Because of this, my parents decided to put my siblings and I through martial arts training.
I know many different martial arts from all over our world that will hopefully be able to help me once I gain access to mana.
My siblings were put through this training as well because my parents didn't want them to feel like I was being favored over them.
The training won't help my siblings much other than when in a fist fight because they will eventually learn weapon arts if they don't decide to become magicians. But my class is already chosen for me before I even log into the game for the first time, so the martial arts are a must for me.
If I gain good enough control over external mana, I will have a much easier time as a magician than normal magicians would. It is rumored that the most experienced slimes can create spells with just a single flip of the finger. So, instead of having to chant a spell or move the mana from a core and into a spell, a simple hand gesture could be enough for me.
That's why my mother said what she said.
Most slimes would never reach that level of proficiency because of the difficulty, but she had hopes that I would someday be able to fly with power of my own.
This is also the reason why slimes are seen as lucky charms to the families who adopt them. Our racial potential is inherently much higher than other species, but as a universal balance system our floor potential is also much lower. We have weak bodies before they go through evolution, and with external mana being hard to use, if a slime has low potential then it is much lower than other species.
"We're here son." My mother said.
I had been lost in my thoughts so I didn't even notice when we entered the air space of the city.
Our mansion happened to be on the outskirts of the capital city of Vendar, called Neva.
Neva is the largest city on the planet, taking up almost 1,000 square kilometers of land. We could travel for hours and hours and still not be able to make it to the other end of the city.
Located all over the city are buildings known as the "Center". Centers are used for many district wide activities, but the main use of Centers are for nano injections.
Every year, 15 year olds are taken by their parents to the closest Center to them for nano injections. The nano injection is what allows citizens of Vendar to enter the tutorial and then later the main UTO game. We are also given access to the web through the nanobots.
This is the only thing that was provided to us by UTO when we joined the alliance. If we wanted anything else that would help to further our advancement, like a planetary mana core, we would have to buy it ourselves.
My mother guided Monte down to the entrance of the large skyscraper.
"Let's use the side entrance." Mom said aloud.
There was a very long line stretching from the entrance of the building to the street. It was filled with 15 year olds and their parents.
We landed to the side of the building, and away from the line. There were many who saw the large griffin, and some were peeved that a person had the audacity to try the side entrance, but others recognized the griffin and instantly understood.
My mom and dad could be considered major celebrities on our planet, not only because of their royal status but also because of their strength. My mother has completed many successful raid and dungeon runs in the main game, and her exotic tames have become a staple of her popularity.
She is known by many as the Beast Queen. So many of our citizens started calling her this that she gained an official title within the game.
Knock! Knock!
Mom knocked on the side door of the skyscraper building.
We heard angry stomps coming towards the door before it swung open violently.
"Wha-"
"Oh! I am so sorry my queen, and prince." A man said with a bow.
"You may rise." My mother said.
"Thank you. How may I help you?" He asked politely.
"Prince Maruma needs his nano injection."
"Ah, of course. Congratulations my prince." The man said with another bow.
"If you two could please follow me."
The man led them into the building and through a few hallways before they were brought into a small white room.
The room had a small inclined bed with a sheet of wax paper on it and a few chairs lining the walls. There was a holographic computer on one side and a few doctor's tools.
"I will be right back." The man said before leaving and closing the door behind him.
I hopped onto the bed and sat on the edge while my mom sat down on one of the chairs.
Not even a minute later, a doctor rushed into the room.
"I am so sorry to keep you waiting, my Queen and Prince." He gave a deep bow as soon as he closed the door to the room.
The man was wearing a white lab coat and a few tools around his neck.
"Rise." Mom said.
She was used to this kind of treatment from the commoners. Neither her nor my dad were bad to their citizens, but they understood the power they held and usually decided to be overly respectful.
"You obviously don't have any paperwork you need to fill out, so would you like to get right to it Prince Maruma?" He asked.
"Sure." I responded.
He clasped his hands together before saying, "Great!".
He then went over to the counter and grabbed a syringe that was already filled with a liquid.
He brought it up to my arm and slowly pushed it in as if he didn't want to make any mistakes.
It stung a bit but I'm a big boy, I can take it.
"All done." He then said and pulled the syringe out.
Ding!
A sound rang out in my ears before a holographic screen popped up in front of my eyes.
[You have been injected with 7th Gen nanobots.]
[Now commencing the setup…]
