Chapter 53 - Rescue

At this reveal Adonis was thoroughly disheartened by the matter. He wanted to cut off the head of the snake. He only got all the minions and all who joined in this little revolution or at least that is what he suspected from the evidence gathered thus far.

They wanted to weaken him in the eyes of the government and make them lose faith in him and thus his high connections in the human world. They not only wanted to bring him down but to discredit him as well. What else could be their end game at this point he reasoned.

Nevertheless he did get the location of the witnesses.

But this key player, the main man was still out there and was still unknown to Adonis. He did not like it.

That individual had managed to keep himself well hidden and that was worrisome, he could be anybody.

However it must be someone high up the hierarchy Adonis suspected.

Adonis made a note to "question" some of these key players when arrested. See if any of them really have never met this man that's in charge. They could have, and there was just no footage or paper trail.

Adonis was hoping desperately to learn the identity of his true enemy.

Alistair also informs him that by this time tomorrow they should all be in custody, including Beta Drew.

Adonis did feel optimistic about the news, he couldn't wait to do a dive into Beta Drew's mind.

Soon the team in the air found landing in a field about two miles away from the intended location and Adonis was summoned back to the command center.

The men would go the rest on foot.

Switching off the helicopter they file out, each grab their gears and they then made their way to the abandoned building where the witnesses were currently being held.

The air was still and the surroundings very quiet except for the chirping, cawing and croaking of little critters.

Just about a few minutes to six in the evening, the sun was quickly going down. The sky where the sun sets shown a beautiful volcano orange in color with gold hues.

It spreads out from that deep golden hue and thins to a few shades lighter, casting even more beautiful hues over the sky. Then it blends into the bluest of blue sky.

There were eight of them in total and they moved as quietly, stealthily and in-sync as possible.

Before reaching the perimeter they continued their scanning, the land was mostly barren. Even the trees surrounding the building on the outskirts looked barren. The forest they were walking through were barren.

The team had encountered and taken out one guard so far. It was quick and quiet, the werewolf in human form did not see it coming.

They scanned the entire perimeter with ease, taking out four more guards outside as they inch their way closer to the building. The guards were spread around the perimeter guarding it, and the witnesses inside.

The team now continued with stealth and precision.

They were the Royal Elite Squad after all. Skilled in their craft, they were highly trained weapons that were able to eliminate their targets easily.

These men guarding the building were considered amateurs at best.

With the perimeter now secured, two remained outside as look out for any incoming vehicle or any suspicious activities.

The remaining six head in, as things were progressing quickly, smoothly and almost effortlessly. They did not think it necessary to wait on the team on land.

They knew the exact room located on the third floor of the building that they needed to get to. Their aim was to quickly clear the floors one by one taking out all in their way and move upwards.

The building was a huge three floor building with lots of rooms. It looked abandoned, like people haven't been here in years.

Paint were flaking off some walls in some areas, in some the wall papers were haphazardly ripped off. Mildew, mold, more moss type looking substance and debri of all types decorated the entire building, inside and out.

Vines were running all over the ground floor, on the ceilings, on the floor, the walls and curving up the stairs.

They made it to the second floor after clearing the first, when all hell broke loose. As they ascended onto the second floor, there was a guard in the corridor heading towards them.

He easily saw the bunch and yelled "INTRUDERS" before he was silenced in one smooth move by one of the Elite members.

Though it was a bit late, the alarm was already sounding, however only two more guards came rushing out and only one more was on the third floor.

This place was poorly guarded, but on second thought it was thoroughly guarded if they only had the humans to deal with.

These men were easily eliminated and the witnesses were freed. Upon seeing the Elite team, the women stayed where they were. Crouch together on a mattress on the floor.

The witnesses were held in what looks like the best looking room in this entire building. Though it was empty of proper furnitures, dimly lit and very damp. They shared one mattress with a cover that was looking dingy.

It was not a comfortable place to be kept in.

Now they were being rescued and the two witnesses were not sure who they really were. Who were these men that came in and were killing off their kidnappers.

Was it a team to save them? Or was this some type of deal gone bad and they were being taken. AGAIN!

They were here awaiting some type of auction.

The leader of the small team realize the ladies hesitance. He stretches his hand out in surrender, then slowly move said hands to take off his face gear. Then stretches his hands out again in a surrender type stance. He then introduced himself and explained where they came from and who sent them.

After what felt like an eternity of explaining and coaxing, the both women heaved a huge sigh of relief then ran and hugged him.

Help had finally come for them and they were shaking. Sharon Winters and Jenessa Mansfield were so scared, relieved and happy at the same time. That auction tomorrow had them on edge.

They were being auctioned to the very same people they were being protected from.

In Jenessa Mansfield's case, the mafia boss would pay top dollar to get his filthy hands on the last remaining family member of his enemy's bloodline.

Closing that book once and for all, while also killing the case against them.

Sharon Winters on the other hand, she wasn't so sure that her husband would want his hands on her that badly to pay top dollar, but who knew.

They had thought of that, they had a back up plan, there were plenty of moneys to be made with a beautiful thirty five year old human, one had said.

It would not be as much as they would get from the Mafia but still an alright penny.

Either way, neither of them were thrilled about the upcoming auction.

Both Sharon and Jenessa were thankful and eager to get out of that building this instance. They did not want to be in this damp place another second.

Meanwhile in the command center, Adonis visibly relaxed, Paul and Frank cheered along with Dracul.

Then the men discussed a safe haven for the witnesses to get them settled back into a routine before they go back to their lives. This could be a traumatizing experience for them and something had to be done to keep them safe.

Beta Drew was personally at one of the witness's location and can easily be identified.

Attempts would surely be made on Sharon Winter's life.

"They will stay on the castle grounds. It was the safest place for them. They can stay in one of the houses on the grounds. Plus it would just be till this matter with Beta Drew is settled…. And based on what Alistair told me we are looking at as soon as tomorrow… as such they can stay for a few days if they like." Adonis spoke up.

Dracul looks at him, an eyebrow raised in question. Asking if he was sure of this decision.

Knowing Diviya was at the castle and he was willingly inviting potential trouble? What if in a desperate attempt to eliminate the witnesses they storm the gates and kill the witnesses and all who would get in there way.

"It's fine, it is safe for them." Adonis reassured. Plus Adonis wanted to gauge the lengths Beta Drew would go in attempts to silence the witness that can identify him.

He would just have to ensure Diviya was protected at all times.

Soon word would spread of the rescued witnesses and Beta Drew will soon come to realize that the witness that can identify him can do so at anytime and he is living on borrowed time.

Adonis smiled in anticipation. And again most importantly he just needed to be SURE that Diviya was out of the way.

But this was all just in case he eluded the Elite Squad.
