( Whoosh! Splish! Splash! )
Getting tossed around by the currents, Chan was starting to lose consciousness. Trying his best not to drown he would occasionally come out of the river just to get sucked back in by the strong rushing water.
"Am I going to die again?" Chan thought to himself.
"No, I can't die yet," Chan said desperately trying to survive.
Gripping onto his bag and knife, Chan's strength was slowly starting to go away.
Adrenaline rushed into his body, causing his entire body to wake up and crank out all the energy they can muster up as it could be their final push.
Chan without knowing was able to hit the trace-like feeling that he felt whenever he was meditating to gather ki.
He came out of the water to catch his breath. When he came out, the ki around him quickly rushed into him.
Feeling the ki inside him, he drew it out to help him fight the current to stay afloat.
His body was in peak condition with both ki and adrenaline flowing inside of him. He kept swimming trying to get as far away as he can. Chan had already lost track of time as the sky was still dark and he felt like he has been in the water for an eternity.
Chan knew how a river worked and knew that the river will eventually calm down when the ground evens out.
Continuous swimming and gathering ki to help strengthen his body, Chan kept going for another 10 minutes until he heard the change in the sound of the water. Instead of simple currents hitting nearby land, he was hearing the heavy crashing of water.
Realizing too late as to why the water was so loud he eventually swam off a waterfall.
While falling everything went by in slow motion, Chan was able to think straight and come up with a plan to survive the fall. He had covered his entire body with all the ki he can and only a couple of feet before hitting the water, he release a little bit of ki to stop his momentum and hit the water with less impact.
( Boom! Splash! )
Chan hit the water and wasn't too badly injured. Getting sucked down by the force of the water he shot himself out with some of his remaining ki. Not able to see Chan headed face-first towards a large rock.
( Bam! )
The blow was quite intense and was unexpected and Chan knocked himself out.
Before losing consciousness Chan thought to himself, "Haha after all of that I'll die like this,".
Being pushed by the flowing water, Still unconscious his body miraculously was able to be washed ashore. Still gripping onto his items even when not awake he was still holding onto them as if his life depended on it, which it did.
Being woken up from the beam of light shining down on his eyes as he turned over in his sleep.
"Why is it so bright, why am I holding onto something?"
Unlike his body, Chan's mind was awake. He could feel his body laying down on what felt like sand. Turning his head away from the bright light Chan opened his eyes.
( Cough! Cough! )
Chan coughs out all the excess water in his body onto the ground next to him. Looking around, Chan was surrounded by nothing but nature, no humans could be heard, just sounds of animals and the slow-flowing river next to him. After recollecting as to why he was there, he finally made up his mind to find food as his stomach growled.
Body still chilled from being in the water for a long time, Chan knew he need to make a fire if he wanted to heat up not only his food but also himself. Not studying the edible and inedible food of the new world he was in he was going to try hunting and fishing for food. The last resort was eating tree bark as almost all tree bark was edible.
After looking around Chan was able to find a bundle of dried-up twigs. He then went to find an open area near the river to start a fire and not only warm himself up but the wet bag filled with wet clothes.
Chan carefully piled up the dried leaves on the ground before making it the center of his fire by stacking sticks around the dried-up leaves. He took out his survival bag from inside the bigger bag. His survival bag had a piece of flint that could start a fire whenever you strike it because it produces a spark. The bag also had a compass and a medium-length rope, Chan wanted more things inside the bag but he couldn't help about what had happened just the night before.
( Tink! Tink! Crackle! )
"Yes!" shouted Chan exuberantly as he started the fire.
Chan couldn't help but felt like the people in the books he read about who crash-landed and had to survive on their own in the wilderness.
"I'm Beer Grills and this is wild vs man, haha" Chan joked to himself.
( Growl! )
"Calm down, I'll find some food just wait a little bit," Chan talking with his stomach.
Gathering some ki, Chan cut down some small trees to get extra wood for the fire and also to make a rack to dry his clothes. Finally being able to make a rack he laid out his clothes and made his way to the river to look for some fish.
The water was clear and plenty of fish could be seen, not wanting his clothes to get wet he took them off and went into the water naked.
Taking a step into the water he could feel the coldness of the water, He focused his ki in his legs so he would not get swept away.
Slowly going in deeper, when the water touched Chan's balls he could feel a shiver rush down his spine.
The water was shallow but being in a child's body the water went up to almost his hip.
He slowly approached the fish in the water trying his best not to startle it. Getting closer and closer he moved his hands towards the fish before quickly grabbing it. Not gripping hard enough the fish slipped out and swam away.
Keeping his cool, he tried again with another fish.
( Splash! )
"Let's gooooo!" Chan shouted.
He held onto the fish tightly as he made his way onto the shore. Tossing it on the sand before heading back in and catching another one. He killed both by stabbing the brain then washed and gutted the fish. He then used his knife to descale the fish before returning to the fire.
( Crackle! Pop! )
Chilly, he sat by the flames while impaling and roasting the fish. The fish tasted bland as he had no seasoning to use. He also ate the fish eyes as he knew they held a lot of nutrients and only left the bones remaining.
His clothes finally dried up and he repacked everything. Chan wanted to find people and he knew he had to stay close to the river as most rivers would lead to a town. Making as much ground as he can before the sun goes down he marched onward fueled by the two fish he just filled his stomach with.
The sun was setting and he had to set up camp again, he quickly threw on a lot of layers of clothing and walked up the largest tree near him and stayed high up from the ground.
He wanted to avoid as many predators as he can while resting in the night. He walked up and sat down on a brach just enough for him to stretch out his legs. He pinned his head back and took a moment to take everything in.
Remembering he had to hide his identity, he had come up with an elaborate story. His story was that his father died when he was young and his mother never loved him and wanted to kill him but she couldn't stab him and pushed him into the water. He also found the bag of clothes drifting down the river and grabbed it.
Knowing some people knew what he looked like, he then cut his hair with the knife he had, making it super janky-looking. The hair was short but uneven for the most part.
Sitting there Chan could hear everything from the cries of the birds, the howling of the wolves, and the sound of humans talking.
"Wait, I can hear people talking," Chan said in his head.
He quickly walked up to the top of the tree to spot any fire or smoke. He could see smoke coming from a campfire a fair bit away. Quickly, he pulled out his compass to confirm the direction.
The directions southwest. He quickly came down and ran in the direction of the fire. Focused heavily on the sound of the flames and people chattering he ran closer and closer and the sounds became louder. With only a small amount of light coming past the trees he made it to where he could clearly see the people around the fire.
