Wednesday arrived and Gwen was ready. At least, in theory. She didn't have the will to go on this blind date. She was not looking for a man! All she wanted was to focus on her career, but Nikolai was always so nice and he asked her so sweetly. How could she refuse him?
"Ethan could use some of that delicacy for himself, sometimes." She thought, remembering the kiss they shared the night she went to visit his grandfather. If he knew Ethan would attend, she would have postponed the visit.
Shocking her head, she knew it would be a waste of time. Nikolai probably did that on purpose, because he always wanted Gwen and Ethan to be happy in their marriage. However, there she was, going on this blind date arranged by none other than Nikolai himself.
"Maybe he gave one last shot for Ethan and I. But he saw we are not meant for each other."
Three years before, she would die with that though. She loved Ethan more than anything, she lived for him. When her mother died, she clinged even more to her unresponsive husband, who would just be her partner at night, in bed. But emotionally, she was single and alone.
Now, it still hurt, but not like before. Now she could understand that she was sorry for having wasted her time and love with someone that didn't deserve it. And, for some strange reason, he was trying to get closer to her, at the same time that he 'demanded' her to leave the city. 'Crazy jerk!', she thought and grabbed her purse and car keys, before heading to the door.
The man, who she didn't know the name until that moment, had her number and sent her a message. He asked her if she would like him to give her a ride to the restaurant, but she refused. She didn't know him. Even though Nikolai knew the man, she had to remember that he was the one who thought marrying Gwen and Ethan was a good thing. Not the best matchmaker in the world, huh?
They had agreed to send messages the regular way, no showing pictures. Nikolai 's request. He wanted them to see each other in person. A picture was not enough and could ruin everything in the old man's opinion.
The restaurant was not so far from there and she arrived a few minutes earlier. The waiter was aware of the reservation in the name of Nikolai Lennox and she thanked when the manager himself led her to the table inside the VI.P. area.
'Nikolai is really into making me marry again!', she thought after taking a look around. The place was clearly modified, decorated, to look more romantic. Rose petals around the floor and on the table. The smell of the room was delicate and floral. When she sat down, she could smell the candles. The old man was very romantic!
She waited, the waiter brought her water. She waited more and looked at her phone's screen and the man was already twenty minutes late.
Gwen hated people getting late. That was a terrible defect for her. 'Not beginning with the right foot…', she thought and drank more water. She sent a message to the man and nothing.
She tried to call, and no one answered. She frowned. Seriously, he ditched her?How great! Getting up, she decided to go take a look outside. That room was suffocating her.
When she gave two steps out, she bumped into someone.
"Ops! Sorry!" She looked up and it was Ethan, looking her up and down with a sneer. As she was not into the date, but still prepared herself in Nikolai's honor, she opted for a black dress that went under her knee, very close to her body. The sleeve was until the middle of her arm and the cleavage could be seen, but not much. Or shouldn't. It was not like she could hide her body right on that part. Her shoes were high heels, black, too. Her hair was tied up in a sophisticated bun. "Ah, that's you."
The annoyance in her voice was perceptible and Ethan frowned.
"Is that how you receive your date?" He said and she froze, turning around slowly.
"What?" She asked in a slow and icy tone.
"I am your date for tonight."
"No, you're not." She replied, her chin up, her eyes sharply looking at him.
"How can you be so sure, dear Gwen?" His hand approached her face, but she turned her face away.
"I know how you type, Ethan Lennox. And that person talking to me was definitely not you." she offered a faint smile at him. "Now, excuse me."
He held her arm, but not with too much force. He didn't want to harm her.
"He ditched you, right?" Gwen couldn't hear mockery on his tone, but anyway, she was not interested in his pity.
"None of your business. Now, let go of me. People are looking at us." She gave a discreet look around with a weak smile on her lips. Ethan, then, did something she wasn't expecting. He pulled her into the V.I.P. room. "Hey!"
Once the door was closed, he pulled her to the wall. Her eyes widened and she didn't know what he was doing.
"I haven't forgotten what you did to me last time we met."He whispered in her ear his hot breath making her tremble.
"I did what I had to. You deserved it." She said, trying to sound firm. "Seems like it was not enough and Mr. Lennox is looking for another round, huh?"
Ethan's eyes sparkled with something she couldn't decipher. Suddenly, she was being lifted from the ground, her legs held by him, under her knees.
"That way I make sure you won't do that again." He whispered in her neck, inhaling her scent. Thinking that she was all dressed up for some other random man made him crazy.
"Put me down, Ethan!" Her voice was not a scream, because she didn't want to cause a turmoil. She had no idea how much people could hear from outside.
"I don't think so." He pressed himself onto her and she could feel more than what she thought she should. That was… embarrassing! She remembered his body and she knew he was hard. She shook her head, trying to take the image of him masculinity away from her mind.
"I mean it! Why are you doing this? We are nothing to each other!"
"You are my woman, Gwen. No matter how long it passes, I was your first and I'll always hold that. I don't want you fooling around with others."
She chuckled.
"You are very bold! Hypocritical! You can fool around and I cannot, even though we are divorced?" She moved her body, trying to get free from him. " You didn't wait for the paper and was al-"
He kissed her. He didn't want to hear anything. In fact, he stopped listening a while ago, just concentrating on the image of her lips moving. 'What a waste. She better move those lips on mine', he thought.
She struggled, but not for long. He didn't have to keep holding her legs now, for she was closing them around him. One of his hands went to her hair and the other, to her butt. He wanted to go more and more forward. He wanted to be there again. Inside her.
When his mouth went to her neck, Gwen lost all her good sense to pull Ethan away.
'Fuck it! I want him to have me!'.
The door swung open, starting them both.
"Oh!" A tall and blonde man, with piercing blue eyes was looking at them, wide eyes. He recognized Ethan, because the guy was one of his friends!
"James?" Ethan asked, confused.
James Bedford was one of his friends from college, and one he kept in contact, drunk with him once in a while.
Gwen was still dizzy. What the fuck was going on?
