Chapter 14 - Bounty Hunter

"My name is A.J. and I work as a bounty hunter," he said in response to my query. He drank a sip of the coffee as he spoke. and immediately spat it back into the cup while yelling, "What did you put in it, dirt?" After he said that, I gently reminded him, "As I said, this is my first time ever making coffee."

He looked at me after hearing my response and said, in an irritated tone, "I've never had anything like this in my life, but it's bloody awful. Dude, even my younger brother can make better coffee." My lips twitched as I brought the conversation back to the main point after hearing his sarcastic comments, "Aham, as you were saying, you are a bounty hunter or something like that, but why are you here?" I asked him why he was breaking into my apartment.

A.J. told me that he broke into my house, set up a show, and stayed there to test me out after noticing that I was different during the party. He did this to see how I would react if I discovered someone in my living room. I then brought the conversation back on topic. I questioned him after hearing his response, "What would have happened if I had panicked or screamed like a regular guy?"

A.J. said, "I would have tranquilized you, put you on your bed, and left the apartment," after pulling a gun from his hood and setting it down on the table between us. In a laid-back manner, he said this. "But why?" I wondered aloud as soon as I heard this. "Why go to such lengths to just test me out?" "What would you get out of all of this?" I added. When A.J heard this, he gave me a face I was too familiar with and said, "Because I am desperate," before continuing to tell me about his experience.

A.J. described how his father, a scientist, was killed in an accident and how that caused his life to spiral downward. He wanted to enlist in the army in two years and had two younger siblings who attended school. His mother gave everything she had to meet their needs, but she eventually passed away from exhaustion. He began bounty hunting as a result, but his low rank and lack of allies left him in a precarious position.

In the beginning, things went well for him as he began to hunt down criminals and kill some of them for cash to support his two brothers. He made enough money to provide for his brothers' needs for a year, but nowadays he can only get a high-risk hunting job, and doing the job alone carries a significant risk of death. Due to his low rank, other hunters refused to hunt with him, but these days he was barely making any progress. I could see the desperation in his eyes as I listened to his story. I recognized a phase of myself in him that I had recently outgrown.

I could see his struggles when I saw all of this, but I was cold-hearted because he was a stranger I had just met. "So what do you want me to do?" I asked. When A.J heard this, he looked me in the eyes and said solemnly, "Please become a bounty hunter and team up with me." Despite the fact that I could tell he was being serious when he asked, I kept my composure and asked, "And why do you think that I would join you?" I asked. He looked at me when he heard the question and said, "I saw you the day you came with the agent to see the apartment."

I was perplexed when I heard and questioned, "So what?" I didn't understand, A.J noticed, so he pointed at my nails and said, "Because of the state of your nails, I assumed you might be a danger to the neighbourhood. I invaded using my hunter ID and arrived at a building where you had left the previous day. When I entered, I discovered 58 bodies inside. All of them had been killed at close range using a blade of some kind, and about 20 of them had bounty signs over their heads. "

When I heard this, my face turned cold and a black aura emanated from my body as I asked, "So, are you threatening me?" When A.J sensed the murderous intent behind my words, he quickly replied, "No, No, I am not. I am just offering a partnership because I know you luted them and all the money you are using will eventually run out. We'll split any money we make equally. " My desire to kill vanished at this point as I focused on A.J's language and concepts.

He's correct. This money will eventually run out, and I might need to get a job to make some more. Even if I don't run out of the money I currently have, having more money won't be a problem and could be useful at some point. After giving A.J's words some thought, I began to consider the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a bounty hunter. I reasoned that the jobs had few drawbacks, the money earned from hunting would be helpful, and I could get in shape or even better myself before enlisting in the army.

It only took me a few seconds to finish thinking, and then I nodded and said, "Ya, you're right, I do need to earn more money." A.J.'s face lit up as he stood up, grabbed both of my hands, "That's great form, now on we are partners," and added "my Alice is Black phantom you should decide yours too" when I heard this I asked, "how did you decide your name as Black Phantom? I know this might sound really wrong when coming out of my mouth, and I'm sorry that I asked this but Is it because you are bl-?" Before I could finish, A.J pointed a gun at my head and said in a stern voice, "I dare you to complete that sentence."
