"We come as the Balance Enforcers of the entire scope of Existence, and we are here to apprehend you for tipping the balance..."The male newcomer said, his voice full of charisma and melody, his hands accentuated his words as he spoke in a noble splendor.
The full mask retracted from Conan's face and revealed his serpentine eyes and devilish face "What did I do?" He inquired defiantly. It's not that he didn't know beforehand, but he asked anyway.
Silence prevailed for a while and all that was heard was the rustling of winds and whimpers and howls of monsters from the forests and sounds of worship of people from the feet of the mountain.
Having had enough of the awkward silence, the male Enforcer whispered to the female "Hey, slock! it's your turn!"
The female named slock turned to the male and looked at him blankly before blinking twice and snapping out of whatever state she was "Uh... Oh! Conan, the minor celestial. A celestial is a celestial anyway..." Her tone only showcased how bored she was, even as she tried to make it livelier.
The male enforcer shook his head and murmured to himself in annoyance "There goes the grandeur of our advent, all ruined..."
She shook her hand in the air and notes appeared on her hand. Then she started to read; "Your offenses are: First, resurrecting a mortal." She smacked her lips as she proceeded to tell the details "A little over two thousand years ago, you resurrected a human being, who has not even an ounce of soul power, and is not even a cultivator of the Soul Transformation stage, all because of love."
Conan closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as he heard such, he has made so many mistakes and had broken so many rules, because of being desperate not to be lonely. He didn't regret though, instead, he felt angry and dissatisfied, for all his efforts had gone to waste.
"All immortal beings have the access to Soul Arts but only to devour soul wisps from departing souls, not to resurrect them because a mortal soul being delayed after their time or never to be seen after their time causes a serious turmoil in the soul forge, and the natural order will be disrupted. Unless it is being reset, the cycle of death and life might erupt into disarray and reality might crumble and it will reset itself anyway."The man explained further in detail.
"The second offense: Sending a soul to the soul forge before their time."The female enforcer read the second offense casually, "After your beloved died, you transplanted her soul into that of a newborn baby, that was supposed to be the first queen for humanity in the future, but thanks to you, it was sent back to the soul forge before their time thus creating an even bigger disturbance in the soul forge because they weren't expecting it, yet."
Conan frowned on hearing that, "Is that why you did that to her?" He pointed at the mountain of flaming ashes– or what remained of his beloved.
"We are getting there, it's included in your third offense." The male enforcer gestured for him to be patient and then turned to his partner "Slock, you're talking too slow."
The woman then sighed, "Block, seriously? You asked for a grand entrance and now you're criticizing me?"
Block, the man enforcer scoffed and looked away "Continue..."
Conan was already getting fed up, and even felt insulted. It's like they took what they were doing as a cruise. He was about to summon his sword when he realized that his sword was always kept with his wife, as they were both connected to it. It was the sign of love between the two, and promise, the covenant of their marriage: That he would never use any other sword— or love any other woman, from a lady's perspective.
"Your third offense: Creating a second Phoenix through unconventional means." The woman continued albeit with less ceremony this time around "After resurrecting your beloved, you barged into Nirvana, the abode of the Phoenix Zodiac. You took its blood forcefully, and assimilated it with your beloved's blood, thus giving her the bloodline of a phoenix. You did so because, the phoenix is a pseudo celestial and they possess cosmic energy, but you forgot that two phoenix(s) can't exist at the same time."
"When your wife, evolved to become a phoenix, Existence erased her from existence to bring natural order back to reality."The man clarified and added "being powerful doesn't mean you could tamper with the laws of reality and get away with it. Not even the Primes."
Conan felt tired and stressed, he didn't even have the strength to mourn. Now he was going to become lonely again.
"What now? You guys take me away and put me to sleep? or even erase me from existence?"Conan flew towards the duo and sighed "I hope it's entertaining."
He was ready to face the consequences as he couldn't live with the torment of loneliness that had come back with the death of his beloved wife, accompanied by guilt and remorse. He was devastated and for the first time in thousands of years, he didn't know what to do and he felt like putting himself to eternal sleep.
But as he was advancing towards the enforcers, something forced him to stop, something superior to him. He glanced at the colossal hole that had torn up in space and saw an eye staring at him.
The eye was so vast that it reflected several galaxies of stars, oozing out tremendous amounts of dense cosmic energy in the form of flames, mutating the nearby monsters as a result of exposure to too much cosmic energy.
