Chapter 14 - Po’s Banquet

The days go by and the energy around the Ibu household picked up as they received word Po has won the Tournament Of Youth and is on his way back with many others.

The timing couldn't be any more perfect as Lord Ibu had returned just the night before they were informed Po is coming back to celebrate his victory.

All of the servants of the Ibu household were busy doing tasks to get ready for the huge banquet that'll host a lot of prominent figures of the Kan Kingdom and the Mi Kingdom.

Being busy preparing for the banquet Lili couldn't be around Chan as much so he had a new servant take care of him.

The new servant seemed like she was around 15-16. She and another woman came back with Lord Ibu as "skilled war slaves". Skilled war slaves were slaves with skills that could be helpful to the lord. Chan's new personal servant, for the time being, was a girl who helped run a restaurant with her sick mother who died from natural causes before the invasion of her city.

After winning a battle and claiming land, the losing party's citizen who has lost their family could choose to work in mines or become a servant for someone. They had no choice as they would die because they had no way to make money, this was especially true for war orphans.

On the night before Po's return, everything was ready for the banquet.

( Knock! Knock! )

"May I come in and set up your bath, Young Master?" asked the new servant.

"Of course, you can, Rei," answered Chan.

Rei quickly came in and out of the room filling up the bathtub with water.

"Your bath is ready young master," Rei said to Chan.

Chan, now kinda used to undressing in front of a servant got ready to hop in the water.

Being sorry for the girl Chan never asked her to do too much.

"Rei, I can wash myself. You don't have to be in here with me," Chan told Rei.

"I can't I was told by the head servant to watch and assist you while you bathe," Rei replied.

"Well if you're going to be in here can you at least tell me what it is like back in your hometown?" Chan asked Rei.

Rei hesitated before she saw the sincere look on Chan's face and told him, "Back in my hometown it was very quiet, and being by the lake meant there was a lot of fishermen. It was really beneficial for me and my mother on getting great tasting fish as she and I ran the restaurant my dad created before being sent off to his death as the Fen's army was low on troops." Rei stopped herself realizing she was venting to the son of a lord of the Kan Kingdom.

"Go on, I want to know more about you," said Chan.

"There's nothing else. I just grew up in a normal town where one tries to make money to survive," replied Rei.

Chan knew that it was time to shut up and call it a day with trying to talk with Rei. Rei helped Chan get dressed as he headed to bed.

( Chirp! Chirp! )

( Thump! Thump! Thump!)

Waking up Chan could hear the morning birds singing and the servants trying to make the perfect banquet.

Before taking his morning bath. Chan stretched and worked out.

After taking his bath and getting dressed, he took a stroll around the Ibu's estate as he had no training to do with Ren. In particular, he wanted to talk and asked Lili about how she came about becoming one of the servants of the Ibus.

Chan walking around finally found Lili, she was in the kitchen peeling an emp, an emp was like an apple except it was the size of a watermelon.

"Lili!" shouted Chan as he was walking toward her.

Chan asked her how she became a servant. She told him she was from one of the towns of Kan that was invaded and that Lord Ibu came with his army and rescued the citizens of the town. Unfortunately, her parents were killed during the invasion and she was picked by Lord Ibu as he felt sorry for her as she was just 10 years old.

Hearing the sad story from Lili, Chan held back some tears as he hugged Lili and thanked her for being around.

Chan continued to stroll around until the announcement came that Po and many others were making their way to the front gate.

"The young master is here with others, open the gate!" shouted one of the guards.

Being near the gate Chan could see Po with many others as the gate opened.

The group of people made their way inside before being halted when Lord Ibu stopped to hug his son.

"Let's not waste any time and celebrate the return of my son the great Po Ibu!" shouted Lord Ibu.

"Hahaha. Father before we start I would like to announce that I would like to get married," Po told his father.

"Hahaha, two great news in one day. Who's the lucky lady?" Asked Lord Ibu as they made their way to the feast ground that was already prepared for the banquet.

While making their way to the feast ground Po introduced his fiancee to his father.

After making it to the feast ground, the 200 or so people all sat at the tables, that were lined up with food.

After everyone settle down Po privately introduced his fiancee to his family, "This is Ai Si my future wife, Ai Si you already met him but this is my father, and these two who you haven't met are my mother and younger brother."

"Nice to meet you you all," said Ai as she bowed to her new family.

"You don't have to do that as we're family now," said Mrs. Ibu.

After talking for a while Mrs. Ibu took Ai to look around and have girls talk while Po explained how he met Ai.

Po went on to explain how he forgot to bring his ointment and went to Ai's father's shop to get some, while there he fell in love with Ai and continued to go see her during his time in the capital. He explained how he had to go cancel a lot of arranged meetings with a lot of prominent girls looking to marry him. He even explained how he had to cancel the princess's invitation as he had met Ai and fallen in love already.

"Haha, my son is a heartbreaker even before turning into an adult," said Lord Ibu.

"Heartbreaker, more like a big-time simp," Chan thought to himself.

After their conversation, the Ibu boys went back to celebrate the banquet.

"Thank you to everyone who showed up here to celebrate my son's accomplishment. Eat till your stomach is filled and if you're able to drink, we have plenty of time and drinks so we could get drunk up the moons come out and celebrate with us!" Lord Ibu told the participant of the banquet.

"Yea!" shouted everyone as they laugh and continued talking with each other.

Chan, sitting at the kid's table quickly at his fill and left as kids can sometimes be quite annoying and disgusting. He saw a kid dig his nose while scratching his butt before eating. See that, Chan almost couldn't eat his food.

Curious as to who was in attendance at the banquet Chan walked around the tables listening to conversations. Major figures of the prominent families of the Kan kingdom were there, and so was royalty of the Kan and Mi kingdom there also.

After walking around for a while Chan became very tired and went inside to take a nap before coming back out.

On his way to his room, he was stopped by his mother, who was with Ai. She asked him, "Chan where are you going? The banquet just started.".

"I was hungry so I ate quickly. I'm also tired so I wanted to take a quick nap before coming back out," Chan answered his mother.

"Just like Po said his younger brother is so adorable!" said Ai.

Chan nervously laugh and thanked her for her compliment as he made his way toward his room.

Eating his fill too quickly, Chan laying on his bed was now hit by a food coma and quickly fell asleep.
