JANE POV:
It was a dead end!
Her back against the wall!
There was surely nowhere to run to now!
Just then, the unimaginable happened!
The ogre groaned loudly and fell down with a powerful thud.
It then exploded into a mucky greenish slime.
I still couldn't understand what just happened.
Ace's mum looked dead frightened.
She ran to check up on Ace. Shola was just recovering too.
Dad was still out cold, like Ace.
I crawled to where Dad was. I lay on his chest. He was still breathing.
It brought hope to my soul. I lay down on his chest.
"Darling, I'm h...". It was Mom.
"What the heck happened here?".
"Mom, thank goodness. You're back".
"Good day, Mrs. Willis".
"Hello, Helen".
ACE'S HOME
JANE POV:
Dad was the first to awake. I rushed to his side.
"Dad, you're awake".
"What happened?".
"You blacked out after the...".
"Where's the monster?".
He got up and tried to stand up. I pushed him down gently.
"It's fine Dad. But a strange thing happened. The ogre just exploded into slime".
He lay down on the bed.
"It's the technique I told you guys about. It's actually a spell. It destroys your opponent with the same power used to attack. It took a while but it paid off".
"Honey, you're awake". It was Mom.
"Hey. How was your trip?".
"Surprising. Especially here".
"Oh, you met the mess".
"Of course I did".
"I'll deal with it later".
"Did you get it?".
"Yes I did".
"Get what?" I asked.
Ace jerked awake. His mum was by his side. She cuddled him closely.
"Perfect timing, isn't it?".
"Hello Mrs. Helen" Ace said.
"Hello dearie. How was your nap?".
"Horrible. Where's the monster?".
"Taken care of".
"How?".
"It just exploded into slime. Literally" I offered.
"You cast a reverse spell. Anything it does to you, it receives but in a rather different way".
"That thing came after me. Why?"."Obvious. You smelt of Muggle-blood".
"But it didn't eat me".
"It felt your power. It doesn't feed on magical creatures. It can only attack them".
"Where did that thing come from?".
"Good question".
FEW MINUTES LATER
ACE POV:
I rested on my back in my living-room.
"Wait, what you're trying to tell me is that someone is after my life".
"Yes, pure-blood. And you seem unprepared".
"Why?" I asked.
"Exactly. I was expecting the attacks a little later". It was Willis.
"How could they have known this early?".
Helen put on the TV.
"This could be it".
"Swift?"
"Yes. He's back".
"What's that?".
"It's your father's familiar. Well, the familiar of all pure-bloods".
It was the bird in my dream.
"Wait, I've seen that bird before. It was in my dream".
"You have? Did it come with a message?".
"Yeah. Something like when I need it the most, it'll come to me".
Helen looked at Willis and me thoughtfully.
"Why? Does it have a hidden meaning?".
"Ace, there's something else you need to see".
We all gathered round Helen. She brought out a book. It was very old.
"This is the Pure-bloods Artefact. It contains every pure-blood names, lifespan, and history. Everything you need to know about pure-bloods, including their peculiar abilities".
"What do you mean by 'peculiar abilities'?".
"Every pure-blood had a peculiar ability or abilities in some cases. These abilities are gifted by the ophital, possessed by only that pure-blood".
"What's my ability?".
"I don't know. I guess we'll have to wait and find out for ourselves".
"That won't be possible with someone tailing us closely".
"Could Hela have discovered our location?".
"If that's the case, then we're all in grave danger".
Who's this Hela?".
"Hela Dridella Nevarius. Descendant of Kraavin".
"Wait, are you by any chance speaking of the richest female entrepreneur in the world?".
"Sadly so". It was Willis.
"So we are up against magic and wealth?". It was Jane.
"A deadly combination, I'm afraid so".
"We're not so sure it's her. As well as we know, Ace's life is a bounty to many".
"It even sent an ogre after us. We're surely not safe here anymore. We have to move to the Wizarding world".
"For as much as we know, there could be more of a threat over there than in the Muggle-world". It was Helen.
"But we could defend ourselves better there. You know it's an offense to use magic in the Muggle-world. Plus, they could learn how to use their powers before we are discovered".
"I don't know Willis. I'm just concerned about their safety".
"I believe strongly it'll work".
"Fine. Where would Queen stay? She can't continue to live here".
"I'll travel far away from here. I'll relocate to Germany".
"Hmmm, I guess I just have to agree then".
"Where are we going to stay?".
"I know just the place".
THIRD-PERSON POV:
A hooded man in the dark was walking away from the garden. He had been watching Ace this whole time. He bought out his phone and dialled a number.
"Your plan failed miserably. It couldn't even withstand a common reverse spell".
"What? Willis is behind this" replied the voice at the other end.
"You better find a way to tidy up your mess".
"Yes. I won't fail you next time".
"You better. We can't let the pure-blood discover himself. He'll ruin our perfect plan".
"Get rid of him and the rest quickly".
He ended the call and walked away.
He began to murmur some words.
He disappeared into thin air.
