Chapter 1 - 1) Blessing.........and Cursed

His mother had been telling him since he was born that he was two things to her, a blessing and a curse, it became a normal thing for her to tell him daily. He loved his mother but they weren't perfect, they both made major mistakes in their lives along the way, which was something that would never change, no matter how much he wanted it to.

As time passed and he grew up his mother started saying, "You are nothing but a curse, but it will all work out in the end. That is all the faith I have left, let's hope you can live up to it."

That was the first day that he saw a new side to his mother, the one that once loved him was gone, she was replaced by a woman who was bitter and put everything on his shoulders. Things seemed to get even worse from there though.

It all went down hill when she refused to work and they had to move in with relatives or face being homeless, something that their family always secretly looked down on her for. As more time passed it kept getting worse and worse to the point that she no longer worked, instead she relied on money from others and checks from the government in order for them to survive.

As he grew up he watched it all, he heard the whispers, it was just a living hell for him. It didn't help that he wasn't good in school, he loved to pretend he was smarter then he was but he was just average, someone who was lost in the crowds among everyone else, nothing special.

In school he got 'friends' but he knew that none would stick, they would all leave him, it didn't help that changing schools each year didn't help his cause to him making friends.

Finally everything went downhill when he entered his senior year of high school, that was when he thought maybe things could change but they got worse then what he could ever remember. That was the day that he was dead to the world, even to himself he realized that he wasn't anything in the big world.

"Mom I left school." He said standing in front of her, he was eighteen now and could legally leave school, he wanted to work rather then waste time learning, life was crashing down on him.

"What did you say?" She asked in a low whisper but it was harsh and cold as she looked up at him.

Those eyes were deadly cold and no warmth were in them at all he noticed gulping before speaking again, "I said that I left school. It is more important for me to get a job so that we can survive, after a year I will do online school and finish it. For now though working is more important."

"YOU IDIOT!! WHY CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!!" She blew up at him standing and striking him across the face, "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!! AND DON'T COME BACK YOU USELESS PIECE OF CRAP!! I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF YOU, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT RUIN MY LIFE SINCE YOU WERE BORN."

His blood ran cold, the strike to his face stung as he stood there a moment listening to her scream at him, when she started to push him out the house he allowed her to since he was still in shock. As he was kicked out the apartment he saw others around looking at him in sympathy but none walked over to help him out.

When he came back to himself he walked aimlessly until it got dark, with only thirty bucks to his name he went to ask his other family for help or even a place to stay. They all turned him away though, he wasn't allowed to stay with them nor would they lend him any money, he couldn't go home either so he was stuck on the streets.

A year passed since then and he was still living on the streets, it got worse though was he was beaten so people stole the money he collected making him eat out of garbage cans. This went on for another two years before he ate something out of a dumpster he shouldn't have eaten, this is how he died, alone in the alleyway with no one around.

/////////////////

He woke to a comforting bright light, he didn't do anything but sit there and look at the nothingness though, he could feel someone there with him but he wasn't going to turn to them. He was use to people not helping him, why should this person be any different.

"Your distrust is agreeable, if I went through what you did in life then I wouldn't trust anyone either. Your life was so terrible that most would have committed suicide, yet you went on and kept going, even after gaining those mental disorders." The person said his voice was silky smooth as he spoke.

He broke out of his haze looking at the person who was wearing glasses, the man looked like Ryan Reynolds just wearing a white suit, "Do you know why my life was so hard?" He asked looking at the man.

"You were cursed that is all there is to it. Everyone in the world is born with a curse, it effects them in different ways but no matter what everyone has one. We aren't going to get into that though, instead we are going to talk about what is going to happen to you, as you know you are dead. From here you will go on to the next plane and experience a new life, but because of your curse you get something extra." Ryan said with a grin.

"What was my curse?" He asked wondering why his life was the way it was.

Ryan paused a moment his eyes glowing before he went back to normal, "x-10,000 luck. For everything good that happened in your life you would get a rebound of -10,000 luck effecting you later in life, no matter how small the good was."

He had nothing to say to that, "Well what is happening now?"

"Well I will send you to another world of course but before that we need to spin the wheels and get your gifts along with your new curse." Ryan said while five wheels appeared behind him, "I will spin these and it will determine everything you get, don't worry as an added bonus you will get to keep your memories."

He nodded, there was nothing he could do to fight this so he would accept it.

"Alright let's start with the world." Ryan said while walking over to the first wheel it was a deep earth green color, they sat in silence as the wheel spun before stopping on the world, "Mashed DC, well this world doesn't follow the rules of any of them, it is like the multiverse all smashed into one. That will be fun for you. Alright next is background."

He didn't say anything but watched it spin again until it was landed on a background for him, the wheel was a light blue one this time, "The Joker...Hmmm seems like you will be a Villain, there is no other way for me to change that. Sorry." Ryan said while looking at him with a sheepish smile, he just shrugged he didn't care about it at all anyway, "Alright on to the powers or abilities you will obtain."

The third wheel was red with a swirl of orange and yellow in it, "Ahh Upgraded version of John Wick Abilities that is going to be awesome, that guy just can't seem to die. Next is one item that will join you on the journey."

The Silver wheel spun the longest out of all of them this one taking almost ten minutes to completely stop, he timed it the entire time it was spinning, "Oh the Shifter Pistol. I should explain before moving on since this one is a little different then what you might think, it will shift into any weapon that you can think of while also using three different bullets, one is strong enough to even kill Superman, if he is shot enough times of course."

The last wheel was black with a purple mist flowing off of it, "This last is the curse, unfortunately it is something that you must go with, no being is allowed to live without one unless of course you are as strong as me. Let's begin."

The wheel spun and he couldn't help but sweat at what he might gain, this was something that he didn't want at all, but it wasn't avoidable at all. This was also the one he paid the most attention to, he would actually remember the curse this time so he could plan ahead.

Finally it stopped and he read it closely it actually came with a description,

True Immortality- While you bear the mark of the true immortal it comes with the fatal flaw of never being able to die. While still being able to be killed the person will always resurrect and come back to life no matter what, even if the whole body is destroyed the person will be formed again in the exact same place they have died. True Immortals are bound to walk forever alone.

As he was reading he didn't notice Ryan's frown, when a twist of his hand he tweaked the curse but it wouldn't be known to him until much later in life.

"Alright well that is the last of that, you will go on to your new life then. As a little bonus from me I have given you a suit that will be repairable no matter what happens to it. Enjoy." Ryan said with a smile as a Deadpool costume went over his body as they both disappeared.
