Feeling the jerk coming out of the FTL jump he knew he was at his location being Dochion, once again was he going in the familiar direction of the science districts west of the capital. However, this time he was going to discuss more current and more possible technologies with multiple science directors. Finding his shuttle over the same sprawling district filled with tall buildings and wide parks Aleister although a master warrior simply due to a lifetime of training felt a small tinge of trepidation at the thought of another assassination attempt, something that was obviously brought on by the earth aspect of Aleister.
Unlike the tall building of the mega-scale engineering section, in the middle of the whole science district that spanned miles of flatlands was a giant ring-like building with a tall obelisk-shaped building in the center. The transport landed in an outdoor pad that had two lines of 12 Royal guards, and if an observant person looked they would find another two dozen people in the classic black armor that the royal guard wore scattered around the giant open park between the ring and the obelisk.
Walking down the ramp Aleister passed half of the two lines before they also began to walk with him, meaning there were a dozen guards behind him and a dozen in front. After a leisurely three-minute walk from the pad, he made his way into the front of the building and past the lady who was at the front desk standing in attention. Through the winding halls, he made it into one of the main presentation chambers, in it was a giant hologram projector in the middle of the room while there were around 50 chairs in a sloping circle around it.
Almost all of the Science directors were here bared the Mega Scale engineering Director, genetic engineering director, and the Nanotechnology Director. Once Aleister sat down he once again took out a stack of notes and thoughts he jots down a habit too powerful and useful from earth to break, this, of course, confused everyone else as the previous generations of kings were completely unlike this neat and organized idea.
"Alright today we will discuss the general desired direction of the departments, any breakthroughs, and a general funding increase" Aleister began once all of the eyes were on him "Starting with the breakthroughs, although most of the divisions were recently created and thus have no reports there are a few of you who should are there any?".
"Your majesty If I may start?" A man with glasses standing above a plack stating 'Weapons Director' began before looking for permission to which Aleister granted "you may begin".
"Thank you" He started while the hologram changed to a flak gun "As you all know the Vore left us with the technology yet due to the short timeframe our understanding of their technology was mostly on the little literature that they had given and an extensive reverse engineering project, thus the guns on our ships are vastly bigger than they should be and a little weaker. The reason for this was that we couldn't understand how the gun could receive such a large electric charge without exploding, although I'm fairly certain that this wasn't the method the vore used, it works just as well".
Upon finishing his short speech the hologram zoomed into a wire that was partly cross-sectioned "Upon further research, with an alloy called Patonuium-Copper 1 can be made into a wire that is not only strong enough but conductive enough can be made to reduce the bulk of a gun by about 40% while the output can be increased by 30%".
"Additionally due to the smaller and easier moved frame our department created an energy-based version of the flak cannon, making the flak completely useless as this new energy-based anti starfighter cannon can fight against starfighters with shielding more effectively" to which the man with glasses sat down and received a back pat from a woman to his left which was the director in charge of the thrusters on ships "Very good director! You and your entire division will be properly rewarded for such an important and strategic discovery, is there anyone else?".
"Yes your majesty we both have reports" both the woman and another man stood up being the shielding director "you may begin when ready".
"I will start, with the important discovery of Krenid our fellow director and his team, our division has reconstructed the shielding array in a way that allows a greater input of energy allowing the shielding to be around 45% stronger while the recharge rate is 70% faster now at 1.5 minutes".
"Our team also was able to use Krenid's new wire technology to create a more efficient and faster thruster system although our gains were not as impressive as the thrusters used aren't purely energy-based, at 20% more efficient and 7% faster".
"Do not discredit yourselves, any improvement is an improvement, and improvement is good" Replied Aleister right after the woman finished "now are there any other important breakthroughs? No, alright then for those who did please send the blueprints to the Naval architects and Shipyard so any upgrades can begin as soon as possible".
"Now let's begin with the division responsible for ship hulls, What are you working on at this moment?".
"Your majesty we are working on a process that would allow us to layer Patonuium-Iron 4 better known as Patonuium Ship Hull Alloy, in such a configuration that emp-based weaponry would be less effective, and if that is a dead-end then we will begin with the creation of a new alloy that can be layered into a ships hull to the same effect while not compromising any structure".
"Ok, and is any funding required for this?".
"Yes and no your majesty, no as currently there are no problems. However, with a lack of a facility in this system to test an alloy against many things such as tensile strength, shear strength, Torsional strength, Compressive strength, Yield strength, and any resistance from any ship weaponry or emp the research is grinding to a halt while the funds to create such a facility are there, if those are spent them then no remaining funds would be available, therefore, we request 4 billion Stryminat for the construction of such a facility".
"Done, now for the division responsible for ship thrusters, what is the current direction, and is any funding required?".
"Right now four thrusters are in research, two energy-based ion thrusters and two fuel-based, as for funding none is required however a boost in division numbers would be much appreciated" The same woman stood up and as requested answered the question.
