"On the left, 9 o'clock."
They're on a stakeout. After a few days of careful planning, they have plotted a Telamur runaway in the city square. The Cassanos dressed as civilians, so the runaway they had to find didn't even know they're one of the spies.
Leo decided to split the two categories apart. The runaways were the only ones who escaped the borders without conviction while the fugitives had been on the run every single day, thinking everybody was the police officer.
For now, they had to capture two runaways, and follow an order from Jeremy Tyran.
What's frightening was that… they had been ordered to kill them.
Leo and Vincent stayed in place. Randall was at the coffee shop, while Etienne was pretending to check the flowers by the market. Jon Cho, who was at the center square, followed the tracks of the runaways.
"The runaway's wearing a yellow shirt and pants. Copy that."
It's just a whisper, but their technology is updated. They heard it loud and clear at their earpiece.
"On it," Vincent mumbled. He turned to Leo.
"Let's go."
Leo and Vincent gave a look to Randall and Etienne. They didn't nod or even give a signal. The Cassanos built a silent conversation for the five of them. Whenever Leo walked backwards, that meant he had to take care of the runaway. Everyone else can use the code.
Vincent readied his bullet bombs as part of his experiment. Leo walked backwards, retrieved some pair of leather gloves inside his coat, and wore it with ease. Vincent threw a small box of the bullet bombs, asking, "Are you going to try it?"
"Might as well try it for a better use in the future," Leo uttered.
They followed the runaway down an alley, and luckily, when he came out of the street, he strode for a run. Vincent was the first one to react, shouting, "Hey!"
Leo chased him away, too. The runaway topple over a vendor cart and the apples came rolling down the street. It didn't bother Leo and Vincent. They just split for a while, turning to the side street, and run faster. They're born like cheetahs.
Leo retrieved his silencer and his pistol. He loaded it with the normal bullet, clicked the magazine, and aimed it with one hand. Leo shot his heel, and the runaway fell on the floor, grunting in pain. Vincent reached him already, tugged onto the back of his shirt, and kicked his abdomen.
Leo slow down, gasping for air, locked the trigger, and slid the pistol inside his pockets.
The runaway screamed, "What do you want from me?! Just let me… let me live in peace!"
"You're not going to be at peace if you're running away from Telamur, you idiot!" Vincent bellowed. Leo approached the runaway wincing in pain. He didn't retort back to Vincent anymore.
He turned to the two men in front of him, growling, "Who are the two of you?!"
Leo didn't answer back and waited for the rest of the Cassanos to show up. Randall, Etienne and Jon Cho reached the scene right away. The runaway, in the name of Theo, hissed, knew he's already doomed for the day, and that he's cornered by the spies.
Theo mumbled, "Who are all of you… Tina Yunis' dogs to lap on me?!"
Etienne tilted his head to one side. What this Telamur citizen knows of this unlikeable job?
"What do you know about us, Mr. Theo Rilop?"
"Tina Yunis spread her dogs to attack the runaways and the fugitives. They're the ones who didn't know what kind of a demon Yunis was. The spies are blinded by money, and they only do it not to get killed---"
Randall came forward and kicked him right on the back. Theo cradled on his side, the pain was excruciating. The bullet in his heel penetrated to its skin, and the kicks Cassanos made it unfathomable. Randall has to control his temper.
Leo hunkered down, running out of patience with Theo Rilop. He slapped him on the cheek, grabbed his collar, and hitched it closer. Theo couldn't even look him in the eye. Leo clenched his jaw, whispered in an infuriated voice, "Hey, you don't know what you're talking about. Do you even know our faces? You do not, right?"
Theo piled up the saliva inside his mouth and spat right on his face. Leo didn't even care about that, and tugged his collar. Etienne and Jon Cho sighted police officers coming, but they had a knack to control the killings at the right time. Randall and Vincent pulled out their bullet bombs.
Leo asked once again, "Do you know us? If you do, and admit that you do, I'd blow your head off."
Randall furrowed his eyebrows, and turned to the police. He fired the first bullet bomb, and it pierced through the air with a whoosh. Vincent watched its effect, and it exploded. Randall gasped, observing the fire effect of the bullets on the police officers, engulfing them in flames.
Vincent applauded in glee, watching the fire ignited onto their skin, chattering their bones, and melting the sockets of their eyes. Vincent knew the experiment was successful. He turned around, seeing Etienne and Jon Cho using it, too.
They have an escape route by the narrow street. So it's totally fine for them to get trapped.
Leo aimed the muzzle on Theo's head, ready to pull the trigger.
"I'll ask you once again: do you know me or not?" he warned.
Theo was now crying in fear. Leo doesn't have any mercy at all. Even if he said no, he'd blow his head off. Leo sighed, impatient about the answer, but calmed himself down for a while. Theo mewled like a cat, "Yes, I do know you and the Cassanos."
Leo doesn't know if he should hide his surprise.
He didn't have a second thought and blew his head off. The blood splattered on his face as Theo's head flailed in his arms. Leo let his body fall of the floor as Etienne turned to his boss.
"Leo…"
Leo hissed in anger. He stood up, holding the gun tightly, and didn't even stare at the runaway he killed. Leo wiped off the blood from his face, and was the first one to abandon the body. Vincent and Randall was the one in charge to take care of the mess.
Etienne and Jon Cho checked if his pulse is already dead.
Leo walked through the narrow street, retrieving his cell phone with bloody hands, and his hands trembled slightly.
How come the runaways of the Telamur knew their identities?
Randall ran, asking, "Leo! What happened?!"
He dialed Jeremy Tyran's number.
