He refused to believe that she would have such a big impact on him. He was usually a cold and distant man, especially when it came to women. he might as well be considered a monk. But Amayah had succeeded in getting a reaction out of him every time. He could ignore the other previous menial occurrences, but what about last night?

While he was thinking, the bathroom door was pushed open and Amayah called out sweetly, "I'm done, Master Nolan. See you tonight."

Then, instantly, they heard the room door open and then close. It seemed like she was in a hurry to flee.

After her departure the atmosphere inside the room was back to being cold again. Nolan peeled off his blanket and headed to the bathroom.

In the shower, the smell of cheap women's perfume lingered.

He could not understand the situation. Amayah was offered financial dependence by the Emerson family, so why did she still need to work?
