Chapter 17 - Next Morning

"Hello?" She answered, grogly. "What?"

'Ah, Mr. Lennox needs you to come and get him.' a man on the other side of the line said. Gwen was confused.

"Ethan?"

'Yes, ma'am. He said you are his wife and…"

"No, no. I am not."

'Well, he is quite drunk.'

Gwen wanted to tell the man to just put Ethan in a cab and that was it. She would do exactly that.

"Look, I am not his wife. And I can't go right now. Just put him in a car and send him home. Good night." She turned off the call and went back to sleep.

'Call Darla!' she thought and it was like she had just closed her eyes again, when the insistent noise of her beel ring was preventing her from sleeping.

"Aaaargh!" She got up and went to her door. When she opened it, a heavy thing fell on her. "What the…?"

"Baby!" He said and she recognized the voice.

"Ethan? What are you…?"

She didn't finish her sentence. He kissed her hard. She didn't like alcohol at all and he was smiling just like that. His natural maly scent mixed with alcohol.

'He is drunk, have patience', she tried to tell herself, looking at the sofa and giving a few steps into that direction.

"I want you now!" He said and she tried to release her waist from his grip, but he used the sofa to put her down.

"Why don't you wait here a bit while I go wash myself?" She asked, just to make him let her go. She would go to her room and lock the door.

She got up, but he sat in a better position and pulled her to him. She was on his lap, blushing crimson.

"Ethan…"

"I missed you." He said and now, looking at his face, it was difficult for her to ignore his presence.

He was stronger than before, much more handsome, especially when he was so relaxed like at that moment. Her heart was racing. She couldn't give in! She was not falling for that trap again! She tried to move, but it just made him even more excited. She was sitting on his lap, so, of course she was onto something.

"Fuck, Gwen!" He said and pulled her down, while his hips went up.

She was almost, almost letting herself do it. They didn't have the best marriage of all, but their sex life was great. At least at those moments, he would look at her and she could feel he liked her in some way.

"No!" She said. "Let go of me, Ethan!" She hit his chest, but he wouldn't let her go.

"I love you, Gwen." He said and she stopped moving. Sensing she stopped trying to get free, he turned her around and soon, she was under him. "I love you so much."

He kissed her neck and both his hands held her legs under her knees, bringing her closer to him.

"Ethan… stop it."

He kissed her lips and she didn't resist anymore. He was damn wasted, but he still had enough conscience to drag her to her bedroom.

The thing is, once they were there, the alcohol finally took effect and he stopped moving. He would still mumble some words, but he could not keep taking her clothes off. Gwen stayed there, unmoving, breathing hard.

'That's for the best', she thought. 'How could I let him do it?'

She finally slept again.

Ethan was the first one to wake up. He smelled something sweet and it reminded him of Gwen. Gwen! He opened his eyes at once and looked around. He was holding her waist, with one leg on top of hers. He still had his pants on and she was wearing her bra and pajamas pants.

His head was killing him.

'What the hell am I doing here?' he asked himself. He was still wearing the party clothes. He tried to get up and his head was spinning. A damn hangover.

Flashes from the night before popped in his mind and he looked at Gwen once more. Did he say… That he loved her? For real? Well, if he did, she didn't buy it.

Ethan approached her body and looked better at her face. She was sleeping peacefully. So beautiful. He frowned, because he remembered she was very beautiful, has always been, but he didn't remember waking up with her in bed. Of course not, he would always leave her to her room once he was finished.

'Is that how she looks?' He touched her cheeks and she moved a bit. Her skin was warm and soft and he wanted more. His eyes went to her bra. Yes, he remembered those beauties inside the piece. Images of how she loved when he bit her nipples…

Gwen turned to face him and opened her eyes. She took a few seconds to realize that it was Ethan in front of her and what happened the night before. Or… almost happened.

"Ah!" She got up, sitting on her bed and, next, getting up. "Ethan!"

"Morning to you too, love."

"What…? Get out!" She yelled and he raised an eyebrow to her.

"Are you sure?" He tried to be funny, but his head was aching. "Do you have a pain killer?"

Gwen looked at him with her mouth open. Ethan could only think what he could do to her mouth, but he pushed the thought aside. No! It was bad enough he said stupid things the night before.

"Go find your painkiller somewhere else, Ethan Lennox!" She said. "You have the nerve to still be here?"

He got up from the bed and walked to her, trapping her against the wall.

"Just sex, if you want." He said. "I really want you." He sniffed her neck and she closed her eyes.

"No." She answered in a low voice. "Go."

Ethan looked into her eyes.

"Don't let that bastard touch you." He said and got a few steps back, opening the door and getting out, while collecting his clothes from the floor.

Gwen took a while to recompose and to understand he should be talking about Johnny.

"I don't owe you anything, Ethan. If I want him to touch me, or any other man, it is my business, not yours."

"We shall see about that." He finished putting his shirt on, winked at her and left her apartment.

Janet, who was with two coffees on her hand and walking to Gwen's apartment, almost let the two cups fall on the floor when she saw Ethan leaving her friend's apartment.

"What the hell?"

"Morning to you too, Janet." He got one of the coffees from her hand and left.

Janet entered Gwen's apartment and put the remaining cup on the kitchen balcony.

"Gwen Hoffmann, what was the meaning of this?"
