ACE POV:
"Mom, I'm off to school" I shouted as I left for school.
"Finished breakfast?" she asked.
"Yes, mom" I replied, as I banged the door behind me. I headed to the garage to get my bike.
QUICK INTRO:
"My name is Wallace Peters, only child of Johann & Queen Peters. I'm 15 years old and only child of my parents. I attend Highland Park High in Dallas, Texas. I have 2 friends called...".
"Ace, come off that cam, we're late" yelled SH.
"One second" I said and brought my bike out. I rode it slowly towards them and turned the cam to them.
"Sorry, guys. These are my buddies. One's a girl, and I don't know if I can call her a buddy, but whatever".
"Meet Shola, I call him SH for short. He comes from a faraway Yoruuba..., no.., Yurooba..., no...,Yorooba.., argh, I give up" I said.
"Do you mind?" I asked SH.
"I thought you'd never ask" he said
"First, it's Oluwashola Oluwayomide Abiodun, from Yorubaland, precisely in Ogun state, Nigeria" he said.
"What kind of a name is that anyway?" I asked in mock horror.
"It's Nigerian and it means...".
"Arrrrggh, soooo boring" I said.
"You could've just said your ancestral bullshit" I said.
"Yeah guys, whatever he just said, sited in faraway Africa" I said to the camera.
"Always wondered why classic nerds put on gigantic googles, like Ma-hitman Gandhi" I said again.
"Mahatma Gandhi, Ace. One of the most...." Shola corrected.
"I know, nerd-ass. Spare me the lectures. I just wanted it to sound cool, you know?" I said dreamily.
"You know what? Never mind" SH said.
"Ok, I'm sorry, nerd-ass" I said. He looked at me for a moment and then smiled.
"You'd still do my assignment for me, right?" I said.
"Argh, I'm so gonna...," he said as he started to chase me.
I ran across and mistakenly bumped into Jane as she was coming out of her garage.
We fell and I almost landed on her. My hands were the only separation between us.
"Hey, Jane" I said awkwardly.
"Ouch, do you mind?" she asked.
"Oh, sorry" I said. I stood up quickly and gave her a hand.
"What were you thinking?" she inquired, almost angry.
"I'm sorry, Shola caused it" I replied as I picked my camera.
"I'm gonna come over there and smack you now" SH said.
"You bet" I smiled.
SH was walking towards me when Jane said.
"If you don't mind, can we go to school now".
"Bet ya, race you to school" I said and sped off on my bike.
"You got it" Shola said and raced after me.
"Arrgh, you guys" Jane said and commanded her bike into action.
AFTER SCHOOL
ACE POV:
We rode home together like we did for the past 5 years.
"Jane, I didn't see your mum since Wednesday. Travelled again?" Shola asked.
"Yeah, to Paris" she replied.
"Yeah, that reminds me. Your historian mum married your historian dad. Isn't it too matchy-matchy?" I said.
"You were not present in their love-story, were you?" she asked.
"No offense, just airing my views" I said.
"I'm sure you were, Ace Ranger" she teased.
"No, more like Ace Pundit" SH said.
"Not my fault that you don't see movies" I replied.
"You're a movie away from a pundit, Ace, just one movie" SH said.
"Okay, guys. Cool it off" Jane said.
"Okay, mum" I and Shola chorused.
We laughed heartily.
FEW WEEKS LATER
ACE POV:
It was summer holidays again; my best time of the year. No school, no grumpy teachers, just stress-free. Just me & my PlayStation® 5 from dusk till dawn playing my favourite games.
"Ace, get downstairs. Dinner's served" yelled Mom.
It's night already?' I said to myself. I peered into my device and saw that Mom was right.
"Coming, Mom" I said. I rushed downstairs and found the table set. I sat down and started to gobble up my portion as quick as I could.
"Slowly, Ace or you'll get a mild constipation" she said.
I nodded, but I obvious wasn't going to heed. Mom won't hear anything of me taking the food to my room, so I ate as fast as I could. I quickly took the dishes to the kitchen and rushed upstairs as quick as I could.
I resumed my game and after what seemed like some moments, something strange started to occur. I heard my name being called. I grumbled and sluggishly ran downstairs.
I found nobody in the sitting-room. I threw a word or two and climbed back upstairs. I resumed my game and after what what like another moment, I heard my name again. I grumpily came downstairs and found nobody downstairs. I climbed back upstairs, feeling confused.
I went to Mom's room and found her sleeping soundly. As I returned to my room, I tried to convince myself that I misheard. I entered my room and then resumed my game, and after a moment; it happened!
Suddenly, a powerful sensation gripped me & I began to hear a million voices in my head. I held my ears and tried to comprehend what was happening.
I began to feel a burning sensation all over my body. I screamed in surprise as I felt as if my very skin was melting away.
Immediately, everything around me started to spin at a velocity unimaginable to my senses. I felt something was liberated inside me.
My strength suddenly began to grow weaker and weaker. I screamed again as my senses began to fail me. I screamed for the last time as I blacked out.
WILLIS POV:
I was in my study when I heard a scream. I paused to hear it again but didn't, so I resumed my reading.
"Arrrrggh" I heard again.
I was sure that I heard it this time. I got up and entered the lift to leave my room. Suddenly, my chest began to glow brighter and brighter.
"It's time" I heard a voice say.
I quickly rushed out of the elevator and headed for the door, leading to Jane's room. I didn't find her. I then went downstairs to look for her.
"Jane" I called as I went down the stairs. I met Jane at the door, crying & panicking.
"Dad, it's coming from Ace's room. I've gone there but he won't open up. We're all worried. Is he going to be fine?" she asked amidst tears.
"He's going to be fine, sweetheart" I said.
"Dad, your chest is glowing. What's going on, dad?" she asked as she burst into fresh tears.
"Nothing, hon" I replied and cuddled her.
"It's time" I heard the voice say again.
"Go call your mum" I said and she obeyed.
I heard him shout again. I felt a power-surge coming from Ace's room, sending ripples of energy throughout the vicinity.
It sent me flying across the room. I landed hard on my back, crashing into my table.
"We're ready, but is he?" I asked.
HELA POV:
I was communing with 'Him' when I heard an unusual thunderclap in the sky. I came out from my cave atop the Mountains & peered into the sky. Suddenly, I felt a great rumbling as the earth below me shook with force. I steadied myself in the air with my powers so as not to fall.
I saw the ground below me, at a distance begin to break up. Suddenly, fire like a valcano spilled out of the ground in a dramatic fashion. I then heard an ear-deafening screech.
"It's..., it's...., impossible!" I heard myself say.
A large phoenix flew out of the gushing lava and let out another ear-splitting screech. It then flew swiftly, but gracefully, and spread out it's wings, like an emerging butterfly. It let out another screech and then fixed it's blazing gaze on me.
I felt shivers go down my spine. It let out another ear-deafening screech carefully directed at me. I flew out of the way, but wasn't lucky enough; part of the waves hit me. I fell swiftly and tried to steady myself.
I heard a shattering sound behind me but didn't care to look back. I watched as the phoenix then took for the skies and disappeared out of sight, letting out another screech.
I flew to my balcony.
"Boss, you are alright" Hoffer said.
"Hoffer, go and inform Wiccian that he's back" I ordered.
"Yes madam" Hoffer replied and jumped off the balcony. He turned into a big, black eagle and took for the skies.
"If he's truly back, then that spells trouble for us all" I said, still bewildered at what just happened.