Conan was shocked by the sudden appearance of "A Prime Celestial?" He halted and stared wide-eyed at the eye that peered through the hole.
But he got over it in no time and maintained a neutral expression.
"Ah... Little one, I can't let you sleep in eternity, you're the only one."A grand voice came out, pressuring and domineering in all of its gracefulness.
The Enforcers bowed on the arrival of the prime celestial. "What a grand advent..." commented block with a smirk.
"You're taking your job lightly." slock reprimanded block softly.
"Why is that? it's not like the prime celestials care about me anyway... I've been alone ever since I became a celestial, not even a Prime Celestial to acknowledge me."Conan spoke nonchalantly and looked away "sleeping in eternity is the best way for me to overcome my emotions, I have to face my consequences anyway."
"Indeed, but the balance has always been meant to be shifted either way. I'll make you sleep for a while and wake you up when it's time for you to start your newfound assignment..."The Prime Celestial spoke.
Conan frowned upon hearing what the Prime Celestial said and he had a bad feeling as to what was to come.
"... K needs more like you Conan, I am the only prime celestial and the cosmos is spreading rapidly and just like you, I'm alone. You can go now, I can't stay here for long." the prime celestial added.
With that said, Conan started to feel constraints all over him, wrapping him in a cocoon of bindings. He resisted "No! this is torment!"
"No... This is to show you that, even if you're a minor celestial, there are beings stronger than you are and you'll have to pay prices. I still have a lot to tell you later but for now, off you go."
He was hurled across the sky by the prime celestial, while the enforcers watched as his figure shot through the sky like an arrow and soon a twinkle appeared in the distance and he was nowhere to be seen.
After a few moments of utter silence, the prime celestial left, and the Enforcers were left behind. They looked at each other and nodded in tactical understanding before they went on to pack the flaming ashes— phiona's residues.
As they set foot on the peak of the mountain and stood in front of the mountain of flaming ashes, block, the enforcer asked, "Hey slock, is it okay to lie to him that his wife is dead?"
"What has to be done, will be done anyways. I don't care."Slock replied bluntly.
Block chuckled "I can't believe it..."
Slock looked at him questioningly "What?" she asked.
Then he spoke "Doesn't he know that the Phoenix of Nirvana gets burnt to death by its flames every thousand years? And resurrects after being exposed to cosmic energy from the Star of Nirvana? His wife is not dead she just got reborn, he must be so devastated thinking his wife died and thinking about what she said before she got reduced to ashes by her flames?" he chuckled and shook his head at how interesting things had become.
"You know what we have to do right?"Slock inquired from him, lest he had forsaken his duty.
"Yes, we pack the ashes and leave."Bock however proved otherwise.
"Well, our celestial will realize the truth one day... Hehe, one day."Slock displayed a smile for once and a sadistic one at that.
Block shook his head as he got to work together with his partner, but they both paused on seeing an Abomination in the Ashes.
"..."
...
Meanwhile, Conan has flung away with a tremendous amount of force that the speed at which he was moving plunged a momentary hole in space at one point, and he was plunged out into another location before space mended itself.
He was sent to an unknown location...
The air whistled as he plummeted into the forest. Trees snapped as he rammed in them and rocks crumbled as rolled limply down the slopy Forest.
His body— now naked— hit all kinds of obstacles as he rolled freely down the slope but they all crumbled into splinters, all too weak to stop his mighty descent down the sloppy hill.
His mind, however, was in complete chaos, His roll came to a free fall as he plummeted off the cliff, down into the sea that lies at its feet.
As he felt the water whelmed him, he closed his eyes and slept, but the last thing his consciousness dreamt of was, him floating amid countless chasms of his own emotions: Sadness & Loneliness; Guilt & Remorse.
And as he drowned further into the chasms, the voice of his beloved– Phiona, reverberated, along with the feelings of hatred that came with it.
All his life, he had thought she was satisfied with him resurrecting her, he didn't even consider her feelings of him subjecting her, a mortal, to the torments of immortality.
"I was too desperate, too rash. So unbefitting of me, I thought I found a partner, so I experimented on her." he spat himself and drowsed off.
And so everything came to a pause. The chasms, the emotions caressed his very being as his thoughts came to stop as well.
On the surface, The water which he had pummeled into froze on its surface, only to be unfrozen when the mighty entity sleeping in it awakened.
As he drowned and was overwhelmed by the waters, large aquatic creatures came and started revolving around him, and slowed his descent to the sea floor.
