Chapter 9 - 009

A loud crash sounded throughout the house making it's occupants jump from fright. Glenn, without a missing a beat summoned his drawing tablet.

"How many are they?" he asked, totally forgetting he was talking out loud "Can you show me a visual display of them?"

Next to him, Mac was confused an alert, even more when he saw the bracelet glow again and a blue screen appeared above in.

[5 humans. 2 at level 15, 1 at level 5 and 2 at level 3. Attribute rank level are all below A rank. Stats are all below 20]

"Shit!" Glenn swore as he heard the information and saw the five people slowly walk into the living room.

Without a doubt, he knew he wouldn't be able to win a straight up fight against them but he couldn't let them destroy anything. First, Mac had to be evacuated.

Taking out the pen attached to the seemingly ordinary drawing tablet, Glenn began to draw hastily. Thankfully, he was actually talented in art and within seconds he drew out what looked like a teleportation device from a superhero movie.

'Hope this works' he said and held the tablet out, pointing the screen at the wall. "Activate"

A strong flash of blue light appeared from the tablet and a bluish purple teleportation device appeared.

Glenn felt his head ache. It felt like his brain was being torn to sheds.

Glancing at his stats, he saw he now had only 5 QI remaining. Creating the teleportation device had taken 15 QI from him.

"Glenn..hey.." Mac hadn't had a chance to talk since as kept getting pulled around and again, Glenn pulled him towards the machine.

"Listen, I'm going to send you somewhere else. When you get there, don't go anywhere. I'll come get you when I'm done with this" Glenn said while pulling the metal door of the machine open.

Inside was warm and cozy and had weird patterns all over.

"What about you, who are those people?" Mac asked stumbling into the machine

"Obey before questions please" was all Glenn said before shutting the door and and pressing the only button on the outside.

The machine lit up and Mac's cries from inside was cut out as the symbols glowed and the tube got covered in white smoke. When the smoke cleared, the machine was empty

"Okay" Glenn said turning back to the door. Now that Mac was safe and out of the way, he could focus on himself and the house.

The intruders had already search through the kitchen and Mac's room.

One of them was currently heading to Glenn's room.

Picking a wooded bat he used for swinging practice, Glenn positioned himself at the door and when it oped, swung the bat at the person who opened it.

Bang!

A loud scream sounded as the unsuspecting man got hit on the head and crashed into the wall. The impact shook the house slightly and Glenn quickly retreated further into the room.

He could hear loud footsteps heading towards him. The others knew where he was now and were coming. Glenn looked at the bat in his hand. The same trick won't work twice, he thought. He couldn't teleport himself away either. He had way too little QI for that to work again.

As for his other two Attributes, Glenn didn't really know how they worked and he wasn't planning to do something he didn't know how to control. Without a doubt, Glenn knew he was trapped.

The half closed door was knocked down startling Glenn out of his thoughts. He saw the others at the door. Their expressions were unknown as they all had their faces covered with black handkerchiefs to counsel their identities.

They didn't speak, just nodded at each other and before Glenn could react, one of the two at level 3 stepped forward and clenched his fingers into a fist.

The man's eyes suddenly flashed and he threw out a punch at Glenn. The air around them seem to have been thrown apart an rushed towards Glenn's general direction leaving no escape route.

With nowhere to run, Glenn could only brace for impact and when it hit, he was thrown off his feet and into the wooden wall of his room. He dropped, and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Down, hurt and barely able to stay conscious with the constant ringing his his head, Glenn managed to look at his attackers, a glare so full of hatred and regret shot at them.

The one who had attacked stepped forward, probably to pick him up, Glenn didn't know. He was about to get up, at least put up a fight when suddenly one of the men at the door got thrown off his feet by an invisible force.

Glenn didn't understand what had happened and at this point, really didn't care. The white dots in his vision and the ringing in his head...

'At least Mac is safe' was his last thought before he gave in to the inviting hands of sleep.

Miss Lauren sighed in satisfaction as she filled the last of the documents in front of her and closed it, neatly placing it with the others.

She stretched out tiredly but the bright glow in her eyes didn't look one bit exhausted after the day's work. Just today alone, she had gotten more calls from the year one over-seer than she had in her years of teaching in the school.

It was either getting her students information for future competitions or possibly opportunities to explore dungeons and the likes.

It made the young lady feel nervous with excitement and most important, it made her feel useful.

The competitions between schools were a big deal and the better a school performed in these competitions, the higher their ranks. As a passionate teacher, nothing pleased Miss Lauren more than watching her students excel and if this lead to the school she taught in value increasing, then by all means, she would work hard to help in anyway she could.

Miss Lauren grabbed the coffee cup sitting in front of her and was about to take a long draw from the straw when suddenly, a flash of blue light appeared in the middle of the class. It was intense but only lasted for a second but when the light disappeared, Miss Lauren shot up from her seat in shock

"What are you!" she snapped at the person standing in the middle of the classroom. Only after exclaiming did she hear her own words and immediately tried to correct herself "I meant, who are you?" she asked

"Glenn.." was all the little whitish boy standing in the middle of her classroom could mummer before his legs gave up on him and he fell forward, unconscious.

Miss Lauren moved, her speed easily rivaling a bullet and she rushed forward and caught him before he hit the ground.

Holding the unknown boy in her hands, his head full of blonde, or is it white hair resting on her bountiful blossom, Miss Lauren couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity.

Even without clearly seeing the sleeping boy's face, his hair and skin color seem oddly familiar.

Then it hit her. Crowded by people yet keeping a polite smile on his lips, skin pale, almost white like his hair and an air of maturity about him.

"Wait, did he say Glenn?!" Miss Lauren's head snapped up and she picked the sleeping boy hastily. She carefully moved him on her back and moved again, her figure barely visible.

'Didn't Glenn awaken a time and space attribute? Surely he could teleport things and if he could why did he send this boy, his younger brother maybe, here.

But why would Glenn send a little kid out of the house at such hour of the night? Unless, something was happening in his house'

Miss Lauren's brain shot out questions and answers one after the other as she moved in the night, an unconscious kid on her back.

All she could think about was how hell was going to blow over if someone really attacked the Beck's home .
