Chan looked at his brother and said, "I also want to train with you and Uncle Oga, can you please convince mother and uncle?" Chan puts on his best puppy eyes while looking at his brother.
"Before I answer you, how do you know how to do that and when were you able to!?" Po replied in disbelief.
"I saw uncle teaching you and I wanted to try it too. Also, I was only able to do this a couple of days ago as it was very hard to understand." Chan answered.
Po rubbing his forehead was happy but also sad to hear how genius his younger brother was finally able to answer Chan, "If you want to train, you should show and convince father. So let's wait until father gets here to continue this talk,"
Po thinking he might be seeing the unimaginable didn't want to further talk about what he saw until their father also confirms it, as Chan would be the youngest ever to gather ki. The previous youngest was the former king of the Vin kingdom. In the history books, he was able to conquer other countries as he was a leader who lead not only in politics but also on the battlefield. He was so strong because he was able to wield and use his ki like no other. Most people wouldn't be able to sense and gather ki until they were close to 15 years old but he was able to sense and gather ki at 8 years old. He was a genius among genius.
For Chan to gather ki at 4 years old would mean he is destined to be someone great who could lead and unify all the kingdoms.
The pair of brothers waited for a few more minutes until they heard footsteps approaching the watch tower.
"Father should be in a couple of seconds," said out loud by Po as he's able to distinct others' footsteps from his father's.
The Ibu family was gifted with almost superhuman-like hearing. All the decedents of the Ibu family had exceptional hearing, which helped them become a prominent family in the Kan kingdom.
( Thump! Thump! Thump! — Creak! )
The door leading up the watch tower opened and Lord Ibu was on the other side.
Lord Ibu noticed something was in the air between Po and Chan, "What wrong did both of you get into a fight?" Lord Ibu asked his two sons.
"No, we were just waiting for you and Chan wanted to show you something," Po answered.
Lord Ibu walked over to Chan barely sober pinched Chan's left cheek and smiled, "What do you want to show my little cute Chan,".
"Father stop," as Chan chops at Lord Ibu's arm.
"Haha, you are so different compared to your brother when he was little as he couldn't stop following me around. But what is it that you want to show me?" Lord Ibu asked Chan.
Chan sat down with his legs crossed and took a deep breath in.
( Huff! )
He continued to breathe in and out slowly.
"Hahaha!" Lord Ibu laughed out loudly.
Lord Ibu saw ki gather around his 4-year-old son and couldn't help himself but laugh at what he saw because to crazy to imagine.
Chan finished and dispelled his ki and looked up at his father before asking his father, "Can you convince mother and Uncle Oga to let me train as I want to become stronger," Chan had a sincere look on his face.
Lord Ibu laughed again, "hahaha," before answering Chan, "Of course, I'll try to convince your mom, it'll be hard but she can't deny that we have a child meant for something great so we should out our parental concerns aside and see it for what it is,"
"Thank you, father!" Shouted Chan as he hugged Lord Ibu instinctively.
"The reason I called you two up here is to ask what you two want from me as I'm only here for a while before heading back to the battlefields. So is there anything else you want besides training? I'm also asking you too, Po," Lord Ibu asked as he looked at Po.
Po looked back at his father and answered, "I don't want anything but if I could get something I would like a sword and shield,".
"Sure, I was already planning to get you something before the tournament of youth. What about you Chan what do you want other than being able to train?" Lord Ibu questioned Chan.
"Can you also somehow find someone to teach me to read and write as I want to read some of the books in the library," Chan answered.
"Sure, sure. Are you sure that is all that both of you want?" Lord Ibu looked at his two sons and asked.
Chan and Po both nodded their heads.
"Hahaha! It is good not to be greedy, what two great sons I have," said Lord Ibu.
The three continued to talk for a while. Chan and Po asked to hear the stories of war from their father. Lord Ibu answered as best as he could without scaring his sons about the fear-inducing nature of war.
"Welp it is getting late so we should head to bed as your mother would kill me if I made you two stay up too late," said Lord Ibu with a concerned look on his face.
They made their way down the watch tower and each went their own way heading into their personal chambers.
( Spoof! )
Chan landed on his back onto his bed thinking to himself excitedly, "I'm finally gonna be able to train and also read. What a good day today was,"
( Knock! Knock! )
"Who is it?" asked Chan.
"It is me, Lili it is time to take your bath, Young Master," answered Lili
"Ok," replied Chan.
Being the son of a lord, Chan has to be taken care of until he reaches a point where he can mostly take care of himself, or until he can convince his mother that he doesn't need a servant to assist him.
After Chan bathed, with the help of Lili, went to sleep with expectations of hearing good news tomorrow.
Chan was able to wake up early without the help of Lili and do some push-ups, squats, and sit-ups before she arrived. It was the first time he had ever exercised in his new body. He struggled mightily and had to adjust some forms to be able to do some exercises.
He finished his excise drenched in sweat and waited for Lili to bring the buckets of water for him to use in his bath.
Lili came and was surprised by Chan being up and covered in sweat was concerned thinking he was sick. Chan explained that he just was so excited to train so he practiced for a bit and started sweating. Relieved, Lili went to set up the bath and then later helped Chan dress up.
Making his way to eat with his family Chan couldn't stop humming with a big smile on his face.
( Creak! )
His family already sitting down and waiting for him. He made his way to his designated spot.
Before they ate their food Lord Ibu had some words for his sons, "So the sword and shield you had asked for will be ready in a couple of weeks. It'll also be made with cold Kan mountain range iron,"
"Thank you father," replied Po happily.
"For you Chan, after talking with your mother we had come to an agreement of getting you two instructors, one for learning literacy and one for learning the Ibu swordsmanship,"
Chan couldn't stop smiling.
"Your literacy teacher will be your mother's older brother's disciple. Your uncle is a smart man, as he is one of the scholars that help the king. Some say that your teacher is a man that will guide the future scholars of the Kan kingdom. Your swordsmanship teacher will be one of my men who has lost his left arm in the recent battle. Don't look down on him even if he has only one arm as he was one of my lieutenants,"
Chan nodded his head yes.
"Lastly there will be no sparing or training with any other students as you to be training alone away from the others," Lord Ibu knew he had to hide the fact that Chan was able to gather ki at his age as he knew the king would take Chan away and bred him into being Kan's personal weapon.
Not caring if he trained with others Chan replied happily to the news, "That is great, I don't care how I train, as long as I'm able to train. Also if my instructor is respected by father that must mean he is strong,"
"Haha, that is right. Also before I forget, here this is for the both of you," Lord Ibu said before showing something in his hands.
Lord Ibu handed both his sons a necklace with a metal pendant.
"Thank you, father!" Po said while showing great appreciation.
Chan confused as to what he got asked his father, "Father what is this?".
"There is a belief that in battle once your sword chips its steel you must melt the sword and make a pendant for your family members or else all of your swords will continue breaking in battle," Lord Ibu answered Chan
"Oh," said Chan.
After putting on the necklaces the Ibu family had their breakfast and Chan was introduced to his swordsmanship teacher.
