Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 | Business Proposal on the rooftop

Terla heard the vibrating sound and reached out to the callo.

Texts appeared,

[ Hey, if you are free, come over to the tower.

-Lucas]

Terla quickly fetched her cloak and drew the teleport formation and…

"...."

" Ahh…I forgot. I still can't use magic." Terla sighed.

Then she looked at Anna flying leisurely near her and asked, " Can you help me?"

Anna sighed and disappeared.

" She can't? Should I try using blood like the last time?"

Terla grabbed a paper cutter nearby… but before she could do anything, she felt magic in her hands.

This magic though is not like other magic she had had before. It doesn't have any color or give a specific feeling. It just felt like nothing was there but somehow, something was there.

Anna then appeared in front of her.

"What is this?" Terla asked.

"Hurry up. I forced out some magic. It won't last long." Anna answered in a hurry.

"Oh…" Terla poured the magic she felt into the rune…and in seconds, she was already in Lucas's potion room.

"Wow… it was fast." Terla was amazed.

She has used teleport runes for years now but it was never this swift.

After looking at her hand in which she can't feel the magic anymore and dazing for a moment, she finally looked up at the room she was in.

'Hmm…where is Lucas? Didn't he call me here?'

"Lucas?" Terla called out.

Then an astounded voice came from outside and a head peeked in from outside the window…

"Already here? You sure are free."

Terla walked to the window and she was stunned by the view.

"Lucas, why are you sitting on the wall?!"

Yes, he was sitting on the wall of the tower, without any support or magic…

Lucas grinned and answered… "Surprised? I am just trying out my Lizard potion series."

Lucas stood up and posed to show off his work.

"Lizard potion series…" Terla murmured looking at Lucas as he stood horizontally with his short hair falling down due to the gravity.

"Yes, and this is Lizard limb potion… or should I name it Lizard feet?" Lucas remarked in a world of his own.

"Is this why you called me?"

"Nope" Lucas responded as he pulled Terla out of the room…

"Huh…wait!!!" Terla shouted in shock. As she closed her eyes tight.

She thought she would fall but a strong hand was holding onto her wrist.

When she opened her eyes and looked down, she was so high up in the air that the people moving around looked like ants to her.

"Ahhhhhhhhh…!!!!!!" Terla screamed and closed her eyes again.

"Haha…, is it scary? Then don't look down, look at me…"

Terla looked up and saw Lucas still standing on the wall while holding her by her wrist.

Lucas was looking down and smiling at her…

Their face were so close and their eyes met… but Lucas looked away immediately

*Ahem* " So are you ready?"

"Ahh…for what?"

Lucas grinned and tightened his grip as he ran up the tower's walls.

"Arrived." Lucas called out and Terla felt the ground at her feet again.

She was sure it didn't take more than a minute but she felt like years past.

Terla opened her tightly closed eyes and looked around.

She was on the rooftop of the tower where she could even see clouds floating around.

The sky felt so close, she could even touch it with her hands.

She walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down.

*gasp*

"It's beautiful, right?" Lucas asked as he stood beside her.

Terla was silent, actually she was purely astonished by the view.

Looking down from above, the city seemed so vast before, looked really small as if she could just grab it and keep it in her pockets. "Has the tower always been this tall?" Terla mumbled.

"Now, now, stop sightseeing and let's discuss the main matter."Lucas interrupted as he handed a burger into her hand.

Terla took the burger as she glanced at him, "How do you know I haven't eaten lunch?"

"You haven't?" Lucas was dumbfounded.

Terla ignored him as she bit down the burger like a hungry kid.

"Why is it that you called me?"

"Oh, are you interested in potion making?"

"Maybe, no?"

"Really? I was going to ask you to join my group if you are interested." Lucas looked disappointed.

"What group?" Terla asked as she chewed another mouthful of burger.

"You know, we are soon going to be graduates and have nothing to do unless we take some special classes . So I am thinking of founding a potion business before the universities start."

( He is talking about graduating from the academy, highschool graduate or alumni by our word.)

"Mmm… I think it's a good idea but I am not sure I can be of help to you. Although my mother is also a synthesist, it's been long since I had been in touch with potion making."

"It's okay. You don't need to do much. You can just follow the instructions or you can just help me find the herbs, and things like that."

"I'm okay then."

"You are in?"

Terla nodded as she took another big bite.

"Yes? Ahem…then I'll introduce you to my group at the tea party."

"Tea party? You are also going to the tea party?"

"Of course. The graduation tea party is where all the beauties in our city will gather. I can't possibly miss out."

"Awww…"

"Oh and also, someone you know very well is in my group too."

"Who?"

"You will know."

"Hmm… but what will I get if I join your business? How much is my wage?"

"Ah…that, mmm…you will get shares you know, depending on the work you put in."

*Ahem* " But, of course I am the founder and I will get the most shares."

Terla didn't respond but kept devouring her burger.

Lucas glanced at her and changed the subject…,

"Our graduation ceremony is drawing near…, do you have any plans?"

Terla didn't reply but Lucas continued…, " My mom is always talking about it that I've grown tired of. It's so frustrating to hear her mumbles everyday." while glancing at her from time to time.

"____"

"And you know right? Our graduation ceremony will be held together with those from Hero School."

"Everyone is working their best to compete against them." Lucas peeked at Terla again before proceeding,

"And....I think he will be there too."

The silent Terla's expression changed with his words.

Her hand holding the almost finished burger trembled for a second and a strange smile appeared on her face as she turned towards him, "He?"

.

.

.

.

Of course, Terla clearly knows who 'He' means. She just doesn't wanna admit that the 'He' could make her tremble like this just by a mention of him and it is .... after all these years have passed.
