*lift*
Once the glass dome lifted a little, the light flew out immediately as if it couldn't live in there even for a second longer.
It flies to Terla and circles around her cheerfully that Terla can see its smile.
'Than..k you...' a little voice can be heard in her mind.
"Mmm... hello?"
'He.ll.o'
"Are you... a fairy?"
'N...' The little glow sways and swings in the air.
"No...?"
"Then what are you? A ghost?"
it repeated as a response
"Ahh...mm" "Then, ....spirit?!"
The little light moves up and down this time and, '..fo..llo.w..'
it flies and leads her to a book.
Terla couldn't see the book clearly due to the dark but thanks to the glow from the little spirit, she got a glimpse of it. She reached out and grasped the book.
"I think the words on it are in 'Ancient Tongue'."
'I.mm' the little spirit agrees.
"Ok, I will take it. But can you show me the way out? My teleport formation doesn't seem to work here."
'O..k' 'C..om.e'
Terla followed it and soon they reached the front of a giant two-sided door.
She pushed open the door but outside was completely void of light.
*chills*
'Mmm..why is it so dark outside...I am scared.'
But...
Light glows suddenly appear near her as they fly and circle her as if they want to protect.
"Mmm..they...are they your friends?"
'Imm..' the little glow beside her nodded.
"Hello. Thank you, guys. Can you please help me get out of here?"
The lights move and some spread to form a pathway.
"Thanks."
Terla followed the created pathway.
Soon, they reached the stairs,
*suddenly* "Terla?"
'Oh, O. Is someone else here?' 'No, I can't see any shadow or other light. What if it's a ghost? But how does it know my name?'
'It's ok, don't look back, don't look back.'
Terla took a deep breath and tried to just go down the stairs.
*grab* 'Oh my God, Mr. Ghost. Can't you just leave me alone? Please.'
"Terla..."
'Wait.., this voice...it sounds familiar...' Terla turned around shakily.
"Ahh...Lucas?"
" What are you doing here, alone in the dark, and you not even got a candle?"
" Ahh, it is because I took this." Lucas took out a green glowing bottle from his cloak.
"Huh, what is it?"
" Cat-eye potion."
" cat-eye potion?"
"Yeah. But that question, I should be asking it to you. Why are you here, in this dark, without any light?"
"Huh? What do you mean, without any light? Can't you see these beautiful little glows accompanying me?"
Lucas was confused...
"Mmmm, you can't see?"Terla was also weirded out.
"Yep..., and I thought you have left an hour ago?"
"Mmm, yeah but my teleport formation went wrong somehow and I was stuck in a library there."
"What about you? Your formation didn't work too?"
Lucas stared at her silently for a moment and...
"Is that supposed to be an insult?"
Then Terla realized, Lucas is a potion master.
"Mmm... sorry. I forgot that one. I stayed in the dark for too long I guess."
"Yea...I am really concerned how you are not freaking out yet."
"Haha..ha..." Terla laughed awkwardly.
"Here, take a sip!" Lucas said handing out the green bottle.
"Arrrr...bro I am okay..."
Lucas doesn't respond but keeps staring at her
*agh* 'it looks a little disgusting...'
"Mmm....u sure bro?"
Terla received the bottle and *gulp*
"Ewwwww..."
"Sweet right?" Lucas grinned.
"Wha...how can you say it's sweet!!"
"Hmm..im, but you can see better now right?"
Terla looked around. Although it was not as clear as day, she could see the stairs and things to an extent.
"I suppose?"
The little spirits are still there waiting for her to continue the way out.
Terla felt grateful and a little guilty,
"Bro, you are also going down?"
"Yeah."
Terla continued down the stairs and Lucas followed.
Terla kept looking at the wall beside her and it looked familiar.
"Bro, how did you find this tower?"
Terla had been to this tower multiple times but, every time, she just teleported to Lucas's potion room.
So, she didn't know it was a tower with this many floors and staircases.
"Huh? You don't remember?" "This is the tower where we took our 'Ancient Tongue' classes."
"Oh. I've never been down here you know."
"Is that so?" Lucas nodded.
Outside the tower,
"Ahh, finally we are outside." Lucas sighed and looked at Terla.
"Yea...thanks for your accompany." Terla turned around and smiled at him.
"Immm"
*thump* *thump* Lucas kept staring at Terla and it seems like he has something to say.
*ahem* "Terla"
"Yes?"
"Actually, I have something to tell you."
"Okay..."Terla looked at him curiously.
"I am leaving for Caro this December."
"Caro? It's already decided? Wow.., congratulations!"
Caro. It is a great kingdom. Although it is just a kingdom in name, it is almost as wide as the other empires.
It is located just beside the Khisfire empire and the two have a very good relation since the Queen of Caro married the Khisfire Emperor three years ago. Queen of Caro, Empress of Khisfire, she is well-reputed in both countries.
Her husband loves her and people love her. It is known that they are in love since young but unfortunately, her father, the king and her only brother, the crown prince died in a war, she had to become the Queen of Caro. At first, she refused to marry the crown prince of Khisfire due to her faith for her country. Year after, when the crown prince became the emperor, he promised to keep Caro as its own and that she will still be the Queen of Caro. He went to Caro unguard and proposed to her officially with a field of flowers. And soon, they got married.
Their story was a legend and a fantasy.
I knew his family is rich but I never thought they can even afford to send him to study at a university in Caro at their own expense.
Lucas left.
" Thank you, guys. How can I ever pay you back?" Terla turned to the little spirits.
They flew round her and twinkled showing they too are happy to help.
One of them came out of the circle and touch her fingers, 'Ma..gic'
"Hmmm... are you asking for magic?"
So, Terla poured some magic into the air.
The magic then scattered into tiny sparkles and each drifted to a spirit.
After a few seconds, the sparkles disappeared and the spirits altogether embraced her.
They then faded into the dark until only one left.
Terla looked at it and thought, 'It must be the one from the Library.'
"Aren't you going with them?"
'Go...wi..th...you.'
"You wanna come with me? Why? I am not a genius and you might not know, but I have very little magic."
"You would be at a loss if you stay with me."
The Little spirit disagrees.
"Okay. As you wish. You can leave me when you know it."
" Now, I am going to try teleporting again. So, hold on to me."
The little spirit flew inside the cloak and stuck to her garments.
Terla drew a formation and they, together, vanished into thin air.
