My feelings were complicated as our lips parted and I came out of my trance, because I never expected her to make the first move, and I wasn't sure how to feel about it all. I wasn't sure if I could care for her. I was afraid I wouldn't be there for her when it mattered the most. My thoughts were jumbled.
I asked her, "Are you sure about this?" with a puzzled expression on my face. Aimee looked at my worried and doubtful expression and said, "I am not sure." When I heard this, I asked her again, "Why? I'm not sure I'm the right person for you. I might not be there when you need me. "
When she heard this, she smiled and said, "Your right, you might not be the person for me, or you might not be there for me when I really need you to be there, but why not give it a try? It might not work out in the end, but we tried, right? "
My heart relaxed a little when I heard this. We made an attempt. We may not succeed in the end, and we may go our separate ways and end up in different places, but we tried. Her words gave me a sense of relief I hadn't felt before, which I liked. The feeling of having someone who will be there for you.
After this thought passed through my mind, it was as if it had relieved some of my worries. I gently grabbed Aimee's waist and pulled her closer, kissing her on the lips this time. She was startled at first when I grabbed her, but once she realized what I was after, she followed my movement and kissed me back.
We moved down the stairs after that kiss and sat and talked for hours, laughing, cracking jokes, and getting to know each other. When I was talking to her, I felt good. It was nice to know that someone was there for you if you needed them, but there was always the worry about when I wouldn't be here and she needed me, but what if I wasn't there?
All of these thoughts ran through my mind at the same time, but I couldn't come to a conclusion, so I thought, 'Fuck it, dude, I'll just have to deal with it when the time comes.' It was an unanswered thought, a worry that I couldn't fully dispel.
After hours of talking, the party came to an end, and the adults who had remained began to leave. Aimee also left because she had school tomorrow and had to get up early, but not before kissing my cheeks and leaving after becoming flustered by her actions.
I was about to leave after she left, but a large hand grabbed my shoulder, and when I looked at the owner of the hand, I saw Jack's smiling face. "H-hello, Jack," I said, not sure how to approach my girlfriend's dad. "Good job, kid, you wooed my daughter in a day," Jack said, dismissing my stiff tone. After saying this, he burst out laughing and patted my shoulder with a force that was somewhere between friendly and serious.
After hearing this and attempting to shift my gaze away from his, I inquired, "Are you sure you should be celebrating my wooing of your daughter in a day?" When Jack heard this, he burst out laughing and simply stated, "Cooking classes at dinner time. Come to my house. I'm sure you'd like to meet your girlfriend's mother. " Jack gave me a smirk that only someone who had coughed up a big prayer would give, and then he left even before I could respond.
When I saw this, I sighed and walked away. I made my way to my room. When I arrived, I was about to enter my room. I knew something was wrong as I reached for the keycard that opened the apartment door, but as I entered the living room, I was certain. I didn't reach for the lights but instead sat on the sofa. "So, what brings you here?" As I sat down on the sofa, I inquired.
My eyes began to glow bright red as I stared at the man sitting directly across from me. "So you noticed me before you came in? I'm surprised. " I noticed the man next to me was wearing a black mask and a black hood with blue trim. When I saw his clothes, I thought to myself, 'That's quite nice looking.'
"It's difficult to notice someone I just met at a party." When I said this, the man flinched and gave me a look that screamed "how do you know who I am?" Even through the mask, I could read his expression. When I saw this, I laughed and asked, "Would you like tea or coffee?" My question startled him a little, and he sighed and removed his mask and hood.
It was the same boy whose gaze met mine when I was practicing my presence sense technique. As he sat there, he asked, "What if I was someone you'd never met before and you didn't recognize me?" As I mixed the instant-coffee powder with worm water, my eyes flared up and some of my black aura leaked out of my body as I said coldly, "I would have killed you without asking any questions."
"Normal citizens would be scared of what you just said and might report you to the cops," he laughed when he heard my response. "What makes you think I don't do the same?" he inquired. When I heard this, I said coldly, "I can tell if someone has killed or not just by looking at them." I said this as I placed some coffee in front of him. "I hope you don't mind that I've never made coffee before," I added,
"I see you are right. Those who have killed before have a different feeling than the others," he said. When I heard this, I nodded and said, "Enough with the small talk. Will you tell me why you're here? " and "Who are you?"
