the woman was filming. so they didn't want to hear anything. The sentence was clear. She had to either do it or get kicked out. On her knees, it was with tears in her eyes and a nameless bitterness in her soul that she was about to give in to their odious blackmail when her guardian angel appeared.

- So your whore girlfriend doesn't satisfy you enough to the point where you feel compelled to force an innocent girl to give you oral sex. What a disappointment ! Me who believed that whores knew how to do it better than anyone. Provoking in his persecutors an immediate reaction. They turned to see who dared to interfere.

"Who do you think you are pure enough to talk to me like that, little insolent one!

- Oh me ?! I'm not a whore like your girl anyway. She taunted him ignoring the signs that Mia was giving her to stop at the risk of becoming their new target

Pulling up his pants, James, the director's son pulled his girlfriend by the hand to leave but before he turned around and with a sadistic smile said

- I never forget a face my pretty. You will hear from me very soon. Count on me

- In that case remember my name too: I'm Camilla McClyver. The daughter of the Minister of Education. You know the one who can fire your father with a phone call, whose position allows you to act with complete impunity. I think he'll be happy to see the video of you abusing that poor girl I have on my phone.

Mia wiped away with the back of her hand the tear that ran from her eyes at the memory of this moment both humiliating and happy. Happy because she met a beautiful soul that day.

-I hope for you that you are not crying again because of your idiot of your failed husband. Camiila questioned, pointing her gaze maliciously.

Oh no, she wasn't crying for him. Not tonight anyway. And that thanks to her.

She then smiled, shaking her head from left to right, determined to spend her best evening since her humiliation.
