The renovation team arrived at the Rosewood Mansion precisely at nine o'clock sharp.
When the housekeeper, Ms. Cora, saw them marching into the house with their shoes still on, making a mess of the floor, her face instantly turned ugly. She immediately grumbled at the maids close by, "Have them put in some indoor shoes, before they dirty the carpets!"
The workmen were generally easy going fellows, but something about the housekeeper made them frown.
Just then, Amayah hurried down the stairs and received them with a polite bow and a pair of slippers for each of them. This made them instantly mollified. "No need, no need… We'll put them on ourselves!"
Amayah waited for them to finish, then said with a cheerful smile, "Very well then, you guys can follow me." and led them upstairs.
Before entering the room, she first gave Nolan a heads-up: "Master Nolan, they're here. Would you like to go elsewhere in the meantime?"
