Jace's POV
I found myself even more restless for tonight.
After tucking in the drunk Amiel, the bottle of liquor she had left in their living room called out to me.
I fancied myself a glass and sat by the kitchen. There was a view of the outside, and the sky was covered with stars.
I might have finished the bottle, my body buzzing a little. I kept seeing Amiel's face before me. She looked so beautiful in that black dress and more so when she was just wearing her pajamas.
I slapped my cheek, shaking my head.
"No, you can't do that, mate."
I chuckled to myself. I must be losing my mind. At this rate, there will be no one who would argue with that. I, honest to goodness, was losing it.
Pouring the last content of the drink, I raised the glass before finishing it. Then, I slammed a hand on the table and started laughing.
"You're an idiot, Jace. You brought this upon yourself, and now you must pay for the consequence."
